Maybe it's just me, but I have found that naming a spell can help me remember the mood and thought frame behind the creation and performance of that spell. It also gives the general gist of the spell.

Does any one else follow this practice?

I usually just call it what it is. That is, the title usually reflects the purpose.

I don't but as mentioned in another thread, I tend not to write things down.

I'm also thinking that if I am going to share the spells I write in some way than naming them will also help me have some sort of order to my organization. I also plan on creating a "fancy" spell book through scrap booking and the like.

My religious rituals dont have names.

I used to be this way but then I found too many good ideas slipping away.

Most of my solo work is done in a go with the flow style and in a trance-like state, so I don't write spells/rituals. However, for my group work, I simply call it what it is. Meaning, if I'm writing a ritual to ask for Athena's blessing the title will probably be something along the lines of "Athena's Blessing."

I also find that naming my spells will make it easier for me to find them again should I choose to.
