Will the Lady Ashe take you with her? Or will you be stuck on the home front?
For Noir Pieces Only One of the Bishops has posted a notice on a bulletin board in the training courtyard! It reads as follows:
SCOUTING TEAM SIGN-UPS
Lady Ashe intends to travel towards Prophylaxis on a scouting mission aimed towards learning of new developments with the Gate of Paradise. Now that Prophylaxis’ borders are vulnerable, it is the perfect time to act. Lady Ashe seeks a number of soldiers for this preliminary scouting mission.
You will be subject to a series of interviews and test with the Lady Ashe. If you feel that you are not up to the task, do not sign up. Once you have signed up, further information shall be given.
Post a quick RP post of your chosen Noir piece deciding whether to sign up or not to sign up. The length need not be more than a paragraph. Once done, sit back and wait for Lady Ashe to have her Rooks contact you further. One piece per player.

Tatsuya slid his hand across his forehead, swiping away the perspiration from the afternoon's heated rays. Passing by the bulletin board - something he did everyday to be aware of the on-goings of the city - he paused in front of a new, crisp sheet of paper. It was headed with 'Scouting Team Sign-ups', followed by the kingdom's seal. An official document...? This seems new. He glided his pale hand down the side of the sheet, grasping it at the left corner, delicately. Gold and black eyes scanned the words, a huff escaped his chest afterwards. Lady Ashe... She may be King Sable's sister, but there's something about her that urks me... She is nothing like him, therefore I find it hard to respect her. Even if she is the other half of the kingdom. He re-read the document, thinking. His hand released it, and he stepped back, crunching the rocks under his feet. Golden orbs peered back and forth, watching other soldiers train. "Ahh... what the hell at least in some small way I am helping King Sable. If not in a round-about-way." His face fell into a displeased grimace, knowing now, as his hand dug through his pocket for a pen, he would have to endure Lady Ashe's bubbly, annoying voice. His hand scrolled across the end of the page, writing out his full name. "There..." At least if I come out proper through this, maybe King Sable will see the use in me.

Wren arrives in the soldier barracks bearing a clipboard. By the way she seems to be checking the room numbers, she seems to be looking for someone. Then, she stops in front of a door and knocks. Seems like she’s looking for you!
After three sharp raps on the door Wren calls out, “Tatsuya? Senior Rook Wren here to speak with you on behalf of Lady Ashe!” As Wren waits for a response, she quickly shuffles through her clipboard looking for this Pawn’s basic information. Hmm… a new recruit! Wren discovers in surprise. She wasn’t quite sure what a Pawn was expecting participating in Rook business, but she sincerely hoped he wouldn’t be difficult. The attitudes Rooks and Pawns had each other was exasperating enough in the lower ranks as it was.
Wren marked the time and date of contact with Pawn Tatsuya. Once finished, she lowered her clipboard and stood back from the door to wait.

Tatsuya grumbles and stands up from his desk, the wooden chair lets out a loud screech. He had a small desk that he used for writing letters and sketching when he had the time off. "I'm coming, I'm coming." He grabbed his cloak off the back of the chair, clipping it neatly in place around his neck.
"Hey..." He said in a very deep tone, sliding his door open a couple of inches, not a whole lot to allow anyone sight into his privacy. "Oi, Senior Rook Wren... I suppose you're here on business about that sign up sheet for Lady Ashe's newest mission?" He raised a slim black brow at her, inquiringly. This is my first time meeting her... and technically my first time really speaking with Lady Ashe. I cant screw up this opportunity to prove my worth. Atleast this 'Wren' seems like she's well mannered... He scratched the end of his chin, gold eyes dazed off for a moment on the wall behind Wren, before he looks back at her, waiting.

Wren bit back a grimace. Cautious, isn't he? Neverthless... She beckoned for him to step outside as her schedule was quite tight and she needed to be done with her group of interviews by the end of the week for Lady Ashe's perusal. "Ah, yes. Lady Ashe has a rather... peculiar work ethic. So it is important that the team being deployed possesses good team dynamics. I apologize for the inconvenience, but if you could come with me to the Rook Clerical Building, I can begin evaluating you. Time is tight, so I hope to finish today and have results for you tomorrow. Now, shall we?"
Wren turned and lifted her clipboard in one quick motion then entered into a brisk walk out into the courtyard towards the Clerical Building. As she walked, she began scratching notes in the margins without looking back, trusting the pawn to follow her.

At least she is right to the point. Tatsuya followed the Rook out into the courtyard, his gold eyes caught each of her swift motions with the pen. Taking notes on me? Or am I just being paranoid. Tch. Can't lose my cool now.
"Something has been bothering me a little... Even though I am relatively new, I know that pawns and Rooks don't regularly join together. Can you explain to me why Lady Asche is putting together such a dynamic team?" It would have been rude of him if he didn't spark some type of conversation, wouldn't it?
His bright teal colored cloak swayed back and forth in the afternoon breeze, gold eyes peering up at the Clerical Building, having never entered its doors yet. He had only met Rooks out in the courtyard or in gatherings. He knew that pawns and rooks didnt like eachother much. He had one experience with one the first day he had arrived and that set his tone. They weren't to be fully trusted and that they could start rumors like wildfire. He rubs at his eyes, the things that had caused the Rook he had met to create such a strange story about. Others still looked at him strangely even a week later. ((haha, just trying to make some back story about his strange colored eyes.))

Wren took a few seconds to finish scratching out notes when they had arrived at the Clerical Building. Once finished, she turned around to answer the pawn's question. She paused a bit to think of the most diplomatic answer, but upon realizing that it would be slightly offensive no matter how she put, decided to state it plainly. "Ah, well. Of course it is no secret that due to the differing natures of each army's duties, rooks and pawns don't have much reason to interact closely. You may have noticed, or experienced, the slight prejudices the lower ranks Pawns and Rooks have towards each other. It becomes less evident as you advance through the ranks, but anyway. Lady Ashe, with... some reccomendations from King Sable, is pursuing a joint effort between the two armies because it was necessary for the plans King Sable made in preparing for the scouting party. Regrettably, as I am of the opinion that Pawns and Rooks are unnecessarily divided, Lady Ashe would not have sought out the Pawns unless King Sable explicitly requested that she do so. There were other agreements made, but those are irrelevant to the likes of us. Oh my. That was rather a long explanation," Wren finished. She brought a hand to her mouth in embarassment, but she felt that the explanation required some sort of justification on her part.
She cleared her throat. "Well, that took longer than I would have liked! Please enter the building," she requested as she also stepped inside. She walked through the lobby and into one of the side hallways towards the Rook conference rooms. "We will be going to one of the conference rooms first for an interview and then to the infirmary for a quick physical to ensure that you are up to par. Once that is done, Lady Ashe should have arrived by then to observe the last portion. I know that those outside the Rook ranks view Lady Ashe in a less than positive light, but I really would like to emphasize the seriousness with which she handles activities beyond our borders. So for the last portion, please be sure to be on your best behavior."
By the time she had finished explaining the sequence of events, they had reached Conference Room 102C. She rummaged around for her keys and unlocked. Stepping back, she bid Tatsuya enter first.

Tatsuya looked at Wren for a moment before back at the opened door. Interview... and physical? Well, if King Sable wants to bring together the ranks, it's probably a good thing. If I can help with that, then I will try my best.
He stepped into the room, peering around at the walls and the floor, it was different than the pawn's rooms. It seemed cleaner, but that was expected of the healing and guarding ranks. Tatsuya knew that because many of them didnt leave much, due to what they were, they became quite homebodies. Unlike the pawns that were rarely around and never had time for cleaning and the sort. He lets out a little grunt before grabbing a chair and seating himself.
"So... Are you the one interviewing me, or do we have to wait for others?" He asked, a little impatiently.

When Tatsuya had taken a seat, Wren took a seat opposite to him and placed her clipboard flat on the table.
"I will be Lady Ashe's aide on this mission, so I am in charge of all interviews. I am conducting the interviews one at a time, if that answers your questions. Now," Wren began, her pen poised above the clipboard. "If you have any other questions about my own questions or any other matter, please feel free to ask them. I will do my best to inform you of nature of the scouting mission with the information I am cleared to divulge." She paused to make sure Tatsuya understood. He seemed rather interested in the room itself, which was odd. She didn't think there was anything special about it, but simply attributed it to one of his quirks.
"First, the mission requires taking many detours across the countryside so I hope to measure how well you know the landscape of Noir and the area around Prophylaxis. There's a map on the wall over there, if you feel you need the reference. Have you been on any missions heading east of Dawn City?"
(you can make up a mission or two relating to past meta updates - if you've read them - if you'd like~ And make up an imaginary captain, since Tatsuya is a rookie pawn. C: )

I've only been on one previous mission because I am relatively new... Tatsuya tipped his chair back a little and peered over at the map , golden eyes scanning it slowly. "I was at Ravensfield with my Captain. We held our position like we were suppose to... Minimal conflicts. Though, all ended in our favor." He tipped his chair back onto the ground, swinging his gold eyes back at wren, gloved hands resting on the table in front of them. His thumbs hooked over each other, the one on top tapping the other appendage. A smirk graces his lips before he sighs, "It was also the first time I had to endure time with Rooks. You don't seem so bad, though." He shrugged his muscular shoulders. "Anyway to answer your question, I have not traveled any further than Ravensfield."
Its great that we've finally got an opening into Prophylaxis’ borders... But, just what are we going to find? What if its a trap... Somehow I feel a little bit like a guinea pig. No matter, I'll destroy whatever they put in front of me. He shifted in his chair again, " What will we be looking for in Prophylaxis..? Anything specific?"

"Ah, I see. You were part of that particular operation," Wren replied. On Tatsuya's notes she wrote, Secured Noir-Proph border during Ward Destruction operations. Good, then the pawn was familiar with the area they would be traveling through. It made potential split ups less confusing and disorganized.
Upon hearing his comment, Wren offered a smile. "Thank you. I'm sure those rooks were only frazzled with the work of running the camps. Don't begrduge their snippiness too much. I'm sure Ravensfield was an exciting first assignment as well."
Tatsuya's questions were rather to the point, and Wren made a note to tell Lady Ashe that he was a curious one. "Unfortunately, that is information I cannot tell you unless you have been cleared to join the mission. But moving on, have you engaged in conflict since Ravensfield? And if not, what have you duties been since then?"

"I have engaged in combat once, as for my duties right now... I just do what I am told. If the Captain sends orders, I do it. Other than that..." (sorry not entirely sure what I should make up xd ) Tatsuya raises his hand and clenches his fist, looking back up at her smugly, "I train. Alongside, my humonculus, Kuronagi." He moved his hand and pulled out a small vile, choosing to keep the being in safe-keeping when he wasn't in the closed quarters of his room. "Sometimes, he has a bit of an attitude, so I prefer to keep him this way when in public. I'm sure he will be useful on the mission." (i hope this is accurate as well xd I saw that King Sable had kept one n a vile thingy in one of the meta posts.)
The vile swirled with a thick purple color, churning like the clouds during a windy day. "I managed to catch him upon returning from Ravensclaw. Anyway, can we move on to the physical? Answering questions is boring me.."
