"I don't like this place." She stated again, for what could have been the twelfth time in less then five minutes. She was zooming from one side of her larger, fluffier companion, to the other side without much hesitation. "The water looks icky. And it's raining. And there aren't any trees. Did we kill the sun?" She asked, stopping suddenly to look up. "Asae~ I think we killed the suuun~" Elumani proclaimed, in the same sing song voice one would use when tattling on a sibling, as she started prancing to catch back up to the spiritual. "It's just clouds, Lumi." Asa explained, giving herself a good shake to rid her thick fur of the water that was soaking it. It made her feel much heavier then she was, and she was quite ready to be done with this place and it's constant wetness. "The bigger issue if that there isnt much to eat around here. So we can't stay too long." Even as she said this, though, she saw her friend bolting left and right to stare into the murky water that was on either side of them.
"Don't fall in. You never know what might be down there waiting to eat you." She half joked, hoping to scare the smaller kage into sticking closer to her side."Like a human?!" Elumani exclaimed, fairly wagging her tail as she brought her face closer to he water surface. "Anything down there? I'll eat you~!" She called loudly, as if it were the proper way to greet someone. "I bet you'll be yummy, so come on out and play!" Asaelli sighed, though she couldn't suppress a smile as she watched her friend. The kage was so childish and innocent at times, and Asae was worried about her being able to survive alone if something were to separate them. "Hun, there's nothing around here. We're wasting time." She tried to explain, though she sat down because she knew how stubborn Lumi could be.

He wished the humans had not been so dead set on hurting him. He had not hurt anyone. He had not done any damage to their fishing boats. Still, something about his presence had stirred up the villagers and this was the end result. He had fled blindly to the north. Further north then he had ever wanted to go. He could not smell where the river was due to the fact that there seemed to be water everywhere here! But it was just so terribly gloomy. Annan's tail dragged through muddy puddles as he wandered a dreary landscape that he felt he had absolutely no part of. A part of him hoped that eventually he would wander across a shore. The sea had always been a place he wanted to see, though he'd never had the motivation to leave his little stretch of river.
A depressed nature was not one that Annan felt comfortable with. So as he walked along, he tried to make a game for himself. With so many puddles around, he started to jump from one to another. The game was simple. He had to avoid stepping on any dry land. Well..as dry as it could seem in a place like this.
Splash splash! Splash Splash! The more he focused on playing a game, the less depressed he felt, until he almost forgot the ordeal he'd gone through to get this far. With a barking laugh sound, he slipped and fell into a puddle after the muddy bottom proved too gooshy and his jumping a little too uncontrolled.

Elumani finally sighed and left the dark watery surface behind her. She walked on a few paces with a bit of a pout, then froze when she heard something echo through the area, faintly hidden by the sound of the rain. A bark?
Asaelli jumped to her feet, stalking over to Lumi with a suspicious look on her face. She knew her friend as well as she did her own paw, and she knew that Lumi was going to want to bolt off and check out the sound they'd both just faintly heard. "Hold it, small fry." She rumbled, biting a hold of Lumi's tail to keep her from running off. "We don't know what or who that is. Remember, humans have dogs, and you remember what the last pack of dogs was like...right?"
Elumani bounced slightly, she body quivering with excitement. "Fun fun fun~" She sang happily, looking back toward Asae with her bright blue eyes open wide. "They chased me round and round, but then I eated them. They didn't like that much."
Asae sighed, but couldnt stop herself from smiling. "Most things dont like to be eaten, dear." She scolded, though it was softly and without much force behind it. She finally released Lumi's tail, now that she was sure the kage was focused on her and willing to listen. "Now, we're going to have to check that noise out, but I want you to stay within eyesight. Got it?"
Elumani bounced a few paces away, then wagged her tail and nodded. "Okay okay, eye sight, gotcha." She agreed quickly, before bolting a good 5 meters away and calling out again. "Hello! Are you there?" She looked back at Asae, making sure the kage was following and still within sight, then she bolted forward again with a giggle. "Come out, come out! I want to play! Hey, I promise I'll not eat you, okay?"

Annan kicked his paws in the mud, uncaring of the brown soggy earth that coated his sleek colorful fure. He was playing and all was good in the world! At least for the next few minutes they were. He heard then a call. Not a verbal one as the animals or the humans may make. But one that called within his head. There was only one creature that did that! Other kage! Kicking his legs under him, he vaulted from his puddle and bounded through the rainy mist in the direction he 'felt' the call seemed strongest.
It never once occurred to Annan that perhaps he should exercise caution in approaching the stranger. The voice could have belonged to a Hell kage. Or a Temporal! No, such concerns did not flutter through his head. Bouncing along, he cocked his ears forwards and then sent his thoughts through the fog. ~Play? Oh I want to play!~ he eagerly replied. The promise of not eating was a good one as well of course! Through the mists, the first think he noted was what seemed to be a glow that reminded him of his own stripes. A teal and a purple that just pierced the fog. Though there seemed to be a bright green and yellow that stood out boldly amid the gray. Annan's eyes lit up when the pair of females became easier to see in the mist. One was all shaggy..and soaked. Clearly she was not meant to get this wet. The other seemed far more like him, and Annan galumphed through mud, puddles, and fog towards the foremost female. his ears quivered with excitement. ~Hi hi hi! You want to play?~

A verbal squeak came out of Elumani's throat and she bounced forward toward the brightly colored male that had answered her calls, splashing through puddles of water as she went. Her ears were pointed straight forward, focused on him as she stopped a foot away, nearly nose to nose with him, her eyes wide. "Hello, hello! I'm Elumani, I promise I wont eat you!" She exclaimed excitedly, her tail wagging behind her. "I want to play, too! You'll play, you'll play?" She asked, with a bit of an impatient wiggle to her rear end as she watched him closely for a response.
Asaelli froze when she had heard the reply call to Lumi, and first saw the strange male's colors moving toward them through the fog, but as Lumi ran up to him, Asae knew right away that he belonged in this dank, dark place about as much as they themselves did. She approached much slower, being obviously more careful to avoid slipping and sliding in the mud. Being wet was heavy enough, adding a coat or two of thick mud was unacceptable.
"Good evening sir." She addressed the male politely, a bit wry. He had said he wanted to play, but who knew what kind of play he'd meant. Asaelli was quite sure a darker breed of kage would call murdering one another 'play'.
