Whats a quest suposed to be for, Is it like a goal to get something, or something like that??? sorry just a newbie question.

Yeah, a quest is just working towards a goal of getting an item on Gaia- usually a very expensive one, and sometimes so expensive it's almost impossible to purchase. Sometimes the quest involves more than one item, or an entire new look for an avi.
For example, I'm questing for a Parisian Blue Fan right now- it costs about 45K, and I have 19K. So, I needed to make up a quest thread, and I also went to charities and begged for donations- and got quite a few.
Most people have contests on their quest threads, and have links to their threads in their signatures. Some people do quests with friends to make it more fun and make it go faster. I didn't bother with any of that, because if I don't get the fan, it's okay.... But it is best to do so.
But yes, there's an entire forum devoted to questing and such, and if you want an item, you should make a topic there.
