As missions went, this had to be one of the most annoying. Nothing but reconnaissance. Scope out an enemy base, get a decent layout of defenses, and high-tail it back to Earth. It was something he excelled at, to be sure, and that was part of the problem. Still, the sooner he went, the sooner he'd be gone. And that would only happen if he encountered no complications. And that would only happen if he was on top of his game.

Or so he thought...

The mute priestess of Solaria's main temple knelt before the food-laden altar used to offer sustenance and tribute to the Trickster Dragon in hopes that he would remain friendly to the people. Oddly, there was something sparkling there that shouldn't have been there. It was for food, after all, and not monetary offerings. She picked it up gently and tilted it back and forth under the candlelight, watching it catch and scatter the light. It was certainly valuable and gorgeous. She couldn't deny it had an oddly attractive quality to it, and made her want to keep it to herself. But, the priestess' sense of duty was far more than any sense of desire for a sparkly bauble, and she immediately headed out to inform the queen that an unknown gemstone of magical origin had been left in the temple.

A few hours later, looking lost and alone, she was stepping lightly from a portal in an apartment on Earth, leaving the building and blinking in the too-bright sunlight after being so used to the perpetual navy sky of Solaria. She would need to find some way to shield her sensitive eyes from the glare of her home. Holding a hand up to her face like a visor, she looked around silently. There were people with .... things on their faces like she had seen the queen's adopted daughter wearing, but tinted black. And none of those people were squinting or seemed bothered by the light. Maybe they aided with vision in bright light much like Sariah's aided with her vision in general. It would certainly be worth a chance. If only she could communicate with one of the shop keepers around though, it would be all the better. Oh, how she hated being mute! She could never share her thoughts with anyone that didn't have telepathy.

The Aquamarine Knight
Saren's eyes narrowed slightly as he stepped outside, trying to protect himself from the ultraviolet rays stinging at his eyes. He pulled his sunglasses from his pocket and put them on, then headed for the spot where his contact was waiting. Hope he's actually waiting there. I'd hate to be waiting for him...
