This week's theme is cleansing or stripping of spells from objects.

This may be a bit harder to find if specifically related to removing something from an object - but it doesn't have to be. It could be personal cleansing or just cleansing in general.

I am allowing internet sources this week as well because of the late theme posting.

By request this has been extended into this week. If you'd like to participate you can!

Spell Name: Garlic Cleansing Spell

1. Place the reserved garlic peel in a mortar and pestle and add brown sugar.
2. Pound and grind them together.
3. Sprinkle the result onto lit charcoal or burn it on a cast iron pan.
4. Waft the fumes over the areas to be cleansed, allowing the aroma to permeate and settle.

Note:

There's about four of these, this is the first of them.

Readaption 1:

Boil a little bit of garlic in a pot of water, Add other things like lemon peels so that there's a light scent to it.
Stir in Salt, I prefer sea-salt myself.
Gather it in a bowl (you're going to need a pot of water if your house is fairly big, so a bowl makes it easier to carry in) and grab a rag (clean one).
Begin at top of your main door frame and then follow throughout the house dipping the rag in the bowl of water and tracing all of your baseboards.
Replace water as needed.
Then follow the baseboards all the way back to the main part of the house.

Then take a broom (because reaching this is a pain in the a**), submerge lightly, and gently go from the baseboards to the ceiling in all the corners.
Then trace the edges of the ceiling.

What you're doing here is establishing the outlines of the house.

Then burn some incense walk from the front of the house waffing the incense throughout the house to the back. If you have an upstairs, do upstairs first and then come down and push it out the back.

Push everything until it's at the backdoor/back windows of your home, open the door/open the windows. And fan until the incense has passed through all of the openings in your home.

What you're doing is pushing everything out the back door and when you close the door or window in the back of the house. You've sealed your home from unwanted intentions.

Believe me, you'll know exactly when someone's been in your home without you letting them in. I did.

Author: Kate West
Title of Source: The Real Witches' Book of Spells and Rituals
Spell Name: N/A

This book didn't actually give a ritual for this, just methods for cleansing, and that is why I'm picking it because I work in a similar way. Anyway here's what's written in the book.

Cleansing An Object

Anything you purchase will have been handled by other people and will have traces of their energies on it. This particularly applies to anything second-hand where it may have been used for a number of purposes before you receive it. Obviously, anything you intend to use magically or in a spell will need these energies removed before you use it. There are several ways to cleanse an item and you will need to select the most suitable, as some techniques are definitely wrong for some things - for example, you wouldn't run a book under water for 10 minutes.

Moonlight: An item can be placed in the light of the Full Moon overnight and the Moon will not only cleanse it but will empower it too. It is best to do this on a windowsill, especially for small items, as just placing it outside can result in it being moved or you forgetting where you put it. An indoor windowsill is also better as your item is less likely to be knocked off by a curious bird, or blown off in a high wind.

Running water: Many things can be placed under running water for 10 minutes whilst you visualize all the negativity being washed away. Obviously this is no use for anything that will spoil through getting wet.

Through the elements: You can cleanse an item by passing it through the elements in the same way as you would consecrate it. But do be aware that this means taking an uncleansed item into the Circle.
