Lili signed softly, a dreamy expression on her face as she laid curled about a small, delicate looking flower. It's white petals, silky and soft, lay against her belly and were near invisible against the color of her fur. She knew right away that she was in love with it.
She gently nuzzled her face into the flower, smelling and feeling it's very being, though she was careful not to drain any energy from it as her and her family did their meals. Animals were food, not beautiful plants such as this, nor those around her that sprouted from mother earth. These were her beliefs, and woe be those who challenged her on them.
She giggled brightly when the flower's petals tickled her nose, before she sighed again and smiled happily at it. 'Mm...I wish I looked like you...So soft, and pretty....I'll protect you, from everything.' She whispered to it, as tenderly as one would a lover. 'No one will eat you, ever.'

"That seems a bit extreme." DeValo appeared from behind his sister. The flower his sister was so enamored with was pretty, this was true, but the idea of protecting something rooted to the ground forever just struck him as silly. "You can't possibly protect it forever." He sunk low to the ground to look at the flower, and his sister, more closely.

Liliace blinked and looked at her brother as if she didn't quite realize he was actually there. 'But someone has to protect it, or it will die.' She said softly, her brown eyes blinking slowly as she studied DeValo closely. 'I don't think that it will survive if I do not protect it. If I dont protect it, then someone is going to eat it, or stomp it, or something else it, and it will die. I'm the only one who can protect it.' She stated matter-of-factly. She carefully uncurled herself from the flower, gently nuzzling the flower again. 'This flower is my baby, and I have to protect it.'

"Well, what about that tree?" He nodded toward the tree behind her. "I don't think anyone protected that, and it's fine." He kind of understood how Lili felt. After all, wasn't he always trying to protect their brother Rai? He didn't know what made his brother so scared all the time, but DeValo did his best to keep him smiling. He didn't quite see how doing that for a flower made any sense though. "Lili, how are you going to protect it forever?"

Liliace looked toward the tree her brother nodded at, her brown eyes staring at it as if she were seeking something from it before she looked at Devalo again. "The tree has bark to protect it, and it's size keeps it safe from most things now." She explained patiently. "But the flower doesnt have anything like that. So I'll lay right here and protect it with my claws."
She nodded as if this were the only answer there was. "Besides, we're never going to die, right?" She asked calmly, standing up so she could move around the flower and look at it closely. "Since we're never going to die, I can stay here forever and keep the flower and it's seeds safe forever."

DeValo had to admit his sister had a point. He still didn't think that it was necessary. He appreciated his sisters' love of nature, but he did not feel quite the same way about it. I thought it beautiful, but he also thought it powerful. Nature was well beyond the protection of a young kage.
DeValo rolled about in the dirt. "Does it have a name? Your flower?" Maybe that was part of his problem, he didn't know anything about flowers. He was more interested in the trees, specifically the roots and branches that made for good hiding places.

Liliace smiled fondly, nodding as she looked at her brother again. "This type is known as a Lilium Casa Blanca. It is a vigorous grower, and has a very beautiful perfume to it." She explained, eager to share her knowledge of the flower.
"The Lilium genus of flowers is a very large genus. I mean, there are so many different kinds of them. Large and small, there are many of different colors, and a lot of them grow is different places too." She sighed happily as she turned back to the flower. "It is truly a great family of flowering plants."
She felt sorry that her brother couldn't understand the bond that nature and her had. If she'd the choice, all her family would have the same bond as she did with nature.

"Lilium Casa Blanca..." he leaned in close to the flower. These kinds of things were important to his sister. Personally he didn't feel quite so attached to things like this, but he didn't mind trying to learn. He took a big sniff, wrinkled his nose, and sneezed. Luckily, he turned his head enough that his sneeze only just hit the flower. Certainly not enough to destroy it, but enough to blow it back a bit. "It does smell good."

Liliace nearly jumped out of her skin when her brother sneezed on the flower. She momentarily felt like telling himm it might be best for him to leave, or at least go further away from her flower, but his compliment placated her. She sighed, nuzzling the flower before nodding to him.
"It really does. One day, I hope to have a lot of them all over the forest floor." She explained, glancing around. "If I take good care of this one, many of it's children will grow here, and the whole forest will be alive with their perfumes."

"That would be pretty cool." DeValo smiled at his sister and decided it was probably best if he left her to it. He knew he was not exactly the most gentle creature. Having already nearly destroyed the flower, he was not interested in doing it further harm. "Good luck Lili. I'm gonna get out of here before I mess it all up." He smiled at her and started back toward their home.
