Aisa’s actual Grimm is the one who found her as a putesco, Joanne, however Joanne is so young and thus unable to be a full fledged guardian to Aisa (she isn't really independent and able to interact with other guardians freely) therefore her father, Jayne is a kind of 'acting guardian/Grimm'. Aisa feels more attached the adult and travels with him often – she prefers to think of him as her Grimm even though he is not bound to her the same way that Joanne is.
Name: Jayne Bryzantine. Age: 27. Region: Born and raised in Auvinus, Jayne moved to Helios when he wa 18 and joined the Imperial Guard shortly after. He rents a small house that he lives in with his wife and child. Appearance: Jayne has a fantastic moustache. That is all you need to know. Personality: polite |adjective| showing good manners toward others, as in behavior, speech, etc.; courteous; civil.
compassionate |adjective| feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for others who are stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate their suffering.
family man |noun| a man devoted to his family and home.
weak-willed |adjective| having or showing a want of firmness of will; easily swayed.
History: Jayne was born in the south where his parents worked as farmers and owned an adequate amount of land. He was raised in a very family central environment with seven brothers and sisters, and new family members and close friends always seemed to pass through the house. Jayne grew up working the land and always just wanted to live the homely, happy, hard-working lifestyle he’d seen his parents experience; surrounded by happy relatives. However, the industrious and exhausting way that his parents toiled to support their numerous brood took its toll and took them both before they reached a ripe old age. Unfortunately, when his parents passed away the land was shared between him and his many siblings along with a few other close relations, meaning that by the time they got to the end of the lengthy will and all their estate was divided up he only got a small plot. Clearly it was not enough for him to farm and make a living off and would never allow him to achieve his dream of a large rural happy family life. He sold the land and used the money to move to central Helios, using the fund to pa for lodgings and keep whilst he enrolled into the military. He spent a year or so doing very minor military work such as night time patrolling of the streets and ended up squandering a lot of his money drinking with his comrades and in casual betting games., that his friends always convinced him were a good idea at the time. However as his funds began to dwindle a chance meeting and a whirlwind romance with a Miss Tessa Downham set him back on track. Within a year of meeting they were engaged and she was swollen with child – much to her austere father’s displeasure. He was a fairly high-ranking member of the military and was disapproving of his daughter’s choice in lover. Never the less, Jayne worked hard and despite remaining at a fairly low level in the military he (alongside efforts from Tessa working part-time as a maid) managed to provide an adequate upbringing for his little girl: Joanne.Name: Joanne Bryzantine. Age: 8. Region: Born in Helios and has never been anywhere else. Appearance: Personality: stubborn |adjective| unreasonably obstinate; obstinately unmoving. "But I want it! Why can't I have it!?" Joanne likes to get her own way. Because she knows that her parents will ultimately want to please her she will not let anything go until she gets it. In the household that she lives in this doesn’t always pose a problem – yes it may irritate her overstretched parents, but they are more than happy to put up with her sometimes bratty ways so long as at the end of the day they see her beaming smile. However, when interacting with people who don’t necessarily need to show her affection, Joanne’s bossy and self-absorbed character can very much rub people up the wrong way.
naïve |adjective| having or showing a lack of experience, judgment, or information; credulous. "That man is awfully dirty. Why is he lying in the street like that? Is he sleeping?" The years of slightly overprotective affection that has been lavishly poured over Joanne mean that she has lived a very sheltered life. Joanne was everything to her parents and they didn’t allow her to do many of the things that perhaps other children were allowed to for fear that a) it would cause her harm, and b) take her affections away from them (though they would find it difficult to admit that). For that reason Joanne rarely left the house and when she did she was so sheltered from the hazards of the world that her view of Panymium is warped. Her understanding of the plague for example is almost nonexistent – a bad word that she does not quite know the meaning of.
spirited |adjective| having or showing mettle, courage, vigor, liveliness, etc. "To play! To play! Let's go outside and play!" Clearly in order to get her own way Joanne has to have some ‘get up and go’ to her. She’s prepared to fight her corner in order to wrangle what she wants out of people. However her energy and liveliness are not solely limited to her strops – she is a genuinely active little girl and now that she is old enough to be able to reach the door handle and escape the protective clutches of her mother, she enjoys burning off a little of her youthful energy exploring the exciting outside world. Some might argue that she is somewhat of a tomboy because of this explorative spirit, however she would adamantly disagree – boys are still gross and she loves her dollies and frills immensely. It is just that she has a desire to see and experience new things and has no fear of the unknown to limit her.
clingy |adjective| to remain emotionally attached; holding on and resisting separation.
History: Born to two living parents who work exceptionally hard to give her what she requires for a pleasant life. Joanne was mollycoddled somewhat because of how much she meant to her parents and got given what she desired even when it was just out of reach of her father’s earnings – after all, what did it matter if Jayne went without an evening meal for a few nights, so long as Joanne was blissfully playing with her new dolly? More recently Joanne has become more and more headstrong – actively disobeying her father and escaping mother’s clinging arms to play in the streets. Of course her dirtied petticoats and soiled shoes reveal her arrant ways but she reacts with nothing more than a petulant look when scolded.
