Because seriously, the average person doesn't spend most of their time focusing on politics.
So what other kinds of quirks do you have?
For me, it's the fact that I fill the pockets of my coat with tons of random stuff besides the normal cellphone and MP3 player, and (used to) rarely take off my coat when wearing it (after all, it's got all my stuff in it!). It goes without saying that the coats I buy are usually winter-type coats with lots of pockets. At one point it got so bad that the coat itself added another pound or so to my body' weight!
Oh, and the other quirk I've got is that I'm a bit of an impulsive buyer of sunglasses (I want to find that perfect pair of aviators...). Last I checked, the number of sunglasses I own was around 22-23. Which, given the fact I live in Washington, since Seattlites buy more sunglasses per capita than anywhere else in the country, though its mostly because the lost the last pair they bought. On the other hand, I know where every last one of pair of sunglasses that I own are.
So what about you makes you a little bit eccentric? (Totally not trying to breathe life back into the guild.)

METALFumasu Oh, and the other quirk I've got is that I'm a bit of an impulsive buyer of sunglasses (I want to find that perfect pair of aviators...). Wish I could be an impulsive buyer of sunglasses, but alas; I like to see. I have prescription aviator sunglasses for lifeguarding cool They're ******** rad.
Um, as for eccentric, does gender bending count? I troll the Christian university I'm at for nursing school. Most of the chicks look like Barbie American Eagle models that are barely 18 anyways. I've had a couple of them hit on me and it's always entertaining watching their initial uncertainty.
I also love wearing flipflops, basketball shorts and my Army sweatshirt during the winter. 'Course I live in the desert...so it's like 80 degrees here right now.

At least you have a legitimate reason to wear aviators. I wear my shades constantly, even during when its cloudy up here in Seattle (aka most of the time). And as for gender bending... yeah, that's eccentric. Doubly so if it's to troll chicks that look like they're cutouts from a magazine..

They were really expensive because they're prescription aviators, so I wear them EVERYWHERE to get my money's worth. And for this kind of pose.
It's ridiculous the level of looks in the nursing program. I'm surrounded by generic whitebread Christian girls who look like they were Barbie's and Skipper's sister. I'm basically trolling an eyecandy shop, haha.

I'm a compulsive buyer of headphones and ear buds...I mean I have a pair of ******** $700 professional headphones, that you really can't beat in quality unless you're planning on paying $5000+ for some kind of crazy custom job with only marginally better sound quality...and yet I still find myself buying skullcandy ear buds when they are on sale, or el cheapo knockoffs and s**t...AND I DON'T KNOW WHY!!!

Er--unless Skull candy is cheap where you live.
I'm afraid to buy super expensive headphones because of how much I use them when I'm sleeping, working out, traveling about. My lil bro has some Bose ones that are fukkin amazing, but even with his a**l retentive tendencies, its starting to fray.
*would post something about being a Redwings fan in the Southwest but it's not terribly eccentric anymore, especially when the Wings play the Coyotes here. You get more Wings fans than Coyotes fans xd *

Bought a pair too...but yeah, normally it's too expensive for me...but still on sale is on sale.

Oh I make damn sure my $700 pair NEVER leaves my room. I keep good care of my Skullcandys too, but yeah I go through the cheaper ones I go through pretty quick...I do I have a pair of no brand ear buds that have much better sound quality than I expected...but they still can't handle enough bass for my liking, and thus far seem really durable...and they were only $14, so yeah that's good...I think they're a local shop specialty or something, cuz they didn't have a label and I got them at this really small music store down the street.

METALFumasu So what about you makes you a little bit eccentric? (Totally not trying to breathe life back into the guild.) Necroposting-CPR is coming up here, sir! Let's see; where does one begin? The tendancy to do maths purely for self-entertainment is probably a "weird" habit to most people. Elevated syntax - most prominent when slightly drunk given this destroys self-constructed methods to dumb-down speech. Skipping and/or Dancing. All. The. Time. Bursting into song on a whim. That odd enough or do I have to muster the less-evident-in-public quirks?

Try this recent morsel of physics boredom; E=mcΔθ Energy=mass*specific heat capacity*change in temp.E=Pt Energy=Power*timeP=Fv Power=Force*VelocityF=Bqv Force=Magnetic flux density*charge*velocity∴ Bqtv^2=mcΔθ ∴ v=√[(mcΔθ)/(Bqt)] So; no prizes for guessing I enjoy science. razz (Although on sadder (genuinely sad) notes of acts of maths work; I found a regression line on the political compass between social and economic scales with a positive gradient (using peers' results)).

METALFumasu emotion_sweatdrop Wow, you're a genuine math eccentric. I have friends guiltier of that pleasure. They've chosen to take it to degree level because they enjoy doing pure mathematics. I personally stop caring past the point of real application. Edit; fun fact whilst physics in on my mind; A solution of suspended starch in water acts as a dilatant - it becomes thicker under pressure. In other words; anyone got some starch? I'm trying to trick some religious fundies.
