What exactly does taking a break from a relationship even mean? Ask for more clarification about the situation of needed :/

Since you helped me, I shall help you. emotion_hug My view on it is an actual break up. If it is a break and not a weak attempt at a break up, then it's normally a short time period. Both persons is allowed to see someone else and perhaps be intimate with be intimate with them. But! The break part means both parties have plans on getting back together in the future.

i think ht taking a break in a relationship simply means that u or ur partner has reached a sense of confusion in ur relationship and u need a break from eachother for a little while. this is where you decide about ur feelings for eachother if u are really passionate or not about this relationship. But heyy i could be wrong.

I guess I should update this with the really bad news :/ Though she still says that are relationship is considered 'complicated', she also admits that it she doesn't really understand 'breaks' and decided just to break-up with me.... Also, as of April 1, she has a new girlfriend... Whom I know and hate... They have been living together for awhile, along with 3 boys in a town house type thing, and her new girlfriend claimed for the longest time to be straight, no were near lesbian or even bi.... None of our friends are happy... I still love my, now, ex-girlfriend, and she claims to still love me (she confuses me greatly :/)... I'm determined to wait it out and see how things go. Luckily, I'll be going to college in August and will be around hundreds of new people...

Considering I recently just said this to my girlfriend think I can help you. Of course this is me and not sure about anyone else. For me it meant I just need time to figure some things out to figure out if I want to be with this person. But in my head I really wanted to be with them I just needed time to make sure it was what my heart wanted. I think sometimes if people are in long relationships or if they are struggling with figuring themselves out they just need a break. need to take s step back and try to figure things out on their own without having to worry about an obligation to someone they are with.
