I know a few do, but I'm wondering if you guys have looked for pictures of actual people to represent characters you're playing in the guild or something. I've been looking for awhile, just to help express the idea of what I'm going for with Sailor Sapphire/Sophie Houseki, so here are some imagessssss: [click]

I would say that the hair is a good match for sure, but do you really want to head into Real Life pictures instead of anime based? RL pics can develop some...issues like Black Moon said.

I can see how Viola looks as a real person in my head, so it would be near-impossible to find that person in existence, much less posting artistic images of themselves on the internet. I have a photo edit in my sig that's a picture of a person, but I guess that's as close as I'm getting.

I don't use models to represent or inspire my characters. But I know some guilds/forums/Threads/RPs prefer to use photos over pictures. In that case I use the photo much like I would a picture to help make the character.

 I tend to be influenced by tons of different characters rather than just one. Such as the homestuck characters and the vocaloid mascots.

I am Viola and Ruby on this one, Honestly, its a neat idea in my mind, its not something I can pull off with Will. Though those pictures do indeed fit your character. After all, I haven't ever seen what you would have your char would look like other than your avi, so its a nice sight.

Yeah, I had a fairly popular MSN Sailor moon RP Group back in the day. (What is a MSN Group you say? Congrats you're not old) . Got all sorts of complaints because my people were using their Art and Photos without asking. (Was taking stuff down constantly)
So yeah.. my policy now is to never present anything that I didn't do myself, or get permission for, as a representation of one my Characters.
What I will do however, is reference pics/art with something like "Her hair looks like this". Or "Her body type looks like this" preferably with a direct link to DA or Photobucket.

Yeah I've rped with people who use other people's art to reprsent there character but when it comes to subiting art of that character I use a three step prosses. 1 is to find the image. 2 recreate as best I can on Tektek, since it's not exact there will be variation between the two. And the 3 draw it based on the tektek. The resulting picture only looks slightly like the origenal refence.

I always draw my own picture or as other people do draw my character(s) for me. I can't just go randomly find an image to represent my own characters because they're nothing alike. I usually imagine when my characters look like first, so it's not that I just write a story - then go FIND a picture. It's usually the other way around that I draw a pic first - most of them which are actually in my profile. Some I drew, others other people drew for me 4laugh

I mostly based Aida on Sailor Venus' body, plus very dark skin and curly black hair.

I'm not actually using them as apart of my format posts or anything. If I'm actually roleplaying with real life images on the forums, though, I always include a direct link to the source. That's why I phrased it as "use a model," I mean it in the sense of having some reference point in case anyone is curious about what look you're going for. That's why all the pictures I have on there are of different people; none of them are 100% definite, they just give the 'vibe' I'm going for. : 3
