 It was late morning when Tahlly was at the river. She was looking into her reflection, seeing the sun over head. Almost becoming noon.
She looked up and closed her eyes. Smiling at the pleasant rays that shine over head.
She loved enjoying her mornings, the river was her favorite spot.
But that's not the only reason she comes here and esspecially today.
Tahlly got up and padded over to the base of the waterfall and saw the herbs she needed. She gentlely dig them up at the roots humming to herself while thinking to herself.
She had a lot of dark thoughts this morning even though she wanted to leave it all behind.
But that wasn't like her. She is always the caring type.
She wonders about the little pup in her family and the other wolf, who is like a sister to her, Serenade. Are they alright? Is Oak happy? Is Serenade alright as well?
Then her thoughts turn to her brother, Celt. He is patient and protective, but not once did she see him smile. She wonders if it is too late for her brother.
She was so immerse that she stop digging altogether and was staring at the herb with a look upon her face, not knowing of her surroundings.

 Ewan was wandering along the river's edge, signing to himself. It had been a long time since he had allowed himself to sing. He had wandered pretty far from his pack lands, but some things had started to bore him.
He stopped when he saw a bright blue female digging near the river. He sat down and watched her, she was very beautiful. "What are you doing?" He asked from across the water.

Tahlly jumped and turned around.
She froze as she saw an incredibly handsome wolf just sitting across the river...watchig her.
His color was like the bright moss that Tahlly loves to sleep on with the sun shinning down. The swirls on him look like water- no, air currents on him.
Then Tahlly realized that she stood there dumbfounded and she started to become upset, she let her guard down. Not just here but so close to her families home. What would happen if Oak was at home and she couldn't protect her?
"Why do you ask stranger?" said Tahlly. Her ears a little bit back and herpaws ready to sprint.
She would protect her family.

He saw her aggravation and cocked his head to the side. "You looked so happy doing it miss. I like to see beautiful females happy with their work, it is only fitting. Frowns do not look pleasant on beauty."
Ewan smiled happily, his tail wagging as he thought of anyone who would be looking for this beautiful mermaid. Thats what she reminded him of, beautiful rippling water. "Will you tell me what you are doing little mermaid?"

Tahlly was surprise at the endearment he called her.
Little Mermaid.
No one had ever called her that, much less call her with a nickname they had for her.
She cocked her head and at the male. "Beautiful females, huh?" She thought as she really got a good look at him.
He was sitting and his ears weren't pulled back like her's. But most importantly was his eyes. It was then Tahlly knew that this male ment no harm....but to be so close to home?
Tahlly's suspicion lighten a little but not alot. She needed to figure out why he was here.
She then turned towards the herbs in front of her, pick them up, and wading into the water until she got on the otherside.
She then place the roots down and stood only a few feet away from the stranger.
"I was collecting herbs," she said toward the green wolf. "These herbs, when eaten, will be able to relax and soothe anyone. I merely hope to gather these herbs to help my family."
She turned towards him and asked the one single question that has been bugging her. "Who are you?"

Ewan smiled and stood up, and bowed to her. "I am Ewan, and your family must be very important to you." He said and sat back down smiling happily.
"You must be a mother already, happily mated to a male who treats you like a princess." He said an peeked at the basket, truth was he was no good with plants, he just knew which ones would kill him and what he could eat.

Tahlly chuckled and smiled sadly. "Uh....that is not what I ment. When I say family, just my brother and younger sister."
She smiled at the way Ewan and bowed. She reminded him....not of a gentlemen, but as a knight. Gentlemen did not flirt and call her names like "Little Mermaid"
A knight suits him to a T.
"But yes, I am very protective of my family. My younger sister goes with her mother or sorts."
She rustles through the basket and places berries in front of him.
"My sister was once mated to my brother, but....he ended up missing recently. It was a heartbreaker, not to Oak, but I'm sure Serenade isn't taking it well either. I just want them to happy once again."
She looked at her paws thinking about her brother.
"Oak came to me to visit and I left her with our brother Celt, who recently join this family. He never met Serenade or Kimen but he feels the lost."
((I hope this is alright. I dunno how Serenade feels.))

Ewan nodded, liking how she seemed to have such a large family, but not one of her own. "You have a very kind heart, to take in one that is not your own. My heart acts for Seranade to have love and then lose it without warning is the worst thing i can imagine."
She seemed to be working really hard to keep herself happy and going while her family seemed so far apart. Celt sounded like a male he could work with, it could work out well for him if he set them up.

Tahlly really thought about that last question really hard.
"I don't know really." She said with a blank expression on her face. "I never really thought about it. Maybe....maybe it's the simple things in life that really makes me smile."
But then something pops into her head. "But....it still feels lonely. No one to share those tiny moments with when they aren't always around."
Tahlly smiled. "But you are right about love. But Love, at least I don't think, it's always predictable."

"Love has a way of working things out, and if they are truly in love they will be brought back together. It is the way of the world." Ewan said and smiled happily.
"But what makes you happy? You deserve to be happy as well." He relaxed a little more, seeing that she was actually at ease talking to him. Sometimes he runs across wolves who didn't want to talk.

Tahlly closed her eyes and thought again.
She looked deep inside her heart, and when she opened them...a sad look upon her face.
"A child," she finally said. "A child of my own."
She turned away embaress. "But that is selfish of me. I don't know how I can think that when my sister is in agony."
She looked at her paws in front of her. "I can't think for what I want. At least for now."

Ewan frowned and stepped forward nudging her cheek. "You deserve to be happy as well. It is not selfish to want to be a mother." He had often wished of the same thing, becoming a father. And seeing this female so sad made his heart act for some reason.
Normally he tried to stay out of of there personal aspect of his work, but she wa exceptionally beautiful. Ewan wanted to make her happy.

Tahlly closed her eyes and nudged her cheek againist his.
"Thank you." Tahlly smiled at him, blushing. "Being a mother is all I ever wanted."
Ewan was kind to her, and some how, he was different.
He listened to her.
Of course there was Celt and Serenade, but there was something about him. Like a connection of the sort.

Ewan smiles and straightens himself back up. "I do hope you find someone." He never expected to find love for himself, but maybe he could help her. He would have to keep an eye out for a male who would fit nicely with her.
"Can i help you carry your things?" He asked and picked up the basket in his mouth.

Tahlly was surprised at his request. She doesn't know if she should let him near their den.
Tahlly sighed. She can't help herself. She is very cautious and wanted to protect her family.
Tahlly looked back at Ewan and gave a half-hearted smile.
"You can help me carry my things...IF you promise not to tell the location of our den."
She looked away in shame. "I have nothing against you, but I don't know you all that well, so..."
She left it as that.
