Times have changed. The world as we knew it is over. Now, The Veil between our world and the world of magic has vanished. The Earth is in chaos. Tombs and Temples have materialized around the globe, containing within them tomes of magic, allowing anyone who reads them to possess a power, but only one. Once a tome is read, the others have blank pages and are unreadable. Despite this drawback, society has collapsed under the weight of its own Evil, and the world is all but destroyed. But, there are some people who do not need the tomes for magic, but have powers of their own. The ones who have not been corrupted by the power must defend against those who have, surviving humanity on..
The Apocalypse has arrived. The world has been destroyed by magic. People must defend the Earth and restore order where there is Chaos. The uncorrupted fight the corrupted. Survive.

Name: Corraí Doyle, or Cord, for short.
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Power, if any, (If used a tome, say which): (Natural Ability) Power to control temperature in both ways to any degree. (Pun intended)
Weapons: He carries a small pouch of water, and vials of various powdered metals with him at all times and a small dagger as a back up.
Bio: Born as the son of a chemist, who ironically studied Thermochemistry, Cord grew up learning about how molecules and energy affected temperature and matter. At 24 he graduated college with a degree in Thermochemistry, like his father. When The Shift happened, at age 28, he was just sitting down to read a book by his fireplace, in his bathrobe, with a glass of ice water when he blacked out, and awoke with his abilities.

Gender: Female
Power: Destruction
Weapons: Throwing knives, and daggers.
Bio: Simone is essentially an assassin. Although she isn't labeled as one, she may as well be. Her skill with her knives is virtually flawless. She was a very destructive child growing up. She didn't understand her ability to destroy everything in her wake until she was older, and still has little control over it, so tries to keep from becoming too attatched to any one person.

Simone stared out the window of the small diner in the middle of nowhere, that had somehow survived, sipping a Cola. She was unsure where she would go from here, but resolved to keep moving. It never did her, or anyone else, any good to stay in one place too long..

Cord was walking down an abandoned road, watching the debris floats through the air.. "This place sure has changed..." He said to himself. "What is that..?" He mutters as he spots a small building that is somehow still standing and, even stranger, has lights! He starts walking towards it.

After a while, Simone spotted a man coming towards the diner. She stood up and laid her money down on the table. Time to go, she thought to herself. She had a strict rule of 'No Friends Allowed'. She couldn't afford to talk to the stranger who was, no doubt, going to come inside. "Thank you.." She mumbled, and left, taking her Cola with her. She had also bought a few extras, which she shoved into her pack on the way out the door.

Cord sees a woman exiting the building, he hurries up to catch up with her, as she is the first not-frenzied human he has seen in weeks. "Hey!" He shouts, jogging up to her.

Simone glanced back momentarily, then hurried on, pretending not to have heard the man. She finished her Cola, crunched up the can, and tossed it aside.

(What do you think of one character being immune from her "Black Cat" effects? Give her some sort of solace. :0)

((well, I was kind of wondering, cuz when I think of her destruction I think like.. things catch on fire or explode or something. but he should be able to survive it if he's mister temperature man xDD But i dont really want anyone to be completely immune. They might be able to withstand certain effects, but I want her to suffer xDDD))
Simone frowned. "Hangin around me isn't good for your health." She grumbled.

(What if things happen worse to other people when Im around? Or just minor bad luck?)
"Neither is being able to do this," He picks up a rock. After a few moments it turns read, then molten, then drips off my hand. "Do you know how many handshakes that's ruined?" He says with a little chuckle, "Well.. none, but it sure could!"
