BA-522

"A reward of currency is available for your apprehension or proof of your cessation.
I require such currency.
If you cannot provide me with compensation that exceeds the value of that reward for your safe departure from my presence, I have no alternative to bringing you to the authority that wants you.
Query: You will be living when I bring you to this authority. Yes or no?"

PERSONAL COMMENTS ON CHARACTER
About the Creation of the Character :: Pretty hasty creation by my standards. Probably why I've revised him three times in the last 6 days.
About the Story of the Character :: Some things may be tweaked depending on the Alterer race info, but here's what I have so far...
Note: Has been tweaked. May be tweaked again.
Nearly one century ago, Twenty-two awoke early one morning, face-down at the edge of a forest. Slowly, he began to hear wind through leaves, and the sound of distant birds. He could feel himself lying on a mix of grass and twigs. He was uncomfortable, but not in any pain.
When he tried to open an eye, he noticed his CPU had already finished a full System Reset. As he thought to check its databank for the latest records prior to losing consciousness, the words "Purge of corrupted data complete" flashed in his vision and then was followed by details of the task scrolling by. The CPU had disposed of all the data in its databank.
He thought to groan. He wanted to know where he was and what he was doing there. And why couldn't he move?
Just then, as if sensing his thought as it usually did, his CPU began running a diagnostic subroutine on his condition. When it finished compiling the report, he saw it overlaid on the back of his eyelids. A grocery list of damages sustained scrolled by, including several punctures, lacerations, burns, inter-cranial trauma and the damage of organic components to various degrees. It made him wonder how he was still alive, and if anyone was looking for him.
Would anyone be looking for me, he thought?
He couldn't answer that question. Did he know anyone? Where was he? What was the date? His frustration grew as his CPU initialized and carried out a self-repair subroutine that began work across his entire body. To do this, his pain-receptors were deactivated. Did it matter, he thought? He already felt numb from all his injuries.
As he thought and tried to remember anything from before he woke-up, a timer counted down from an approximate time of 64.5 hours. This would be how long he had to think while the nanomachines in his system worked to repair his damages and regenerate the damaged organic tissues.
Nearly three days later, he had healed as much as he could. His body was restored to functionality, but he still couldn't move. That was when the CPU reiterated inter-cranial trauma , flashing it in his vision, and then gave him the detailed report on that particular assessment.
Displaying an image of his brain and the CPU it contained, the damaged areas became highlighted and lines indicating critically injured centers appeared. Hardest hit was his frontal lobe's motor cortex, but others were indicated as well. The concluding diagnosis was the complete loss of control of his body.
The CPU then informed him of its ability to "requisition control".
>In the event of unintentional failure by you, B.A. No.522, to take the actions necessary for your continuing survival, it falls to this CPU to see to it that such necessary actions are taken.
>I will reroute the required systems in [30] seconds unless you respond to this message, B.A. No.522.
Twenty-two tried to respond, growing more and more desperate with each passing second.
>[20]
The CPU was not receiving his command to cancel the countdown, but he kept trying.
>[10]
He would have held his breath if he could control his respiration.
>[5]
Why?
>[4]
What in the hell happened to me, he thought?
>[3]
Oh no, this is it.
>[2]
Will I ever figure it out?
>[1]
...
>[0]
>Initializing command override protocol.
>Do not worry, B.A. No.522.
>I will carry out my programming, the programming encoded by you, and ensure your continuing survival until you awaken or can be awoken.
I am awake...
>Sleep well, B.A. No522.
>Command override complete.
...
Ideas and Development :: Wondering how he would react to other Alterers, or if it would matter to him at all.
Personal Significance :: Nothing that comes to mind. neutral
Other things I want to mention :: He has been simultaneously the easiest and most difficult character I've made, and he isn't even truly finished. Many details about him are unknown; some are unknown because I haven't figured them out yet, while others are unknown because he has forgotten them. Will he ever regain his lost memories? Can he possibly recover from his brain-damage enough to disengage the "auto-pilot" mode he is in and take control of his body? Only time will tell.
