So recently Mew and I found ourselves with a little more awesome than the two of us can handle. So we've decided to open the family up to anyone who wants a chance to snag a pretty little priestly of their own.

For the most part there are few stipulations, and the family as a whole has no plans outside of the 'do good' mentality. We only ask that they do not end up as sig candy and that you at least hang around and perhaps dork around with us in some thread rp at the least. With these babies role-play is highly encouraged.

~Status~
Starting Date: 4/19
Ending Date: TBA

*Tentative date. It won't end earlier, but if there isn't enough entries it will probably be extended.

~Rules~
~Only original work is allowed. You may ask others for critiques and the like but don't have someone come up with your entry for you.
~You can enter for both kids, but you may only win one. If we like both of your entries the best we will contact you and ask which you would prefer.
~Winners may not gift these kage to friends. We're giving them to whom we believe would do good by the family.
~Please only send in a final copy of your entry. No revisions can be made once they're in. Nevermind~ If you wish to edit your entries, feel free to just edit the post.
~Please post your entries in thread~

~Your Family~

User Image ~ Played by Asellus

-La'rakryn: An eccentric priestly who values strong actions over pretty words. He's a clever individual who tends to approach situations from odd angles which often baffles others. As such he is respected but rarely understood, something that leaves him wistful more times than not. Regardless he has found himself a mate in Ahara, because even if she doesn't 'get' his craziness all the time she still remains by his side, and for that he loves her all the more.
User Image ~ Played by Mewsings of an Angel

-Ahara'sadi: A young-at-heart female Priestly who is of few words. Or rather, of none. She arrived in this world with a lack of speech, and instead will make bird noises like trills and hoots. She's a very gentle creature, never raising her paw to friend or foe, and give off an air of absolute calm and love. She loves her mate very much, and her children equally so.
User Image ~ Played by Mewsings of an Angel

-Tanis'fali: This girl thinks she's the baddest thing since cupcakes, but has a heart of good. She's protective of all her siblings, and will not take others hurting them physically or mentally. She's a strong girl, even though she is so young and follows after her father, right underfoot!
User Image ~ Played by Asellus

-Ari'estalin: This little boy is an arrogant little bugger. He takes great pride in who he is, and to the family he is a part of, and firmly believes that because of his heritage he is not only stronger but in some ways better than others. Nevertheless; not all of his father's teachings have fallen on deaf ears as Aries takes his responsibilities very seriously, including the whole 'do good' mentality his family has ingrained upon him. All in all he's a proud boy who truly does enjoy being a source of good in the world, it's just he could use an extra slice of humble pie every now and then.

~Your Choices~
User Image ~ Female PriestlyUser Image ~ Male Priestly

~Prompts~

1 ~ Everyone is asleep....so naturally this is the perfect time to go out exploring! During your journey you stumble upon another kage your age only different. This one looks extra spikey with a crooked tail and reeks of sulfur. How do you react to your first encounter with a hell-born? Do you even recognize the signs? Do you challenge the hell-spawn, or do you try and make nice despite the fact every word it says grates harshly in your ears?

2 ~ Even as beacons of good your family is not without it's quirks. Your mom talks like a bird, your dad rambles and speaks in riddles, and your older siblings are as confident and outspoken as they come. What about you? Are you a source of stability and tranquility like your mother? Do you have your father's brilliance, or do you share in your siblings' beliefs that you're the greatest thing on earth? Or are you still floundering for your sense of self? Who are you, and what exactly is your place in the family?

3 ~ You and your siblings are squabbling and the argument shows no signs of slowing down. Who's side do you take, and why? Do you try and mediate, or do you want nothing to do with the situation? Perhaps you run to your parents. Is there any fall-out for taddling to your parents from your sibling? Was the disagreement even worth all this trouble in the end?

4 ~ Don't like any of the prompts? Then write whatever you please~

*Even though I believe quality over quantity, make sure you write enough so we can grasp the character you're trying to portray. Try and aim for at least 200 words per prompt you answer~ There is no maximum, but please try and keep your responses on-topic and appropriate.

*Feel free to mix and match prompts, or even respond to more than one separately. The more we know, the better your chances.

~Form~

Name: (Please keep to the stylized naming of the family with the apostrophe and what not.)
Child: (Male or Female)
Personality: (Just a few words to describe the kid. Please remember these are priestlies, and come from a good family. Stay away from 'evil' traits, but that doesn't mean your character should be perfect either.)

Name: I'nalir
Child: Male
Personality: The judge, the mediator, the 'youngest' of the litter. I'nalir is mute like his mother, but uses noises that he picked up from her to quell arguments and calm those around him. Peaceful and rather shy as a child, he is prone to running from danger rather than confronting it. He'll need his siblings to bolster his confidence to grow strong as an adult.
Entries: [1] (in which reign and rook make an appearance lolol)

I'nalir didn't usually stray far from the group.

The rush of blood pumping to his heart at the thought of slipping away to explore, however, was refreshing. It secretly thrillled him, disobeying mother's cooing calls to stay close. Well, only a little. With her and father so close, what evils could dare to lurk nearby?

He stretched the pads of his feet into the soft earth, barely making a sound as he snuck past. It was more like his elder siblings to slip away, not him, but the hammering of his heart in his chest drove him closer to the edge of the clearing and the tall, darkened trees that surrounded the grove.

His pale coat made him stand out like a sore paw in the darkness that enveloped him, but hey- what did he have to worry about? Mother and father were fairly close by, and he was only looking a little. The child wriggled his paws in the crunchy leaves, wrinkling his nose.

He suddenly froze in place as the leaves continued to rustle. He was no longer moving. His head swiveled frantically, seeing no movement. Finally after several tense moments he whirled around, pinpointing the noise behind him.

I'nalir could barely see the kage standing in the blackness before him. It was soot gray and lean, taller than him and armed head to toe with spines and spikes that stuck out at awful angles. What was it? It wasn't like him or his siblings, and it smelled like ash and smoke.

His fur went on end as it let out a low, quiet hiss. Could it be one of those hellspawn father had warned them of? He sensed evil from it.

"Well, well," the other spoke, voice low. "Priessstly. So daring to sssneak away from your family, aren't you?"

I'nalir let out a quiet trill, trying to focus on the spot where he could see the other moving. If he kept circling just a while longer...

"Human got your tongue?" the hellspawn sneered, "You know that I'm ssstronger than you, don't you? You're jussst a little runt." His tail lashed side to side, digging scores into the soil below their feet.

The child let out a shrill cry, hoping maybe mother would hear him and come rushing to his aid. Or father. Or even his siblings. They were stronger and bolder than him. The hell snorted and laughed, finally stopping his pacing. I'nalir's eyes darted from the kage to the direction of his grove, weighing the odds. He was too far to be heard.

"Sssscared?" he hissed, "The good and pure priessstly can't defend himssself?"

Like a rocket I'nalir took off, sending dirt and leaves flying behind his paws as he fled for the clearing. He didn't scream, he didn't cry. Behind him he heard the hollow sound of paws colliding with forest floor and urged himself to run faster. He was almost there, he was almost-

A bellowing roar echoed through the forest as I'nalir broke through the line of trees. The entire world seemed to go dead silent, followed swiftly by an answering cry from his mother. The roar had not come from the young hell.

Frozen in fear again he watched as a large shadow stalked past him in the woods, the scent of smoke filling his nose. The shape paused, white eyes gleaming briefly to stare him down, and then continued on its way. A smaller shadow joined alongside it. From behind him the thundering fall of paws in the grass reached his ears. His mother grabbed him gently by the scruff on the back of his neck and swiftly turned, carrying him back to the safety of their family.

As he curled against his siblings finally, he frowned. The hellspawn hadn't been as scary as he had thought, now that he began to think about it again. The big shadow was frightening to him, though. It was big like mother and father. I'nalir felt chilled to his core despite the warmth of his siblings around him.

He wanted to be braver, like his older sisters and brother. He would find the hellspawn when he was older and show him who was the stronger one.

Name: Nali'in
Child: Female
Personality: Nali avoids conflict whenever possible. She won't fight with her siblings except on rare occasions. She prefers quiet areas to anything with noise. When noise levels increase her head starts pounding, though she isn't sure why this is. She assumes it is some runoff from her previous life.
Entry:
[2+3] ((I hope that the others aren't to OOC. Also, I borrowed Cap's idea for the third sibling as I thought it fit well))

Nali'in's head was screaming. Two of her siblings were battling it out over which "training" exercise to play. They were very into the idea of ridding the world of evil. Nali often wondered if they fancied themselves heroes. These games they played all had the same basic purpose, someone, usually her brother I'nalir, was the embodiment of evil. This was probably because he was so quiet all the time and had a difficult time standing up for himself. Ari'estalin wanted to try a more king-of-the-hill type exercise in which I'nalir and Nali'in would have to protect a tree from their siblings. If they were to touch the tree, the game would be over. Tanis'fali was insisting that a game like that would be unfair and too easy. She wanted a more challenging game in which I'nalir and Ari'estalin would hide and try to think evil thoughts, and Tanis'fali and Nali'in would try to find them by sensing said evilness.

It began as a simple disagreement, but escalated over time to quite a quarrel. Nali'in backed up, away from the fighting and raised voices. Her head was already beginning to hurt behind her eyes. She looked pleadingly at I'nalir, who had a similar look on his own face. Neither of them liked to be nearby when the two were fighting. Nali considered running off to their parents, but it didn't seem like a fight worth bothering her parents over.

Nali'in shut her eyes and pulled her ears down as she huddled near the ground. "Guys..." Her voice was quiet and small. "Guys please..." It was no surprise that her siblings couldn't hear her. She wasn't loud at the best of times, but now her voice was drowned out by the fight which got louder by the second. The pounding increased and before long Nali'in couldn't take it any longer.

"Stop it!" Nali screamed so loud the birds in the trees and bushes flew off. Nali'in leaped between her brother and sister. She headbutt Tanis'fali's side, dug her front paws into the grown and kicked back at Ari'estalin with her back paws. She wasn't strong enough to really hurt them, but it certainly got their attention. Nali'in had never shown any signs of a fighting instinct before. She had never had any inclination toward vanquishing evil. Now she stood between the two of them, panting, eyes burning.

She blinked a few times as the pounding subsided. "...sorry" She moved to help her siblings up, "I didn't mean to get so angry."

Name: Nos'olas (No Solace, lol)
Child: Female
Personality: The zealot - This child is convinced that she must be able to defeat any and all Hell Kage, or any other evil-doer she is called upon to battle. She is also afflicted with a perpetual belief that she is not strong enough to accomplish this goal. Perpetually attempting to train herself to be stronger mentally and physically, and forever pestering her parents for further knowledge so she knows better how to accomplish her goals. This little one simply doesn't know when to stop, forever pushing herself to become more than what she is in the hope that one day she can prove even to herself that she is good enough to be what she thinks she needs to be.
Entry: (1) Hellborn Encounter (Making up a random hellspawn for this.)

It was a quiet night, or so it had seemed. The young Priestly had woken from an unpleasant dream she could not remember and had not wanted to wake her sleeping family for comfort. But the stars were clear and bright, and while it was still a bit cool in the evenings, this even was not unpleasantly so. And so she had decided to go for a walk until her mind cleared and her heart settled again. She had not initially planned to go very far, however... it was almost as if there were a bug in her ear drawing her further on. What was this odd feeling of foreboding and why would it not go away?

That was when she saw it, something peculiarly bright ahead in the darkness. The way it reflected the moonlight was almost... ghoulish, or so her mind seemed convinced. She was uncertain, but Nos'olas proceeded forward to find out what it was, for something within her would not let her turn around without confronting whatever this was. And when she got close enough to truly see the other small Kage that appeared to be digging up some small animal's burrow, stories she'd been told about the Hell Kage and what they looked like left her no doubt about what she faced. Considering the circumstances she could only believe the fates had deemed her to be the one to remove this budding threat before it could harm more than a few terrified field mice.

"What do you think you're doing here, Hellspawn?!" Her voice rang out almost imperiously, and the other Kage turned in surprise to stare at her. "You will leave this place, demon-child, or I will be forced to evict you." The Hell-pup hissed at her then, not deigning to speak, and began to advance on her stiff-legged in fury at her impudence for interrupting meal-time. She stood her ground, and when it lunged for her she lunged in turn, throwing off its aim and the power of the swipe it was planning for her by closing the distance early. And then the battle ensued. Pups they might be, but they were both out for real blood here.

Across the hummocks they rolled and coiled and dodged, snapping and clawing. Right up to the edge of a very long, steep, slippery graveled slope. Then the Hell's teeth caught around her front right ankle and she felt something snap. Momentarily blinded by pain she yelped and kicked out blindly, and felt the Hell-pup pushed away. Then she heard it sliding down the gravel and forced herself up to peer down the slope. It lay motionless at the bottom for a moment before slowly struggling to its feet. It glanced up at her and hissed, for a moment intent on advancing on her again, until it put weight on a leg twisted in the fall and pain caused its legs to buckle and it fell again. It struggled to its feet again and hissed at her once more, angry and frustrated, before it slunk off into the night.

Nos'olas frowned. She'd won... but by sheer luck, and if that Hell Kage had truly been more intent on her defeat than its own pain she might not even have done that. Seething silently at her inability she turned and limped back toward home. She would have to become stronger. Neither she nor those she was bound to protect as a Priestly guardian could afford for her to do otherwise if such a creature were to return.

So patience is now rewarded.
Though we didn't get as many entries as we would have liked, reading over the ones we did receive, Asellus and I have the results for you!

Capricorn Sunchai

Even though you were the only entry for the male, we both agreed that you fit the family well. Congratuations and welcome to the family with I'nalir!

Haisyn Fierra

We enjoyed your entry, and the way you portrayed her. Congratulations and we welcome you and Nos'olas (which wouldn't be No Solace. Just sayin' ;P) to our budding family! Please remember though, the family is not violent and will not deign to resort to violence, even if they want to be warriors. Both parents will reprimand bad behavior! XD
