Unfortunately, there was no time to help Drake search for Jayce. "That mischievous pup." he said to himself dashing straight over to the Emerald Falls within their territory. There he was to meet Zar'roc to go hunting. Shamrock had been doing well as a hunter. Although Shamrock has been having second thoughts regarding his pack status. Sage had brought it to his attention that he didn't have to settle as a hunter. Everyone saw great potential in him. It has always been in his interest to climb but never thought of the possibility. After having the conversation with Warlock, Drake, and Kora. Shamrock's step was much happier about the idea.

"Guardian or Warrior. . .imagine that?" he smiled daydreaming and once arriving. He notice Zar'roc had yet to arrive. "Whoooo. . .I thought I was late for sure." he gasped a sigh of relief.

Zar'roc pulled Voulge's reins down the path with Larka to meet Shamrock for todays hunt. Maybe the new pup Jayce will join them. It would be a good lesson for the boy. When they arrive to the falls had Shamrock beat them to it. "Just on time," he thought in a grin. "In fact, you arrive just on time," he spoke as Zar'roc stood behind the boy. "Lucky for you or I would have had you done a lap around the falls if you were a minute late," he tease. Smirking.

Shamrock raised a brow at Zar'rock and noticed Larka had come with him. He crossed his arms with a smirk when Zar'roc chose to correct him by saying "In fact, you arrive just on time, Lucky for you or I would have had you do a lap around the falls if you were a minute late,"

"Well, I wasn't. You were late. Although I was almost late because I was having a very important discussion with Kora and Warlock a while ago. It's about a very important decision I have made and something we need to discuss about as well." said Sham explaining. Shamrock was feeling very good about his decision and a little worried Zar'roc might not take the news well enough. Hopefully he doesn't think Kora was stealing his pupil from under him.

Zar'roc chuckle at Shamrock's come back, "Well, I wasn't. You were late..." But the rest had caught Zar'roc's attention which cause him to lift a brow in question. What could have Shamrock been speaking with Warlock and Kora about? And what did he need to speak with him about? Zar gave a sigh and said, "Well, let's have it then. What's so important that you have to tell me?" He had his arms cross as he awaited for Sham to speak. He could see the excitement bounce off the boy.

Shamrock was beginning to feel a little uncomfortable. He really respected Zar'roc and had truly learned a lot from him. Sham was also very thankful to Zar'roc for finding him as well. If it wasn't for Zar'roc going hunting that afternoon Shamrock would not be a Druid today. He remembered when Zar'roc had found him and how scared he was in the beginning. Shamrock doesn't like remembering the beginning because his memories wander toward his beloved sister Clover. Which always made him sad because they have yet to find her. He was beginning to believe that his little sister was probably with his mother in the great beyond. Suddenly Zar'roc's question snapped him out of his thoughts by asking "Well, let's have it then. What's so important that you have to tell me?"

"Zar'roc, I just want you to know that you have been a great mentor. It has nothing to do with you or you doing anything wrong. Because although Sage adopted me and I now have family. I have alway looked to you as an uncle." he stated and looked away embarressed. "Anyway, so Kora, Warlock, and myself have been talking about me switching ranks. . ." he began looking at Zar'rac and looked away to continue. "Yeah, I think I might want to be a guardian or warrior. . .??? Of coarse nothing is completely decided but yeah." he said hoping he didn't upset Zar'roc. "But until than Warlock says your responsible for me. I am to continue going on hunts with you to finish my training." he shared and looked to Zar'roc hoping he would approve.

(( Perhaps, you should have Zar'roc pretend he's happy but he's really not. And maybe cancel todays training. When Sham asks Zar'roc kind of gets upset and apologizes because however he feels of the situation. What do you think?))

As Zar'roc awaited for Shamrok's to answer did memories flooded his mind. He smirked as he remembered the day he found Sham as young pup, scared and alone. He reminded the boy of himself the day Zar arrive to the Druid pack. Except Zar was a yearling and Sham was just a pup. Za'roc could have adopted the boy as his own or take guardianship over him but, Zar didn't feel comfortable in raising a pup or didn't think he could. So, he was glad when Sage took Sham in to raise as her own and was honor to become his mentor.

"What's wrong kiddo? Cat caught your tongue," he teased. Then did Shamrock speak and Zar'roc lifted a brow. Something didn't feel right. But when the boy had said, "Anyway, so Kora, Warlock, and myself have been talking about me switching ranks. . ." Inside his head did Zar'roc scream, "What?!" Shamrock wanted to switch ranks? And just because he wanted to become a guardian or warrior this meant Shamrock had to change mentors! Zar'roc stood there silent until a smile appear on his face even though he felt hurt. Instead of showing off his true feelings did Zar show off a fake one and patted the boy's head.

"Well, good. I am glad that you... told me," he said in a serious tone of voice. "That just means, as of this moment you are no longer my student until things are decided," he said and walked past Sham and looked into the forest. He stopped himself forming walking any further, not looking at Larka or Shamrock. He gripped his right hand into a fist and pulled the hood of his cloak over his head.

((How's this? I had Zar say that Sham is no longer his student but should he still hunt with Zar?))

What Zar'roc said next surprised Shamrock and leaving the poor kid confused. "Well, good. I am glad that you... told me," and "That just means, as of this moment you are no longer my student until things are decided," causing Shamrock to look from Larka to Zar'roc in confusion.

"Bbbut you just said you were glad that I told you. Why are we canceling practice and saying I am no longer your student? Warlock said he wishes me to continue training until further notice..." he said looking at Zar'roc than over at Larka in confusion. Shamrock took notice of Zar'roc being upset when made a fist and threw his hood over his face usually meant he was upset. Shamrock felt the negative vibe coming from Zar'roc which made him uncomfortable. He thought Zar'roc of all people would accept his decision and wish him well toward his new rank. Instead Zar'roc was upset and this upset Shamrock. Shamrock approached Zar'roc in anger.

"You know what...I thought of all people besides Warlock, Sage, and-and Kora...you'd understand...instead your upset. I am not at all saying being a hunter is not an important rank. Being a hunter was all I knew because my father back home was a hunter. But you know whatever...maybe you and Larka should have pups. Because I am not your pup to have me do what you want me to do." he said in a serious grown up tone. "If you can't be happy than don't ever talk to me..."he said very upset and stormed off. "Your no different than her....." he grumbled as he left.

((When he said "her" he's talking about his aunt. ))

Larka walked up to Zar and sham over hearing their conversation. she sighed hearing sham was contemplating switching mentor, " well, if that that is truly what you want sham.... you are still young and need to discover things. so you have my blessing" she said brushing Zar'roc's face with her tail as trying to stop him as he walked past her a little pained by the youngsters word.

She wolfishly smiled at Sham as she looked away from Zar, " he'll be alright he just needs time to let it sink in" she told him, as she walked over to zar, licking his face. " it's alright dear, you don't need to feel so down by this. this doesn't diminish his respect and love for him" she said nuzzling up to him trying to cheer him up." I know he is like the son you don't have, but he needs to discover life for himself. be happy for him and approve" she exclaimed licking his face.

When Zar'roc then transform into his grey wolf form did he find himself regretting his choice of words and turned his head to speak but the boy had beaten him to it. His ears lowered but still continued to give a serious expression to try and hide his pain as Shamrock spoke. If he were any other wolf Zar'roc should have gotten mad with Shamrock for bringing Larka into the subject but held his tongue and continue to put on his serious expression which then defeated him. It faded the moment Sham said, "Your no different then her..." "Shamrock!" she shouted. Zar'roc took a step forward in an attempt to go after the pup but was stopped by Larka.

"He'll be alright he just needs time to let it sink in," she had told him. He sighs in defeat to sit on the ground to wrap his tail around his paws. She was right. He needs time to think. Zar'roc appreciated his mate's consoling words of wisdom and could only give her half a smile. "I know he is like the son you don't have, but he needs to discover life for himself. Be happy for him and approve," she told him before licking his face again.

"It is true. I do see the boy as my own, like a son... In the beginning he just started as my student that Sage and Druid bestowed upon me. I may have been rough on him but he took it as the good boy he was. Even if he was a sensitive boy. Still is... When I started out in the Druid pack I wasn't keen with all my pack mates and especially not with the foxes. I had plenty of trust issues due to my past but... I have to admit, Sham brought the best out of this stubborn wolf. I grew to love him even though I tried so hard to keep him at a distance. I told myself, "He's only a student Zar. Not your pup."...," he chuckles. "Darn! That pup would follow me where ever I went. Even when I told him to stay with Sage...," he grins. Then nuzzles Larka. He sighs. "If you ever wondered why I never adopted the pup it's because I wasn't ready to play the father role. I didn't believe I was the father he needed. And so, Sage adopted him," he shared.

Just as Shamrock was to storm off. The sound of Larka's voice made him stop dead in his tracks. She told him "he'll be alright he just needs time to let it sink in" Shamrock looked her way to show her respect. Although what he said was of coarse toward Zar'roc.

"Surrrrrrrre. Tell Zar'roc to take all the time he needs because I am in no mood to talk to him right now. I thought I was meant to be a hunter but I don't feel the same about being a hunter than when I began. I want to make a great impact with our pack. Maybe be a trainer someday. Maybe take in orphans like myself. Give them a place. Anyways. . .I'll give him his space but I'm going to need mine too." he said not looking at Zar'roc but gave Larka a short smile before leaving the falls area.

The kid was too darn sensitive. Zar'roc couldn't decided whether to carry on the hunt or go after Shamrock. But maybe Larka was right. Maybe the boy needed time to himself to think. Yeah. When Shamrock finally left he gave out a deep sigh and said, "Come on Larka. Lets continue to hunt. We got a pack to attend to as well." A hunt always did help Zar'roc clear his thoughts. He then lead the way in the forest. "Zar you old fool. Didn' you also once upon a time seek a higher rank," he thought to himself. "Perhaps, I will talk to the boy after the hunt," he told Larka.
