The Ranae, the "children of the gods", are a peaceful people who range across the Plains. All share the bond with nature and animal totems, and the same general beliefs though a tribe may choose to have one of their many nature gods as a specific guardian over their people. The Gwiiden they pay special attention to and care for are basically large horses with feathers instead of hair. These are special creatures and so they aren't ridden or used for burden except by the chosen Great Chief over all of the tribes. There are many Gwiiden, and the different herds tend to have a general color scheme for the specific differences that are special for each, and these tend to carry over to the tribes caring for said herd for they use the Gwiiden as an example of how to live, as well as their totems and deities.

Everything is meant to keep a flow with Nature, and so the Ranae all have their animal totem as they connect with Nature, and it will usually show in which animals they are particularly sensitive to and have as familiars. Some will even have dual natures that allow more paths for their lives to be open to them, and the best Chiefs tend to come from this group. Some totems stay the same, or pretty much the same group or type, like for the teachers and medicine masters. There are even a few tribes where everyone has the same type of animal, if not THE same animal, for a totem, and these tribes tend to revere one deity over the others as a special guardian to their tribe due to the specific animal/trait.

There are major celebrations all tribes will recognize, and then there are some that are particular to each tribe that are again based off of any particular deity they worship more than the others and what animals lead their lives aside from the particular quirks of their herd of Gwiiden. For example, the Hunt's Plenty of the more hunting-based tribes to celebrate the animals willing to give themselves up for food and materials, nothing wasted. Specific tribes will be listed as well as ones with any specific deity orientation, totem animal, and what they do.

If you are to be a Chief, please go ahead and organize your own tribe as you see fit, or give me ideas and I can patch something together for you, or I can just give you what I had in mind and you can use that if you wish. ^^
