Do your rituals have a specific structure?
Where did that structure originate?

My solitary rituals do not have any specific structure. There are a few things I tend to do each ritual, but there are times when even those few things are not done. My group on the other hand, makes a point to try out different structures/methods of ritual. This is because my group is "experimental." We want to study and learn about different types of witchcraft, and when/if able, see how they work for us.

Yes, but it depends. For solitary rituals I have one format, for the pre-initiate Gardnerian circles we used another that we wrote ourselves (though we used a NROOGD script a few times before then), and for the religio Romana rituals are usually different depending on the deity or purpose. My daily worship at the lararium is pretty much set and standard, though because that particular worship is a contract between the family and the household deities, it can change and be unique to each household. Since I am pretty much a beginner, I am using a very simple ritual that takes literally maybe 2 minutes, though I'm sure that it will get more specific and elaborate over time and my understanding of my relationship between myself and my deities changes.

I would be really interested in you sharing the ritual structure of Religio Romana. I know nothing about that religion.

I have an oil that changes scent depending on who's wearing it, it reacts to your pheromones. Normally, I anoint myself with this before I do anything. Since I don't have an extra room set aside for a ritual area, I also usually cleanse the area I use. Also, I open up the window for about an hour before doing ritual (but makes sure to shut it before starting to keep out any noise) so that there aren't any unwanted scents.

That's interesting. For myself I have a ritual incense that I created a long time ago that I try to use every ritual.

My morning ritual and prayer is specific to myself as it changes from household to household. For formal rituals there is a lot of structure. If I say something wrong or do anything wrong I have to finish it, re-cleanse myself, and start over again. Usually if that happens I offer something bigger to the gods to please them.

Are your Gods perfectionists? Basically lol. If you do something the wrong way it's a bad omen and will displease the Gods. I play music during rituals so that there are not bad omens of other sounds and I wear a shawl to cover my face so I do not see any bad omens. There's a lot of apologizing during the ritual if anything was done wrong that I don't know about, but if I do know about it I have to restart and offer something bigger to them as an apology. The rituals are basically asking them to do something for me and I can't just ask without offering the best thing and doing the ritual to them perfectly. Even when I do the prayers on an unholy day or if I forget to do my morning prayer I have noticed that bad things start to happen until I do it and apologize to them. Don't want to make the Gods mad!
