This stuff is so soft I swear it was knitted spun from baby calico persians. Magical baby calico persians.
Aaaand I bought enough that if they were actual kittens and not from the same litter I could start my own calico breeding business. 4realz. It's embarrassing really.
And if you rushed in here expecting cuteness and now would like to smack me:
Rafi-inna-bitty-box.
Nixed photos to image-lighten the post. heart

My one cat Mordor will try to fit himself in any box he possibly can, regardless of size.

Mordor. rofl Awesome. I think he and Rafi & Leo might be separated at birth.
Le spent most of yesterday wedged into a triangular section of box I was breaking down between tasks. At one point I went to pick it up and almost threw my back out. Le is Hyoooge.
Picture: At one point H needed to send his cell phone in for repairs so they mailed us a postage-paid box inside that box. Rafi couldn't fit in the other one. Almost ruined it trying. Thereagain in all honesty he didn't really fit in the box in the picture either. But he tried, bless his furry heart.
Edit: Oh yeah, it'll probably never happen but if I took picture(s) of the stuff I've knitted would anyone care to see them?

I wanna see your knitting!
We went shopping yesterday so we had paper bags and Mordor spent a good half hour or more just hitting the bag that was lying on the floor. Finally my mom got fed up and pressed it down flat to see if that's what he wanted and yeah, he sat on it and was content.

Mental Mordor. ^_^ Oh wait, he's a cat. That's just the way it works. rofl
Le likes paper bags too and he will eventually crush them and lay on them but first he likes it when they're sitting up on their end. He'll SPRING straight into them (usually without hitting the sides at all O.o; ) and hunker down waiting for some hapless fool to look inside.
We got the boys a cat tree thing--henceforward to be known as The Throne (TM.) Leo lives on that damn thing. It has an opening in the top bed doohickey where he can reach through and smack the dogs. Well, mainly B. 'Narii won't stick her head in there. Bad thing is, H likes to use it as a table when he comes in/goes out. Whenever there's something on it Leo will try to melt the offender with his lazer stare. He unpacked the Ninja on it the other day and I thought Le was going to turn inside-out. I personally am waiting for the day when H puts something on there and Leo comes and smacks him one.
Had some time yesterday to pull all the knitting projects together. My favorite one didn't photograph well I don't think. Haven't had time yet this morning to edit pictures as my laptop decided to explode again. crying It's up and running now but I am so ready to replace it. I'm sick of this.

Okies, here we go:
*edit*
1: Practice piece, coin purse 2: Practice piece, sunglasses case (bleh) 3: H's scarf (it's what he wanted) 4: Hat 5: MY awesome scarf XD I will be redoing this one maybe in a different stitch but definitely with the big green panels smaller. It means more ends woven but it'll be closer to what I actually wanted to begin with. Need to buy more of that green yarn though. The stitch I used EATS yarn but I love it. It's so beautiful and squishy. 6: My favorite project. Horseshoe cable hand warmers. They will not photograph appropriately but still. And so easy. Knocked them out in just a few hours. The hardest part was the cabling and that wasn't that hard. Though I think I need to invest in a double pointed needle. That'd make it even easier. 7: Big swatch. I wanted to see how variegated yarn did under certain conditions. The yarn is worsted but I doubled it to make it bulky and then did seed stitch. I kinda like it...but now I can't remember why I was experimenting. All I know is it had something to do with the yarn left over from #6. 8: Blanket block. I haven't decided yet if I want to do strips or blocks. In any case I'm going to need lots more Autumn Red yarn. <3 I need to finish it though 'cause I want to try the kitten yarn on my big needles. 9: Hat #2. This one is turning out weird. First that yarn is slightly sparkly which is awesome. Second, I'm using a pattern for a men's sized knit hat and I'm still certain that like #3 it's going to squeeze my little pin head. =( Edit: But the yarn I'm using is also a little lighter weight than it should be. Too heavy to be light but way too light to be a proper worsted weight I think.
*edit*
Picture still doesn't show the cabling very well. I think I should've found something black/dark to photo it against. At any rate I'll be doing more of these with different yarns in different lengths and fitted seaming. I've got a pretty gray-brown with cobalt that I want to do and when I'm done with this goofy hat (#9) I'll probably do a pair with the leftover yarn.
Link for the pattern which shows a lovely photo:

Mel; You're kind of a knitting machine. Wow. That seems like a lot of stuff since December given how busy you are.

ME>Wish I could show them to you in person. The camera washed out the color. It's got aqua, turquoise, true blue, cobalt, cornflower, purple, amethyst, medium teal and dark teal involved there.
V>And I finished #9 yesterday. ('Course I didn't knit the last 3 inches the pattern called for but meh...I thought I was going to have company and I wanted something off my to-do list. More on that in another post.)
Oh yeah, and since I emptied my bamboo needles I started knitting with the kitten yarn. Giant pain in the butt. It's really easy to poke through the fibers. Gotta finish that red block so I can try it on bigger (albeit slick aluminum) needles.

Aww hope it gets easier to knit with Felly...maybe it's just because it's a new yarn?

A little bit, yeah. Mostly though it has to do with the slipperiness and the way it's woven. If you've ever seen a nylon rope (or even a bungee cord) it's got that ziggy-zaggy woven outside over a core...well this is like that except no core. It's a hollow rope kind of thing and the strands that make up that woven part are themselves kind of loose and open. I'll try to get a picture maybe.

Ok, hopefully these show what I'm talking about. I've run a needle up the center of the tail a bit. These fibers are so fuzzy the tiniest bit of roughness on the fingers will actually catch/snag.
