Dakota arrived early to set up the training field. She had asked her new wheeler to come and train with her early this morning to get some one on one time in. She mostly wanted to see what he knew already and what he could do, and if wheel was really the right position for him. She planned to do the same for all the new recruits, as it was her responsibility as leader.
She placed markers along the field, indicating obstacles that he would be avoiding and readied the makeshift sled, designed to simulate the real thing, but only the weight that one dog would be pulling. She'd also brought some snacks for them for after training. She had managed to sneak away with some tasty protein treats her master saved as rewards for a good run, thinking it a great incentive for a good training session.
The bright sun shone just above the trees now, meaning it was nearly time for Delarian to arrive. She double checked she had everything ready and went to sit and wait in the shade of a nearby tree.

Delarian lifted his face to the sun as he paced to the meeting place. It was a fantastic day out, and he would have been just as pleased to lay around in his yard with his human pup, but his lead had other plans, and that meant he had to work. Not that he was complaining. She'd personally asked him to meet her. Alone. He was a lucky boy.
He grinned as he spotted her resting under the shade, having already seen all the equipment. She was going to make him work for his fun. "Hey, Boss. What's on the agenda?"

She smiled as he approached and stood to greet him. "Good morning, Delarian." She walked towards him, inspecting his physique. "Well, first off, we'll warm up, get the juices pumping." She stopped in front of him. "Before we do that, why don't you tell me about yourself. Have you been on a team before? I see that you wear the harness already, so I assume you have, but sometimes assumptions can be wrong."
