And how do you think it will affect this guild?
I personally hate it. I have made fan art before and maybe could be tossed into jail. D : I kinda think gaia might shut down this guild, because we have canon characters in it and mention the moon kingdom.

Sopa and Pipa would both block non US base matirian and that wich it not properly creited. We would all be in big trouble for being IN this guild just for that.
I think stoping Piracy is great and all but there trying to isolate us on ;line and monitor every thing else.

Yup yup. Couldn't they find another way to stop piracy? Like make a program that prevents people from copying anything on a site where the owner does not want their stuff used? Even prevent it from being screen printed? Also, the program is a choice on whether or not to be used. I mean, they did manage to make the internet.

Gaia itself would be shut down. They have a ton of items that are used for cosplays based off of characters not created by gaia. The cosplay arena would turn into nothing and the anime fan base may just end up leaving.
My profiles would get me in trouble even though I mentioned it's by Naoko Takeuchi.
In all honesty, I've felt the strains of copy right type issues before with youtube and I no longer make fan based movies anymore because youtube threatened to ban my account. It wasn't even the clips I used, MGMT has legal claims over all of the music on youtube so if you upload a song it's reportable.

America is narsisistic (definitly spelled that wrong) It imports everything and exports job then complains about money issues. honestly this is a low and desperate blow to keep us in the US.
and we wonder what will end the world...

There are literally millions of people in the US against SOPA/PIPA right now. A lot of people, including myself, have already contacted our state's legislators to let them know we don't support it. Fortunately, it looks like they're backpedaling on it, and most of the senators are deciding against it.
Oh, and people outside the US can get in on this too, by contacting the State Department to let them know their views on it.

-: ((( And so many people in different countries would loose their ability to move freely around the internet even if they do not have censorship.
-Aw man, some cosplay items on gaia are even barely different from the original design that the creator made like the sailor moon items.
-Hey, I am all for the US getting out of other countries affairs and relying on ourselves more like our fathers had wanted.

Yeah I've already seen articles from sites posted on the Facebook page of my anime club saying Sopa is out and we just need to worry about Pipa now

Well, if they are half way through maybe neither of them will get passed.

There are ways to keep amaturs from copying content through scripts.... but there isn't any way to keep people from copying what you put online if they really want to.
But yeah.. SOPA needs to die.

Many of the businesses and corporations that backed the bill suffered heavy customer losses; if it came to pass the White House had already threatened to veto it anyways because it needs to be "more narrowly focused." In the meantime it has been postponed for a month for companies to regroup but if people keep spreading word against the matter it should ultimately be dissolved altogether. One could only hope though with who we have in congress. =3=
