((Anyone can join in. Whether you protect, ignore, pity, eat, or tease her-- totally up to you.)) Although she couldn't remember anything, she couldn't quite shake that feeling of deja vu as she opened her eyes to the stinging wind. She shut them again, curling up into her own body to retain what warmth she could. The little creature was barely old enough to walk, but her instincts told her she was starving. Her legs worked with great difficult to pry her from her last bit of gathered warmth and begin trekking down a half-cobbled half-ruined path. She had found herself abandoned in a wicker basket, with no recollection of how she managed to get there. Throughout the day, she searched the frigid grassland for food or life energy to leech. At one point she came across a farm, where she snuggled into a pack of goats and began to sap their energy. Unfortunately, the farmer soon noticed her and dispatched his pet dogs to take care of her. Miraculously, she survived with only patches of missing fur where the dogs attempted to bite her limbs off. She finally stopped near the trunk of a small, spindly tree and dropped like a potato. It was too much. Whoever had abandoned her knew she wouldn't last long, but whoever abandoned her obviously had no need to keep her. Mjoll bunched herself up beside the cold bark of the tree and shut her eyes, trembling.

Monty watched the little thing from the branches high above her. He blended in fairly easily with the surrounding and was not surprised that the little thing hadn't noticed him. The cold didn't bother him, what he lacked in fur he made up for in spirit. He was a warm soul. "Well hello there." He tried to sound friendly and inviting. Judging by the state of the baby, jumping down for a more open greeting would probably scare the living daylights out of her.

Fusui was currently in a foul mood. There was snow between his toes. Snow between his toes! Usually by now he'd have found some nice human dwelling to flop in and pretend to be a throw rug for the cold snowy months. Instead he'd been chased away far too often for his taste. Maybe because he wasn't little anymore he had lost that youthful charm. Grumbling under his breath he plodded through the snow and paused by some trees. He'd heard a voice. Something calling Hello...but not to him. Fusui narrowed his eyes and peered through the trees at...a Neverlin and a...baby? Snuffing loudly he snaps his tail behind him and growled. More Kage around here meant his possibility of finding a temporary home was not likely.

Monty's ears peaked at the growling. His eyes darted to the source. The spiritual kage was easily spotted in the snow. Growling was not exactly a good sign. He jumped from the tree, landing a way from the baby. He hoped that the growl had been directed at him rather than the infant. It was possible that the other kage had not yet noticed it.
He wasn't sure what he was doing. He was not a fighter. Never had been. Nor was he a large or strong kage. Given the choice he would normally either retreat higher into the tree or run, but he couldn't just leave a baby to possibly be eaten or the life force drained from her.

The tiny Kage twitched her ears in surprise, wondering what that noise had been. Frost had begun to collect on her eyelashes and fur where her warm breath would condensate and freeze. Shivering, she looked around, though the extent of her encounters had been with mindless animals and hostile humans. She was entirely too trusting, and it left her vulnerable.
The brown Kage leapt down, though she made no effort to move. She couldn't, even if she tried. "Mjoll?" she murmured.

Well..that was not too unexpected. His tail swished left to right through the snow as he looked the grown Kage over slowly. It seemed he was...protecting the baby. Maybe it was his? Fusui sniffed again and attempted to pad around the brown Kage so he could better see the little blue one. Well...babies were adorable. He supposed if he had a baby with him he could charm a local farm wife? Fusui huffed and nodded towards the baby. ~It's too cold.~ He said with a sweep of his tail again.

That... was a very good point. Having never had a problem with cold weather himself, it was easy to forget that some other kage were not accustomed to it. He didn't want to scare the baby, but the other option was not viable either. His eyes never left the larger kage as Monty moved closer to the infant. "Mjoll... don't be afraid." He didn't know what the word meant, so it could... theoretically be its name. He moved slowly, still distrustful of the other kage. He finally broke eye contact just long enough to pick Mjoll up by the scruff and plop the baby on his back, the warmth trapped in his fur would help keep the chill at bay.

Mjoll complied with the maneuvering, unfit to put up much resistance as she settled into the older Kage's thick fur. She could hear the sounds of another Kage, forcing her eyes open just long enough to see the dark reddish Kage further out in the snow-covered bits of grass. Was it going to chase her off? For once, she had an opinion on the goings-on around her. Whether the older Kage told her not to be afraid or not, she did feel safe and she did not want to leave.
"Mjoll!" she squeaked out at the Spiritual Kage.

It was remarkably amusing to see the pup of a kage plopped onto the others back. Already his head was picking out all the wrong things with such a move. If he had been inclined to attack, the little thing would have fallen right off. He was in a bad place too if the other chose to run. Darting off would again unseat the pup and leave it in the snow. or, worse yet, turning around to regrab it for the purpose of fleeing would leave the other Kage wide open to a neck bite.
Fighting was too much work. Particularly in the snow.
Fuisui looked at the bold squeaking thing and sniffed the air in it's general direction. ~Fusui~ He calmly replied to the squeak, though his eyes had moved to the brown colored Kage. ~It looks scrawny.~

Monty had naturally thought of none of these possibilities. He was certainly not a natural-born fighter. In fact if it came down to it, he'd probably be killed before he even knew what was going on.
Monty hadn't given Mjoll much of a look. He had registered that it was a baby and it was alone, that is about all he had gotten before Fusui appeared. "It...She is an abandoned baby in the snow. You'd look scrawny too."

Far south of their little encounter, Mjoll's father paced back and forth worriedly. He had indulged himself and had to pay the consequences, but it didn't made it any less worrisome. Although Varys was normally aloof of such trivial affairs, when it affected him personally, he took it hard. He had gotten rid of his children but he began having second doubts at his methods of disposal. He had shown mercy, but he lived in fear every day since then that they would somehow find their way home and ruin his life. He couldn't have that happen. And he had taken appropriate measures, already. As Mjoll curled up into a ball upon Monty's back, a Kage was trekking across the tundra in search of her. A very fearsome Kage.

Fusui tilted his head, his left ear flicked back as he considered the little blue thing. He could not being abandoned. He was the one who did the abandoning..but it never hurt whoever he left behind. The few humans he had lived with in the past would not have their lives disrupted by his disappearance. His mother got along fine with him gone. She just had more babies.
Charity for the sake of kindness was not something Fusui cared to indulge in. Which in a way made it more lucky that the other Kage had shown up first. The baby was his responsibility now. His previous thoughts of using the thing to cute his way into another house had been abandoned as he recalled the amount of work he and his siblings had been for their mother.
It occurred to him that he'd been starring at the two of them silently and perhaps even a little bit on the creepy side for a few moments. Fusui lifted his head and glanced off towards the trees. ~Then she should be fed. You can't hunt with her on your back, and it's too cold to put her back in the snow. I will catch something. Stay here.~ Fusui spoke softly while listening for some tell tale sign of a bird somewhere while ignorant of the danger approaching this spot. He doubted he'd find any mice...maybe a squirrel?

Perhaps Monty had misjudged the bigger, furrier kage. Clearly Fusui didn't intend to do them any harm. If he did, he would have tried already. Monty knew that he was probably no match for him, especially if he was worried about keeping the baby on his back safe. Instead, the other was off looking for food for Mjoll. Monty made a mental note to thank Fusui for his help, and also to be extra careful of judging others before they have had the opportunity to show their true colors.
Now to speculate on the infant's true colors. He craned his neck around to get a better look at the baby. She didn't look like much, Fusui was right about that. She seemed small, even for a baby, and had clearly had a rough life despite how short it must have been. She had a beauty to her though. Given the appropriate chance she might grow up to be anything. With the proper guidance she could become something wonderful. Left to her own devices... she probably wouldn't grow up. Monty wondered about her parents, but if they were anywhere nearby they would have already shown up. As he regarded her, he pondered the decision he was about to make. In all honesty, he wasn't about to make any decisions. The decision had been made for him the moment he attempted to protect her from Fusui. Monty was bound and determined to help Mjoll in any way he could.

The red-scaled two-headed Kage lumbered across the countryside, the thick forest of the south slowly thinning out as he went north. He had directions to where the Kage babies had been dropped, and Mjoll was the first. They had been separated, of course, and Mjoll had no idea she even had parents or siblings. She was all alone.
One head kept watch forward while the other looked about for clues, bits of fur, smells, or other animals. The creature soon slowed as he could tell something was in the distance, perhaps another Kage. He began to tread more cautiously across the broken trees and foliage in his path, though he was not quiet by any stretch.
The Kage ahead of him was not the baby. Though Drull was prone to violent outbursts, he had one-track minds and would stroll straight by Fusui if he happened upon him.

A small part of his mind was currently berating him. He was being foolish and wasting his own time. Finding prey was hard enough for himself in the winter. Whatever he found he should just eat himself rather then wasting it on the baby.
At the same time, the less selfish (For it really couldn't be called more 'rational mind' when that was the norm for Fusui) part of his mind stated that there was absolutely no reason he should not at least get the baby something to eat. besides. What would his mother think? Either of them.
Fusui managed to catch a glimpse of movement in the low boughs of a pine tree. Stalking towards it, he pricked his ears forwards and watched a rather fat fluffy pigeon hopping along the branch in search of any small pine cones that may have been overlooked by previous herbivore scavengers. Fusui had more then enough practice at batting birds from their low perches so he could take them alive and drain them of their energies, so this catch seemed somewhat guaranteed. He'd just snatch the bird up and bring it to..Mole, or whatever her name was. Then he'd be free to do whatever he wanted..in the snow. Ugh...
Fusui really did hate the snow.
The bird suddenly took flight with a unmelodious squawk of fright. At first Fusui feared that he'd given himself away, but in the next second he clearly learned what had frightened the bird off. A two headed kage barreled through the snow. Though to be honest Fusui had to admit that a two headed -anything- would be something to be afraid of. Fusui bounded around the tree he had just been creeping under to place it between himself and the Cerebus..though that seemed to be a un-needed precaution as it seemed to simply surge on past. Where was it going in such a hurry? Fusui's head followed the path it seemed to be racing along, and noted with a sense of irony derived dread that it's path was nigh well parallel to the tracks he himself had left in the snow.
For his part...Fusui assumed he now knew the identity to the baby's father. Clearly it had not been abandoned. It had just been lost...and likely...the brown kage currently providing the baby warmth was about to have his limbs ripped off. Once more, one part of his mind told Fusui to walk away. he really didn't want any part of this, and since the father was there, maybe the brown kage could flee and he'd escape as the cerebus busied itself tending to it's child.
Then the less selfish part of his mind prodded at him to at least go back and make certain everything did turn out that way. After all...
What would his mother think? Either of them?
Fusui pinned his ears back in annoyance at himself as he took off at a run. He followed the tracks of the cerebus as the larger creature cut through the snow more cleanly and thus made it easier for him to follow at a respectable speed.
He was going to remember this whole inconvenience in the future when someone tried to have babies with him.
