The year prior, Alnette and Discord clashed in a duel of epic proportions. With 2011 coming to a close, the flame of battle has ignited their souls once again. Who will emerge victorious?!

Rules
1) Each combatant starts out with 500 health points
2) Each combatant rolls a 1 100-sided die
3) If a combatant wins a roll, they receive no damage
4) The difference between the rolls determines the damage to the losing combatant
5) When a combatant’s health points reach 0, they lose

Before the battle had begun, the sorceress Morrigan had taken a seat nearby. She planned to enjoy herself before the year ended, but she just couldn’t resist a good fight. Whenever Discord and Alnette fought, it was always a memorable clash.

Rusty’s day was a busy one for sure. Several noblemen around his kingdom were throwing parties of various themes. Not wanting to favor a single aristocrat by appearing at their party and no one else’s, King Rusty was obligated to visit all of them! It was tiresome to say the least. Despite his busy schedule, he would see Alnette one last time. She visited him but once since her return for the holidays and that certainly wasn’t enough for him. He would watch her in battle before she departs and remember her fearsome, yet graceful fighting style.

Discord was most surprised when he saw that there were already spectators on the battleground. Ignoring them for the moment (he would not allow himself to be distracted), he stood at the center of the battlefield, eagerly awaiting his opponent.

Alnette, overexcited for the battle to the come overzealously rushed Discord, slashing wildly. However, the slash was wide and easy for Discord to parry and counter.

Word could not describe how excited Discord was. Had he a heart in his true form, it would no doubt be beating like a ceremonial drum. His skull chattered excitedly as he raised his free hand, unleashing an explosive burst in the shape of a skull (one of his signature attacks).

Admittedly, Alnette was distracted. She had slept in and had come straight here when she woke up. Slightly fatigued, her reflexes weren't there best. She moves to dodge the skull-shaped explosive blast, but was caught in it.

With Alnette reeling from his prior attack, Discord assaulted once again with his skull-shaped projectiles. He threw one after another, each energy blast chattering as if they were a real skull.

Determined not to let him keep the advantage, she lunged at him, slashing with the slender blade she kept hidden in her skirt.

Alnette was faster than Discord; this could not be disputed. When she lunged at him with cat-like speed, he could do little to defend himself. However, her attack merely nicked his armor.
Chattering, Discord slammed his cursed Fatum Ferrum into the ground, causing a cascade of black electricity to rush towards Alnette.

"You've improved your armor, haven't you?"
Alnette was surprised her blade had only nicked his armor, so much so she didn't even attempt to dodge. The black electricity from his blade struck her directly.

"Indeed," he answered her laconically.
The scythes on Discord's back began to levitate, hovering around him. As if acting on their own, the two scythes attempted to slash Alnette on her right and left. To make things worse, the electricity that the Fatum Ferrum had spawned still electrified the ground around Alnette.
