I'm asking because I saw a youth group with 50 people go all the way down to six because the youth pastor had no vision for it. It's awesome that we've got seven members now who have said they're here, but just the desire to keep a Christian guild afloat probably won't save this. We can keep this as a Refuge, we could change it, but whatever we do, it needs to be in honor of God and it needs to get us all fired up.

So questions:
1) If you think this guild should remain Refuge, what would make this a Refuge for you? What kind of topics should we be posting?

2) If not, what do you think the guild should be focused on? Any alternative name suggestions? How can we make this a Christian guild you want to come back to?

Oh wow, i'm impressed captain..sounds like you really want this guild to come back to life again..well that's a good start.. smile

1. I don't think we need a name change for the guild (in my opinion). The guild is called Refuge and it would be nicer if it would also be a refuge to those people who are not Christians (i.e. Non-Christian people who are already feeling God's touch, and are now considering / already curious / already thinking of following Christ.People who backslide and are now returning to Jesus) I for one found this guild when I was in a real deep search for God back then. Games and stories are nice but i think we should have a whole separate section for those. What I think we should post more, is of course, about God and His wonderful Word (For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. -- Hebrews 4:12 NIV). EVen if we don't get much posts and replies to threads we will be posting in the future, it's still up to God to touch the hearts of the readers here. We may not know it but maybe it's already having a deep effect in their lives. heart So it's really necessary to post things about God, His goodness, His ways, His character and how He works in people's hearts not only in good times but also when they face situations.

2. Haha, as I've suggested in number 1, i don't think we need a name change. Being a "Refuge" is all we need to do. Being conducive to both mature and new Christians alike, and even to non-Christian people (though I honestly don't know how to really deal with them, but of course, not to force them or anything.. xd ). An environment where they could post their concerns / problems / situations without being ashamed because they know that this is a Christian community and that no one will be condemned or laughed at. And that the community could give them Biblical insights through God's Word and so that this guild will be a part of their personal spiritual growth especially in times of trials, doubts, and temptations. May I also suggest that we should work on devotions, songs, and testimonies of God's goodness to encourage others... wink

Reviving a guild like this is pretty hard so it's okay to start small...but i hope eventually it'll come bigger. emotion_kirakira

Okay, I hope I'm not blabbering too much...not trying to sound super spiritual or anything...just airing my thoughts and thanks for taking time to read..God bless y'all!! xd

You aren't blabbering at all. xd It's awesome to have some feedback to implement. biggrin

You're right that we need more threads about God. I was kinda using the games in hopes they'd be a fast way to spike the activity and get some regulars, and I was procrastinating on posting heavier stuff because it takes a while to type, but we need some of it. I'll get to work on some of that during the next few days and see what I can come up with. I might also post a topic in the M+R when I can get up the courage, asking for some Christians to come teach on what they know. We're making the steps towards the supportive Christian community you described; it's just going to take some time I think.

Airing your thoughts gives me an idea of where we need to head, so it's seriously helpful. :3 Thanks for posting! biggrin

glad you appreciate it..the games and stuff section is totally okay though just as i said though i would again suggest that we make a separate section for that..

and nah, no need to procrastinate..let's build things up little by little until it gets bigger..got that from our pastor's sermon about a couple of weeks ago..if we have few people who posts it's okay..what's important is the content...the important thing is it would somehow touch them in a good way whether they reply or not..it's not just the post we're aiming right? though it's good to hear from them...

i have lots of Christian articles here which i post on facebook and tag my friends with, and quiet plenty of song collections..i'm actually thinking of posting some here..but since i'm only free on saturdays i think i can only volunteer to work on those days...but it still depends on my schedule though..but i would really like to help out even in some little ways i can... smile

and if that happens, probably i'll be on gaia again more often... emotion_bigheart emotion_yatta
