Well I was doing an energy manipulation exercise today (one of a great many that I try to do because I have trouble manipulating energy) and I ended up with an odd headache after I finished. I seem to only really get these types of headaches when I try using energy. Could I be doing something wrong? Or is there something I'm forgetting or do not know?
The technique I was using was basically where I form a ball of energy between my hands and make it move around and experiment with the size.

When I don't ground properly (before or after), it causes me to feel a bit funky, including headaches.

For me, most fo the time it's what TooSweet said, but sometimes it's because I get so focused on working that I forget to drink before or after so I get dehydration headaches.

When I've been to rituals where folks were a bit funky afterwards and needed help grounding again, folks tend to go for water and cheeseburgers. From what I've seen, protein and salt are great for grounding.

I would agree with what has been said already. If I don't properly ground after an exercise I am either drained and have a headache or I am hyper and have a headache. One case is an excess of energy and the other is a deficancy. Having something to eat will help you ground and refocus. If grounding doesn't work then you may just need quiet and rest so ibuprofen/Tylenol/pain killer is a good idea as is rest.

Hmm, I think improperly grounding could be my issue. I doubt it's dehydration because I always make sure I have a glass of water near at all times. I guess I've never thought to eat afterwards...well unless I was hungry obviously. I might give that a go. Thanks guys.

How am I not surprised to see "EAT MEAT TO FEEL BETTER" come from a heathen? emotion_awesome

Wiccans tend to feast after ritual as well, or at least have some nibblies around - food is one of the best ways to get yourself grounded after a ritual, and makes sure people hang around for social time and degauss a bit before heading off into the world again.

Also - this may sound daft - but maybe you're concentrating too hard.

I typically have nuts of some sort after intense energy work.

Sanguina Cruenta Also - this may sound daft - but maybe you're concentrating too hard. Actually that also could be one of my issues...I couldn't get the energy to spin anticlockwise so that was giving me some grief. Good point, thanks.
