Here is a fanfic I made with help from Vegeta-Tales. I hope you like it!

I first met her when I was 8 years old. I was training with Gohan and preparing for the androids next attack. Then she walked by with her older sister. I couldn’t help but to stare. Her stunning black hair flowed as she walk and her emerald eyes sparkled in the sun.
“Trunks, what’s wrong? You need to pay attention. This is very important.” Gohan said trying to catch my attention. I tried to listen to Gohan but I saw her walking toward us out of the corner of my eye. She was pulling her sister’s hand as she walked hurriedly to Gohan and Trunks.
“You two are the ones protecting us from the androids, right?” She said quietly. Her voice was so cute, it made me just want to hug her.
“Yeah, we try our hardest to protect everyone. I’m Trunks and that is Gohan. He is training me so I can become stronger and protect the people.’’ I said proudly.
“Oh wow! That’s so cool! I’m Charlotte and this is my older sister Sheryl.” Her eyes glowed with excitement. Charlotte…the most beautiful name I have ever heard of. “You saved my mother a few days ago! She could have died but you two were there to help her.” Charlotte hugged Gohan and I. I could feel my face growing hot and looked away from everyone. I’m sure Gohan saw me because he laughed by put his hand on my head.
“How about you girls hang out with us for a bit?” Gohan said glancing at me. I’m sure he did that on purpose…but I’m glad he did. Besides, Sheryl looks too young for Gohan but Charlotte seems to be the same age as me.
We talked for awhile but they had to go back home. “We should uhh…hang out again soon,” I nervously choked out.
Charlotte smiled, “That would be great.”
Charlotte and I saw each other every day for the next few months. I grew the biggest crush on her. I never liked anyone like that. Well, she was actually the first girl I ever liked.
Then it happened.
I was sparring with Gohan like I usually do in the mornings. We heard a scream for help, I knew it was Charlotte. I saw her running to me with blood splattered on her face. I quickly ran to her. “Charlotte! What happened?! Are you okay?!” I asked as she hugged me.
“T-the androids…they…they killed my family! Everyone is gone! They made me watch then told me they wanted me to suffer alone. They…didn’t kill me,” Charlotte cried on Trunks’s shoulder. “It won’t stop replaying in my head.”
“Charlotte, you can stay at my house. My mom can take care of you.” I told her and she nodded her head. “Gohan, I’m going to take her home. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Hey, Mom?” I called for her.
“Yes, Trunks?” Mom came into the room and rushed to Charlotte. “What happened? Are you okay?” My mother asked. She was concerned even though she didn’t even know who Charlotte was. Charlotte just hugged me tighter and hid her face on my shoulders.
“She’s not hurt but can you help her get cleaned up, Mom?” I asked holding her tighter. “This is my mom. She won’t hurt you,” I whispered to Charlotte.
A few minutes later my mom came into the kitchen and sat by me. “She is taking a bath. So Trunks, is that the famous Charlotte you keep talking about?”
“Yeah.” I mumbled trying to smile.
“What happened, Trunks?” I could tell Mom was really worried, like Charlotte was already part of the family.
“The androids killed her family,” I pounded my fist on the table. “They made her watch…they only let her live so she would suffer alone.”
“Oh, poor girl! It’s no wonder why she hasn’t spoken a word!” My mother looked at the bathroom door. The door slowly opened and my mom shot a hopeful look at me. “Go help her Trunks,” She whispered to me.
I showed her to her room. She laid down on the bed. I moved the hair out of her face and smiled. “Get some sleep, Charlotte,” I spoke softly not wanted to ruin the silence. I turned around to leave her room.
“Trunks, wait.” She spoke so quietly I could barely understand her. “Please,” there was a long pause, I just stood there waiting for her to finish. “Please don’t leave…don’t leave me.” She started crying again. I sat on the edge of the bed and held her hand.
“Charlotte…I won’t leave you. I could never go away and let you be alone.” I held her hand until she fell asleep. Then, I went to get a blanket and pillow so I could sleep on the floor in her room.

I kept my feelings about her a secret for four more years. Every day it seemed I liked her more and more. It was hard not to tell her, especially since she lived with me. Finally, I couldn’t stand not being with her. We have gotten so close over the years and I never stopped liking her, my feelings only grew.
“Hey, Trunks! Welcome home,” Charlotte smiled. I’m so glad she got her smile back. After what happened to her family, she lost her smile for a long time.
“Hey, I uh…I need to talk to you…alone.” I lead her to my room. “Charlotte…I…I uh, like you…a lot. I want to be with you,” I laughed nervously. I recited a long romantic poem five minutes before I got here and that was the only thing I could think of now?!
“Yes, of course Trunks! I’ve liked you for a long time too!” She giggled and grinned at me. I slowly leaned in and gave her a small kiss on the lips.
“Remember the first day we met?” I asked wrapping my arms around her waist.
“Well, of course I do.” Her face grew red as I pulled her closer and kissed her.
“When I first saw you, I knew I could never forget you. I knew you were perfect; you could make me happy even if the whole world was falling around me.”
I guess life really wanted to test that.

Things between Charlotte and I went great for the next few years. Our reality was still falling apart. Those damn androids were destroying everything. There wasn’t much left.
Then I lost my mentor, my best friend.
Gohan.
He gave his life to protect me. I should have been stronger…I need to protect the ones I love.
Damn Androids.
I went home, alone. Gohan’s blood was soaked in my clothes. I couldn’t save him. What if I can’t protect Mom or Charlotte? I clenched my bloody fist. I can’t cry…I have to be strong.
“Oh, god! Trunks was happened?!” Charlotte ran to me. I could tell she was deciding if she should hug me or not. I wanted to hug her and let her know I would do a better job protecting her. I looked at my bloody hands. I wasn’t even there for him.
“I’m going to take a shower.” I mumbled.
I must protect them.
When I got out of the shower I could hear their hushed voices. I walked out of the bathroom and they both ran to me. It was so hard to break the news to them. Charlotte and my mom were both close to Gohan.
“I’m working on a time capsule. It won’t save this reality but it will save another one if you help them, Trunks,” My mother said with tears in her eyes. “I was going to surprise you when it was done but I guess I should tell you now. It will be a while until I can make it. It is still in the beginning stages.”
“Yes…I can’t let this happen again.” I said clenching my fist again. I have to protect them all by myself now.
So my mother worked hard on the time capsule. I fought the androids, alone. It was hard without Gohan. I’m no threat to them…I’m just their little toy. They remind me of that every time we fight. This went on for years but at least I protected my loved ones.
Now it’s time to protect the other reality.
“Trunks, are you ready?” My mother said giving me the time capsule. “Good luck, I know you can do it!” She kissed me on my forehead, “I’m so proud of you, Trunks.”
“Yes, I’m ready. Mom, thank you for this. I know it won’t help us but I can’t let all my friends die...not again. No one deserves this.” I choked, fighting off tears.
I have to be strong.
“And you can see your father.” Mom said smiling. I smiled and hugged my mom. Then I turned to Charlotte to say my good-byes.
“Charlotte, I-”
“Just come back, okay. Be safe,” She interrupted.
“I will, don’t worry, it’s safe there right now.” I held Charlottes hand and looked straight into her big emerald eyes. “I love you.” Charlotte laughed.
“Why are you are sad? You will come back. This isn’t good-bye you know. But I love you too.” She playfully hit my shoulder. “Now go save your friends, don’t be gone for too long.”
“I’ll be back as soon as I can. Don’t miss me too much.” I waved and went to the other reality.

I did what I needed to do in that reality. I gave Goku the medicine. I hope that is enough, please that has to be enough.
It was really awesome to see everyone, especially my dad. My mom was right, he is an arrogant man. I couldn’t help but laugh as I was leaving. I waved at him and he just frowned at me. I really hate to leave him so soon but I had to go back.

I walked into the house. Charlotte ran to hug me. “Where’s Mom?” I asked looking around.
“Oh, she is in the workshop.” I kissed Charlotte and ran to Mom’s workshop.

I walked in and saw it, her. I ran to my mother. Her body was cold. She was staring at me with dead eyes.
“Mom! Please, no, wake up! Mom!” I yelled trying to find a pulse. She has blood all over her. There was blood all over the room.
Where is our toy? was written on the wall in blood. I couldn’t save her…this can’t happen again. It’s just like when Gohan died. “Oh, mother,” I muttered as I shut her eye lids. “I’m so sorry, I couldn’t protect you…I love you.”
“Trunks, what’s wrong?” Charlotte asked walking into the workshop. She gasped and I ran to cover her eyes.
“Don’t look. I don’t want you to see this.” I walked her out of the room.
“Is she…de-…” Charlotte choked out.
“Yeah…she’s gone.” She hugged me tightly and started crying.
“I’m so sorry Trunks. But…it’s not over. You still have me and your child.” I looked up at Charlotte and she smiled and held my hand. “I’m pregnant. We can still have a family.”
“T-that’s great.” I put a hand on Charlotte’s stomach even though she hasn’t begun showing yet. “I’m going to be a father.” I chuckled nervously. I was so happy to be a father but it hurt to be happy after what happened to my mother. I hugged Charlotte; I never want this moment to end.
“Trunks…I’m really sorry about your mother.” She whispered in my ear. “You don’t have to be strong all the time though. It’s good to cry sometimes.” She petted my hair and I held her tighter, still trying not to cry. “Let it out. It will be okay.” There was no stopping it; the tears flowed down my face like a river.
I felt so weak.

Oh, I hope she likes the ring. If we are having a child, I want her to know I will stay with her. My mother gave me her engagement ring to give to Charlotte a few weeks before she died. It is so beautiful, my dad was so great. Charlotte has just begun showing.
I walked into the kitchen, “Charlotte? Where are you?” There she was, lying on the floor in a pool of blood. No, not again. I ran to Charlotte. Her eyes were closed but she was still warm.
“Well, I see you found our new toy. Sorry we were too rough.” Android 17 walked into the kitchen with 18 by his side.
“17, you are the one that killed her.” 18 seemed annoyed as usual.
“You…how could you do that! She was all I had left! She was pregnant; I was going to be a father!” I yelled.
“Too bad for you little Trunks. Don’t you think you’re too young anyway?” 17 laughed. I ran to punch him but he grabbed my arm. “You are not in the fighting spirit.” How dare 17 mock me!
“Just kill me! I have nothing else left; you’ve killed everyone!” I screamed at them.
“Ahaha, we won’t kill you. You are our toy and you are broken. Come find us when you are fixed.” 17 pushed me away, making me stumble and fall in Charlotte’s blood.
“That’s not going to help, 17. Come on, we have more important things to do,” after that they left. They ruined everything and then they just left…how could they do that.
I have nothing now…absolutely nothing. I quickly put the ring on Charlottes bloody finger and stood back, stepping out of the pool of red.. “I’m sorry I was too late. I love you…this is my mother’s ring. I wish we could have been a family.”
I got my time capsule out of my pocket. I don’t have anything left here but I can still save the other reality. I opened the capsule and left that reality.
I knocked on the Capsule Corps door and my father swung the door open angrily.
This is my new home now.
