Just outside the walls of Necrule Castle, sits a field of dead grass and a single dead tree. It is here the soldiers used as a training ground when Necropolis was first being built, but as of late the fields have change into a grand arena and is open to the public. It serves as both an arena to watch people battle to first blood and as a place that is used to make announcements to the general public, so it is a popular place. It also, on rare occasions, serves as a place for court... but that is for high crimes, such as treason, in which it is likely by the end it will be ruled that the person accused is to be put to death. The fights in use to be to the death, period, but the new king made some new laws as to make it both more entertaining and less immoral. At the first sight of blood, the fight is stopped and the king decides the fate of the bleeding person, whether they are to be spared, die, or continue fighting. If it's some small bleeding (like a bloody nose) it is usually decided that the fight should continue. Should you still try to fight after you're bleeding or continue fighting a bloody opponent (if not authorized to do so by the king's decision) then it is seen as an act of treason and you will be killed by the Grand Executioner and your body will be dumped into the Dead pits below the arena, where they toss the dead bodies of the day and is to be either buried in the Shadowfleet Graveyard at the end of the day or burned (that is if certain people were convicted of treason). If a bleeding opponent is decided he/she should die, then a set of guards will grab and hold them down as they are expected to be put to death, either by the opponent or if the opponent chooses not to by the Grand Executioner.
