My Kage
I just won my first kage in the rebuild event flaffle. Any advice on anything kage related at all would be lovely. I want to rp my little guy! Send me a pm?

Name meaning: Victorious one
Origin: Rebuild Event flaffle  Personality: Inquisitive, hyper, silly, he wants to explore EVERYTHING Likes: exploring, cuddling, swimming Dislikes: thoughtspeak (it's difficult for him) Sometimes he can hear a small, distant noise, like someone's trying to whisper to him from too far away. It's likely that another soul was trapped within his body, but just partially. It doesn't bother him. Instead, he tries to speak to it. It seems to respond, though he can never make out what it says. Unlike thoughtspeak with humans, speaking to this distant voice is easy for Cairo. It feels like talking with an old friend.Human: Lexi. Lexi lives in a tiny house on the river's edge. Her mother makes scented soaps and sells them from a tiny stand in the market by the river. Her father used to sell fur pelts, but he fell sick sick several months ago. Now he can't get out of bed, let alone hunt. Lexi had to drop out of school and start spending her days at work with her mother. Most days, Lexi's grandmother stays home to care for her father and the baby, but once or twice a week, she will come to the river with Lexi to give her lessons while she works.Story: Cairo's first memories are of being in a net enclosure deep underwater. He vaguely remembers contently floating around within it. One day, he chewed through the netting and let the current carry him downriver.
One night, when Lexi had to stay late to prepare extra soap for a sale the next day, she found Cairo bouncing around at the edge of the shore. She had heard of kage before. They would steal and kill and suck the life from you. This little ball of yellow adorableness could not be a kage. Plus, she had never heard of kage with fins. Still, if the wrong people found him, he would be killed for looking like one, so Lexi chased him down, tucked him under her jacket, and hurried home.
When she finally reached her room, she slammed the door behind her and threw the little thing onto the floor. He wasn't so cute now that he'd given her a couple of good bites on her ribs. She whispered so that no one would hear, but her tone was harsh, "I'm not just carrying you around for fun! If they find you they'll kill you!"
Lexi had mostly been talking for her own comfort, the way humans talk to dogs, not expecting a response. She froze with fear when she heard the word, "Who?"
And that's how Lexi found out she was harboring a kage in her room. She explained to Cairo that he needed to hide. She eventually convinced him to hide under her bed while people were home, and to never ever steal her sister's energy. She was only 10 months old, after all.
It has only been a few days, but Lexi's not sure how long she can keep this up. Cairo is surviving on her energy alone. Each morning, she wakes up more tired than the night before. She can barely function at the shop. And Cairo is going crazy from being locked in a room all day. Lexi doesn't want to give up Cairo. ...There's a part of her that wants to leave it all behind. Her work, her sick father, her bitter mother, the baby who never sees her parents, the red kingdom, everything. There's a part of her that... just wants to run away.
