Would 1,000g for every active member referred, and 250g for each member referred (at all) be worth it?

I think maybe listing a few popular topics of interest in the guild description will bring some people in, or maybe have a topic of the week so every week new people join based on what the topic is.
For example say the topic of the week is EI's, people who collect EI's, people who are interested in EI history, ect. would join. Then next week the topic could be something like The Lorax then people interested in movies and The Lorax and stuff would come it, but it would also get the people interested in EI's involved and expand their interests?
Maybe a monthly contest, too, doesn't necessarily have to have some kind of a monetary prize but I could volunteer to do some art pieces or perhaps even the choice of a forum dedicated to a specific topic of your choice- like say I recruit the most members in one month, and my award was a forum of my choice... I could chose it to be about Nutrition & Dieting or something, and it could be a permanent part of discussion.

I like the forum and monthly contest ideas, though I think it would be easier to make the topic a monthly thing as well. Until we find more crew members to help out, it would be a lot of work to change it weekly, especially with school starting next Monday. Any topic ideas for this month? I think giving away a sealed envelope / monthly letter or two each month is a good idea. I think one should be given to the person who recruits the most active members, and one to the most active guild member.

people love events(usually monthly)
but rather than just a simple event, they want something unique or interesting

I really don't have an idea to help sadly but it'll come hopefully!
Maybe I can make some more banners?
I've been going through the guild, checking out sub forums and what not and what I'm noticing is that a LOT of the threads and what not have not been posted in for almost 1 or 2 years.
We could try to bring people in by restarting these threads, or starting up newer ones?
The fact is I don't really notice this guild a lot because it's rarely posted in.
(I am so sorry about that too! I feel so bad not noticing this awesome place TT^TT)
I'm willing to help as much as I'm able if you'd like!
I could bump in chatterbox, make little contests....
I'm pretty sure I've got some cool things in my inventory somewhere XD

xP I agree! I'll have to think of something good. I was having a long debate earlier today about who would win in a fight, Magneto or Thor, and I think I might be able to come up with something, given that idea. I'll see what ideas I can muster up. 3nodding

Yes. Sadly we don't have nearly as many active members as I'd like to have. I hope at some point, we can have several hundred active people online and posting on a daily basis. I'm really thinking about opening up my future charity in the guild for that purpose. It's still quite a ways away, but I think it will be well worth the wait. I think anything that would give people a reason to come here and stay would be ultimately what we need right now. I want to think outside just the realm of gold as much as possible, but I know it can be a very influential medium. I think I can budget about 1-3m each month for the guild, depending on how my quest progresses between now and 6 months or so. I'm open to just about any idea you guys might have, so hit me up with whatever you can think of!

Indeed. This can oft be where my creative side struggles. I'm more of a mathematical thinker myself, so stories/ideas like those only come to me in the shower, or right before I fall asleep. stressed I will agree though. People do love tektek. 3nodding

I'm more of a mathematical thinker myself, so stories/ideas like those only come to me in the shower, or right before I fall asleep. stressed I will agree though. I get my ideas at the worst times like when im no where NEAR a computer/pencil or paper. Or when im in the middle of making dinner or helping a friend through something. Some times I'll wake up in the middle of the night with an idea pestering me. AnD THEY DON'T GO AWAY TILL I write them out....
Thatsa a good idea by the way but I think we should have a writing contest on the side for those who CAN'T keep it to one sentence at a time you know?
Once I start typing my fingers don't stop. XD
