Lets see if I can get this topic back on track. There have been many deaths in wrestling since I started watching ohh... 20 years ago or so. But there are three that affected me the most. In no particular order.

1. Macho Man Randy Savage- He is my favorite wrestler of all time, the day after his death my brothers and I went out and had our own little memorial in his honor. Last May, the one year anniversary of his passing I will not deny that I cried as I went back and re-watched WWE's tribute, along with old Macho Man matches and other tributes made by other fans. He was a huge part of my childhood growing up.

2. Michael "Hawk" Hegstrand of the Road Warriors- Randy Savage is my favorite singles wrestler, but the Legion of Doom are my favorite Tag team. Hawk's death not only hit hard when it happened, but when I watched the DVD's and documentaries of his life, it really is an amazing story. And it showed me that people can change, no matter how low their life can get. To me he really is a role model, and he left this world way to early.

3. Chris Benoit- At the time of his death I wasn't too impressed with the stories and angles they were running on WWE, the only thing that was really keeping me a fan at that time what Chris, He was an amazing athlete, and one of the best technical wrestlers ever, and nothing can take that away. However, the circumstances around his death and his family hit me hard in the worst way. When a favorite wrestler dies the way he did, I had to step away from Wrestling for a while, that was the straw that brought about an end to me being a fan of wrestling for a few years. Recently I have gone back and started watching a little bit here and there. Re-watching old clips and matches from long ago. But I don't think I will ever be as big of a fan as I once was ever again.
