I...was once and may still be a Kagome-hater.
For one thing, perhaps it's not Kagome we hate. It may just be that we dont like Kikyou bashers...they just don't have reasons.

That's not a good reason to dislike Kagome.
People who bash Kikyou or Kagome usually think they have reasons, but that doesn't mean that their reasons aren't as easily torn through as wet Kleenex.
I hate people who bash either character, so by your logic I would have to hate both characters too. confused
What's wrong with Pro-Kikyou/Kagome, anti-hate?

Some of the Kikyou bashers have good reasons to dislike her. Though I never really hated Kikyou, I did start off finding her very annoying from time to time. What does Kikyou bashers have to do with Pro-Kagome people? Are you implying that all Pro-Kagome fans are anti-Kikyou? If that's so, then you've got another thing coming. There are plenty of pro-kagome and pro-Kikyou fans out there. That is why there is something called the Pro-Kagome, Pro-Kikyou guild. Personally, I find your theory: "If all fans like Kagome, then all pro-Kagome fans must dislike Kikyou" very shallow.

I used to hate Kagome, but that's a lie!
I hated Kagome because she was too goodie goodie, I only started liking her when I started reading the manga... she's a lot more kick butt then I ever thought! And she really loves InuYasha... that took so long to see... I feel dumb for have hating her... sweatdrop
...But I still like Kikyou more...

satsun I used to hate Kagome, but that's a lie! I hated Kagome because she was too goodie goodie, I only started liking her when I started reading the manga... she's a lot more kick butt then I ever thought! And she really loves InuYasha... that took so long to see... I feel dumb for have hating her... sweatdrop ...But I still like Kikyou more... It's okay. We all change. If we make a mistake, there is a reason for it. Nobody's perfect.

I don't know what's wrong with you guys either(pro-Kagome), but some just say that. *shrugs* I don't get what's wrong with either characters...okay fine, maybe in my opinion Kagome is a bit annoying. (And no, I'm not bashing her there.) But there's always ones who like, and others who dislike, you can't change that.

I personally love both characters, Kagome is just my choice if I had to choose between them. Most people that say they hate ANY character in ANY anime have really idiotic reasons, or childish ones.
Especially if they hate the villains, it's normally just because they are the antagonist and nobody is effing allowed to like the most awsome badguy (hullo! Naraku is feggin awsome!).....

I listen to ppl that are anti-kagome and their reasonings are a bit lame, like she's whinny and all that S*** but i go real on them meanin, i ask them, Would be like kagome if they there?

But the fact is, a great amount of Kagome fans are also the same people who say, "i like kagome i hate kikko!!" ...like roxxey here, for instance. And when someone disses a character you love and likes a character you already find kinda annoying, you tend to feel compelled to diss their favorite character in turn.
This generally turns into one of the many infamous Kagome vs. Kikyou wars, which only generates more hate from both sides and doesn't resolve anything, only resulting in getting 2 (and usually a hell lot more) people veryveryvery pissed off at each other. In defending your favorite character, its extremely difficult to remain respectful to your 'opponent's' favorite character because you want to take offense as well; you want to make them as angry as they made you.
In this process you'll probably wind up hating the character you insult even more. You get angry arguing with all these people that seem to have the same opinion and are all stacked against you and label in your mind, "Kagome/Kikyou lovers all hate Kikyou/Kagome! So I hate Kagome/Kikyou because they say Kagome/Kikyou is better than Kikyou/Kagome!!"
Let's face it darlings, Rumiko Takahashi basically set it up that way for fans to think like that. I mean, at a certain miko's demise Kagome even states she hated Kikyou. But then she went on to say how she still thought of Kikyou as 'evil' like she was at the beginning, and Kikyou wasn't anymore but she still thought of her that way and felt like a horrible person, etc. etc.
I think Takahashi meant for the reader to be experiencing the same thing as Kagome and sympathize with her. Its very easy to start thinking the way SecretAgentX has.
Sure, its shallow; its also human. People aren't all that great, you know; we get jealous, we get mad about stupid things, we have those pesky little things called emotions that get in the way of thinking clearly and doing what one person might think is the right thing and another person thinks is whack. A person shouldn't have to be totally pure and always do the right thing to make us like them; I mean, if everyone did that there'd be no problems, no stories to tell and I'd probably die of boredom. Let's be like Kagome and forgive a little, ne?

Just because you hate kikyo haters doesn't give you a good reason to diss Kagome like that. I can see where your coming from, but I'm pro Kagome and pro Kikyo (even though I didn't join the guild). Kagome just happens to be the character I like better, because I can relate to her more.

when i say this i mean no beef with anyone and i'm not saying it to start trouble.
i have always liked kagome and hated kikyo. kagome will always rock and i again me no disrespecet but kikyo is a total b***h to me always has been and always will .... i did feel sorry for her when she first came back and thought that inuyasha killed and betrayed her but after she found out and still wants to kill him makes her a b***h in my book .... she chose to die so don't b***h about it now. stupid kikyo.
this is just my opioin and if it offends i again mean no disrespect if you like kikyo that is fine but i don't kagome is the right one for inuyasha.
