RULES 1.Obey Gaia rules 2.Obey Guild rules 3.Aranor is an entirely different world from Earth. Remember that. On Aranor, they never invented the curse words we use on Earth. Also, each demi-human race has their own language, and then there's the "Human language", which we call English on Earth. But there is no English on Aranor, for there is no England. I say that to say this: NO CURSE WORDS. 4.MAX 7 major characters per person. The character list format displays this rule:whenever a player joins the RP they are added to the list with 7 numbers for characters. Not that you HAVE to use all 7, of course. Under certain conditions, two characters can be considered one because of attatchment. For instance, Neshoba at the age of 666 and above have two souls, which are considered to be one character. 5.Introduce characters in one of 3 ways: (1)Post a character sheet in the OOC thread out in the main hall, (2)Post an IC description of the character here, or (3)PM me the character sheet with the subject line Aranor. (or of course doing two or all of them is fine too) I, Xindaris, reserve the right to change, revoke, add to, or entirely decapitate these rules at any time.

CHAPTERS Each chapter has its own name, beginning, middle and end, and is owned by a particular RPer; however they have the same characters (each chapter can add/remove characters as seen fit) follow chronological order: each one comes right after the last. The chapter titles should have some relevance to the plot of the chapter. I get the odd-numbered chapters because I came up with Aranor, everyone else gets the even numbered ones and takes a rotation of turns based on who joined the RP first. For example, Ninkira gets the first even-numbered chapter (chapter 2) because she joined the RP first. However, let's say that Ninkira doesn't want to do the 2nd chapter or doesn't want to, then the next person gets it. If nobody wants an even-numbered one, then I have to do it whether I like it or not. I can also decide to pass on an odd-numbered chapter, then it's treated like an even-numbered one, and I can end up having to do it anyway.
-Chapter Preview added!(yeah that's right I've got my chapters already planned through 13! But they aren't set in stone, they may be moved around by the time we get to them.) The even-numbered chapters after 6 are labelled with ??? as writer because more people may join by then. The current and previous chapters are separated from the future chapters by an extra space.
-the story so far: A summary of what's happened in each chapter.
Chapter 1: Introduction-Xindaris-pgs 1-3 Xindaris went to a tavern owned by an old friend of his, but the tavernmaster had run away and there were now some twelve dwarves drinking what he'd left behind. He joined them in sitting, but not drinking, until a large group monsters attacked. Xindaris had to fight alone for some time, then Elestari the half-elf of the Rain Clan appeared and began helping him. It wasn't long until the dwarves became so drunk that they came out and fought anyway, but it seemed they had all died. Around midnight, Xindaris awoke and found one dwarf alive, the leader. He put him in the tavern and completely forgot about him. Then he went after Elestari and resolved to thank her by helping her on her quest. They were on their way. Chapter 2:From the Rain Comes Lightning-Ninkira-pgs 3-? Elestari's quest involved going to the North Village. When they went there, though, there was some kind of revolt occuring in the center of town. Xindaris ran straight to it and lost track of Elestari, then he met the half-elf Allynra and Elestari's brother Valdur. He was somewhat suspicious of Valdur for some reason, but then he saw something and chased after it. While he chased, the elvish ambassodor Eledhwen and her daughter Elemmiire entered town. The one Xindaris was chasing finally stopped and demanded what was going on, and then revealed his name was Shadowcat, Shadow for short. Xindaris led him to the Dancing Dragons tavern and inn, meanwhile Elestari met Eledhwen and Elemmiire unpleasantly, and Yuber, a strange being of Wrath, showed up in town. It seemed that Eledhwen had not been aware of the war at all, although it had been a full year in the makings. Almost the only ones in the Dancing Dragons were those Xindaris had helped fight humans before: Shen the Mermaid, Grog the half-orc-half-elf, Yin the human, and a female dwarf who was the leader. Yuber had also come to the same tavern not long before, and when Shadow found out his money was no good on Aranor and left in a huff Xindaris sat next to him. Meanwhile, Eledhwen told Elestari her story.
Chapter 3:Dog-Heads-Xindaris Chapter 4:???-Moontan Chapter 5:Chaos Begins-Xindaris Chapter 6:???- Chapter 7:The First Battle: Left/Wolf Duel-Xindaris Chapter 8:???-??? Chapter 9:The Second Battle: Right and the Rest-Xindaris Chapter 10:???-??? Chapter 11:Sidetracked-Xindaris Chapter 12:???-??? Chapter 13:The Final Battle: Battle of the Dragonriders-Xindaris

RP INTRO Chapter 1:Introduction ((All posts from here on are IC, unless otherwise noted. Dark blue is told from a standpoint of Otagaz, Brown is from the standpoint of Xindaris. More "standpoint colors" added when I add more characters. Also, uh, don't expect all my IC posts to be this big.)) Otagaz thought back to a year ago, when the new power in Ardania had delivered its ultamatum: give up all demihumans to be executed, or be executed with them. He and his younger brother, the general, had talked it out. Otagaz was by far the better strategist, and his brother was more fluent in the demihuman languages, even though both of them had learned all of them. They would switch places. Nobody would notice, since they had the same basic physical appearance: both had white hair and blue eyes, as did all of Rithara's royal family; they were built similarly and though they were a few years apart, they looked almost the same. Besides, the exchange would make it much more difficult for King Otagaz to be assassinated, since nobody would know it was him. He thought back on that day with some regret. Otagaz was the sort of person who wouldn't hurt a soul if he didn't have to. He turned away from his reflections. He had an army to command, to prevent more death. He had to protect what was left of Rithara. Xindaris returned from another day of soldier-hunting. All he had to do was find a few of the Ardanian fools lost in the Elvish forest and chop them to pieces. Not that he would eat them. He just wasn't that kind of Neshobe. He headed to a tavern he knew the owner of, on the border of contrast between the Elvish forest and the Orcish desert. Unfortunately, he found that the owner had fled the approaching front and a group of about twelve refugee dwarves had taken up residence and begun using the only thing the owner had left behind:beer. He knew there was something wrong long before he entered from the smell of the stuff. It was the only shelter for a long way, though, so he bore it as he sat on the stool by the lead dwarf. None of the dwarves minded. They were drowning their troubles with the toxic substance. Almost sunset, and Xindaris heard something outside. It was Impeths, about twelve or so; the creatures were humanoid but very thin and animalistic; they had the faces of jackals, oblong ears that stuck out from their heads, and short claws from all four limbs as well as sharp teeth. He said, "Dwarves, there are monsters at your doorstep. Will you defend yourselves?" It was not a question, but their answer was no. "We've lost our wi' teh figh', wolf-man," said the leader. So Xindaris went out alone. There were 16 of them, more than he had guessed. No matter; only 5 fit around the door. Xindaris had already shifted forms as he came out; since it was near sunset that would be no trouble. He began defending himself against 5 sets of claws and teeth, as there was little else he could do. It didn't matter. The dwarves would soon realize they had to defend themselves, or become drunk enough to attack anyway. He just needed to wait out the beasts. There was also hope, though little, that a traveler might notice the monsters along the road. ((to begin rping, be a traveler coming along the road, of course. razz ))

Ooc: Cause I said I would post, I'm going to post now, and if you need a bio I'll post it after. ^^; I'll also have my character's outfit with my bio; it's too complicated for me to fully describe. biggrin
A smallish (yet not as small as a dwarf) yet slender figure, one probably that of a young woman, ran into the street and immedetly darted between the monsters. The figure was cloaked purely in gray and black rags, but weaved in and out of the group with the grace of a snowflake, but with the speed near that of an elf. She wasn't very strong, though, and it didn't look like she had any good power weapons to speak of. The monsters she passed either tripped, got stabbed in the leg with something that looked like a small knife, kicked in the head, or slashed at in the face. Soon, their ordered rank fell apart into confused Impeths, and prime for stronger attack.

((Thanks, that's plenty of a description for now)) Xindaris had given away to his instincts and hardly noticed another fighting the monsters, although it was obvious the creatures were distracted. Xindaris used the distraction to tear apart one or two with his claws, but he was still on the defensive with fourteen Impeths to deal with. Worse yet, now he'd somehow been pushed away from the door and had to defend from all sides.

A monster that had lunged at Xindaris' blind spot suddenly got a drop kick from the little fighter, who defended the half wolf's back. "Stop fighting so blindly, will you? Use some stragatics! Their knees are unprotected.." The fighter's voice definatly gave away that she was a young woman, but she didn't seem to realize as she plunged a tiny dagger into one of the knees of the monsters.

((Correct me if she's not an elf, and I'll edit this post, since Xindaris's smell is never wrong.)) Xindaris hadn't really noticed her before, but now that he thought of it he smelled elf along with all the monsters. He heard her advice and listened well enough, but he was still on the defensive. Then something happened that fixed that. He got a taste of one creature's blood. That was all it took. His body went into automatic bloodlust, tearing apart five or six of them in a normally impossible method. Some thought in the back of his head figured this would show the elf how a Neshobe fought. Then something else occured to further diminish the creatures' numbers. The sun was setting, and the dwarves were drunk. They came out, at least half of them using broken bottles and mugs in place of their weapons, and even those who used weapons had blunted and chipped blades. The only good blade in the bunch was on the leader, the one who had spoken to Xindaris previously. They dispatched another two or three of them, but then began piling on top of one another in their drunkenness, mostly dead. Still, that only left four of the Impeths to deal with, more than enough for an average Neshobe. Xindaris was about average, but badly tired from not having slept a few days past, and his bloodlust was over. They were still in trouble, unless the elf could actually kill four more of the monsters the way the she'd killed the first. ((Don't worry, even after the battle it'll always be possible to join the RP. I'm attempting to make sure it's open that way))

Actually, only Elestari's mother had been an elf, her father was a human from the cities of Rithara who also had a little elf blood in him, so Xindaris the Neshobe's nose was not wrong at all. Elestari the Near-Elf, one of the few left, threw her knife viciously into the neck of one of the monsters, downing it, and fell to the ground on all fours, like a little monkey. However, she quickly smashed her foot into the kneecap of one of the last monster, getting it distracted and down on one knee. Figuring the Neshobe could handle them now, she quickly moved back to the one with her knife and worked it out of it's throat.

((VERY IMPORTANT:look at the 'description' post above, specifically the section on Aranor's magic. I just thought to add it; sorry.)) Xindaris could've handled six, maybe seven of the things in normal conditions, probably ten in top condition. Now, though, he was immensly tired and wounded despite the tough hide of the werewolf form. He couldn't really do much but fend off the remaining four from himself and the half-elf (he recognized some human now that he had the time). He finally spoke to her. "Can't you use magic on these? I'm too tired to fight effectively." He forced the normal werewolf-form's growling voice into one slightly understandable by those accustomed to the human language.

Elestari rolled her eyes as she dogged a swipe from one of the standing monsters. Now he asked.. But feeling inclined to finish what she had gotten herself into, the tiny elf flipped back a few times away from the group. She planted her feet, raised her hands, lowered them again and preformed a few complex motions that were too fast to follow properly. Just as quick, she held out her hand paralell to the ground, and aranged her fingers to point at the remaining monsters. Then, Elestari spoke for the first time in front of them all. Her voice was soft, but the great power in it was obvious. "Vanwa; ee ost ell edhel, an han tulinuva ell ost ell adan!" A flash of silent blinding light erupted from her fingertips, and sticks of lightning struck the monsters left, frying their flesh in a second.

Dark Electricity, thought Xindaris blandly, I'll have to remember that if I ever have reason to fight her. The spell easily killed the remaining four monsters, but would have been distracted if Xindaris hadn't kept them off of her. By the time the dwarves had come out, the moon had risen and the sun set, so he was able to remain in the werewolf form. He needed to talk more clearly to her, though, so he reluctantly shifted to the more human form. He said, "I must thank you for your timely help in destroying these monsters. I should warn you, however, that there is a storm coming later tonight, and no shelter besides this tavern close enough to get to by the time it gets here. I'm going to stay in the tavern tonight, and would advise you to do the same, unless you prefer getting wet." Neshoba had a sense about how the weather would occur within a few hours nearby, so he knew what he was talking about. He put action to words and went inside, too tired to care if he could trust the half-elf or not. He curled up behind the counter and was asleep before she could say anything.

Elestari stayed quiet as she walked over to him and listened to Xindaris' words, but didn't show any annoyance to his disregard for attation to her response like anyone else would. When he curled up, she raised her small hands and pulled back her hood, revealing long silvery hair and deep blue eyes. A little tear of blue was a cursed tatoo on her cheek; which marked her of the lost rain clan of the elves. She was petite, but more beautiful in the elegance of her face then cute in her size. But, after taking a good look around the tavern, Elestari returned to Xindaris' side, bowed (even though he was curled up already) and went back outside; deciding to sleep somewhere in the rain.
