"Don't worry, Ivana," Yumi said into her cell phone while waving a paint brush around and walking around her art room, "there will be many more showcases that I can enter. I will be on the next plane into Domino." A plane would only take an hour to get there but, the next flight was in three hours according to her phone. By the time she actually found Ivana it would be more like five or six. She couldn't wait that long. Driving was out of the question; it was a five hour drive plus traffic. Quickly looking up the train schedules, she found one that was leaving in forty five minutes and took only two and half hours.
Throwing her paint brush in a can of water, Yumi ran out of her art room, quickly changed out of her scrubs that were starting to look like art pieces themselves, and threw handfuls of clothes into a book bag. She made sure she had the necessities and an extra pair of shoes and practically ran out the door. If need be, she could borrow Ivana's clothes, or Yugi's. She didn't mind wearing guys clothing. She just needed to get to Domino.
Once she was at the train station with ticket in hand, she sat down on one of the benches and let out a breath of relief; there was ten minutes before the train was scheduled to arrive. She text messaged her dad telling him she was going to visit Grandpa and not to worry about her, and one to Ivana telling her when she would be there. It would be nice to see her family again, she thought. It had been so long. Where had the time gone anyway? Life was just moving entirely too fast.
The whistle blew that alerted nearby passengers the train was approaching and crowds of people seemed to appear out of thin air waiting for the train. Yumi swung her book bag onto her shoulder and joined them as the conductor punched each ticket as they stepped up onto the platform. As the train started to move, Yumi took out her sketch pad and began to sketch a picture of Blizzard Princess. It was her favorite and most treasured card; a gift from Ivana one year for her birthday. It was also a bit of an inside joke since Yumi absolutely loved the winter.
"Next stop, Domino City. Next stop, Domino City."
Yumi put her sketchbook away and took a deep breath before standing, waiting for the train to stop. I hope I still remember my way around... she thought. As she stepped off the train, she was both pleased and a little disappointed that the City of Domino looked just as she remembered it. It was like time had stood still and she just kept moving. There's no time to dwell on stupid thoughts, she told herself. She text Ivana that she had arrived and after a few minutes of no reply, Yumi began walking around the city to where people were talking about duels being held looking for her friend.
Not too long after, a familiar face appeared in a small crowd of people. A duel must've just finished, she figured, as cards were being exchanged. Not wanting to attract too much attention to herself, she waited impatiently until the people had dispersed and it was just her brother and, Yumi assumed, his friend. Feeling joyous, an immense grin spread itself upon her face and she called, "Yugi!" as she nearly ran towards them. He turned around curiously and then waved with a smile. Before he could say anything, Yumi nearly sent both of them onto the pavement in a rib crushing hug. "Omigosh I've missed you so much!"
"I've missed you too, Yu'" he replied, returning the hug.
Yumi barely noticed the confused look Yugi's friend was giving both of them as she laughed.

“Alright…” Ivana Hale was silent as she listened to Yumi on the other line. “Just let me know when you are on the way.” She hung up when Yumi did and let out a groan as she tapped her new duel disk that was attached to her arm. She was all alone in Domino City where the only person she “knew” was Yugi. She had only had contact with him twice and that was through email. He had asked her to pick up Yumi’s birthday present via post office before his look a like could.
As she made her way out of her private jet, that Yumi had declined riding in, she saw a man holding up a sign with her name on it. Weird… she didn’t ask for a driver…
“Miss Pegasus. Ishizu Ishtar wishes for your company.” The man said and Ivana’s eyes widened. “She’s here in Domino? Why does she need to see me?” She asked and a frown adorned her lips. She had felt a strange tugging sensation to come to the city, but for what reason she didn’t know. Maybe the Egyptian woman would be able to tell her.
“She said to give you this.” The man handed her a small photo. She took it and look at its contents. On it was an image of the God Cards. She immedietly shoved the photo into her small black thin strap purse and looked around.
“Let’s go.” She told him and instantly she was ushered into a black car. The trip was short and the car stopped at the museum and she gave a puzzled look to the driver.
“She’s in there.” He told her and she stepped out. She quickly hurried inside as fast as her black heels would take her. Her black and green dress fitted her body nice and snug enough that it didn’t rise at all when she went up the stairs towards the front doors. She opened the doors and stalked past all the exibits. She could feel the Winged Dragon of Ra tattoo on her back start to heat up as she reached a chained off area. She stepped over it and began to walk down the stairs.
The burning sensation began to worsen as she reached a giant tablet. The lights turned on and her eyes spotted the god cards etched in the rock. Her back flared with pain and a hand was placed on her shoulder. The pain faded slightly, but the heat was still there. She turned her head and saw Ishizu.
“What is this?” Ivana asked and Ishizu pointed towards the two figures in the tablet.
“This depicts a great fight for the pharoh. But this is not what I called you here for.” Ishizu told her. “The God Cards have been stolen.” Ivana’s eyes widened as Ishizu began to explain the rest of the story. Her psychotic brother had Ra… That’s why she felt the pull. It wanted her to save it! Ishizu told her that the Pharoh would be expecting her and that he would be downtown. She quickly got back into the car and told the driver to the center of downtown.
She was let off and she glanced around. Her eyes spotted a male version of Yumi and she called out to him. After getting acquainted with him and his friend, Joey, the three of them walked a couple of steps, but were stopped by a woman challenging Ivana.
She easily took care of her in less that three moves and received her locater card. “Wow Ivana! You’re really good at Duel Monsters! How about after this tournament we have a duel.” Joey challenged her.
“Oh please, you can’t even come close to my skills, but you can sure try.” She smirked as he got riled up. “Chill puppy, I’m just teasing you.” She smiled and patted his head. She heard a familiar voice and popped her head out from behind Joey in time to see a girl tackle Yugi. “Ah! Yumi!” She pushed Joey out of the way and was next in line for a hug.

"Ivana!" Yumi squealed, delighted that she wouldn't have to run around an approximate fifty square blocks trying to find her. "I've been calling you for the last half an hour!" she said, and then noticed the locator card that was in Ivana's hand as Yumi went to hug her. While they embraced, Yumi could feel heat radiating from Ivana's back and sent soothing waves of magic through her hands. "Apparently you have more to explain I'm guessing?" she whispered before releasing her from a near death-grip. Yumi wasn't sure the last time the tattoo of Ra had flared -for lack of better word since she knew little of the magic that was at play- but she was sure it hadn't been recently. And Yumi knew for a fact that Ivana would have told her what was going on if it had happened prior to their phone conversation.
Yugi watched the exchange curiously before asking, "you two know each other?"
Yumi nodded, grinning. "We've known each other for a while," she explained. "I'm guessing you guys got acquainted with each other while I was running around the city?"
Her brother nodded and then looked towards his blonde friend. "Yumi, this is my best friend, Joey Wheeler. Joey, this is my sister, Yumi. Ivana and I were talking until she was challenged to a duel; she's a great duelist."
"Nice to meet you," Yumi said politely, holding out her hand.
Yami appeared next to Yugi seemingly watching other things than the four teens. "Perhaps we should find some place more private to talk about matters," he suggested.
"Agreed," Yumi said, now even more curious. This person could pass as her and Yugi's older brother...so who is he? When Yugi and Yami looked at her with shocked and curious expressions, she laughed nervously and waved her hand. "Oops..." To her, spirits looked more solid than transparent so she often forgot when she was speaking to spirits that other people couldn't see them too, or that they were spirits all together. When she first met a new spirit, it usually only dawned upon her that she was speaking with a spirit because they would abruptly come and go without walking out a door.
"You can see him?" Yugi whispered. Yumi nodded sheepishly, rocking on her toes. She was never sure which of her family members knew of her being a sorceress but she guessed it was only her dad and Ivana for the current moment. The gift was passed down only to females and it skipped every generation so it must've been overlooked since her grandmother wasn't around much to teach her anything. However, she really did want to get going to somewhere they could talk. She did, after all, literally run out the door to get to Domino because Ivana desperately needed her and she would like to know why. And the sooner the better.

As Yumi hugged Ivana and soothed her back, the blond and brunette let out a small relaxing sigh. ”Much more explaining.” She whispered back and nodded.
Joey on the other hand wasn’t as calm. ”Wait a minute! She looks just like you Yug! You have a sister?!” He exclaimed pointing to her and then looked between the two. ”You never told me!” He appeared in front of Yumi immedietly with his signiature grin. ”Well hello there. I am Joey Wheeler, second best duelist to your brother.” He flirted as he shook her hand.
When Yami appeared, Ivana could see him, thanks to her connection to Ra, but to her he was transparent looking. She glanced at the apparition and then directed her eyes away. She had heard from Ishizu that the spirit of the pharaoh resided in Yugi, so it didn’t surprise her. But when Yumi answered the spirits comment she elbowed her in the side and shook her head.
Joey cocked his head at the girl who’s hand he still held. It was soft and very warm… He quickly let it go not realizing how long he was holding her hand. When she commented that she agreed he frowned slightly. ”Agree to what?” He cocked his head again and Ivana’s mind rushed quickly. ”Oh I had just said I think it would be better if we talked in a more quiet place.” She said quickly. ”Did you not hear me? Or were you too distracted by her hands?” She teased Joey and the blond glared at her slightly. ”Oh come off it, I’m just teasing you blondie.” She waved at the Brooklyn boy. ”Maybe if we go to a coffee shop?” She suggested to them.

As a blush appeared across Yugi's cheeks, he looked away from his friend sheepishly. If he was going to comment, it was cut off by Joey promptly turning all of his attention to Yumi whose cheeks also adorned a light dusting of pink.
"It's nice to meet you too," Yumi replied, shyly. She wasn't used to people being so outwardly friendly but, surprisingly, Yumi wasn't terribly uncomfortable being the current center of attention. Ivana was much more sociable than she was so, whenever they met someone knew, it was usually Ivana who they paid the most attention too; Yumi preferred it that way being much more introverted. Being more into drawing duel monsters as opposed to actually dueling, Yumi really didn't know what else to say. She just smiled shyly when Joey finally let go of her hands.
When Ivana hinted to her about the spirit, she tried to hide the curiousness from showing on her face. As far as she knew, Ivana couldn't see the spirits that she saw but apparently she could see this one. Strange. Yumi didn't have much time to dwell upon the matter though because as soon as Ivana began to tease Joey, she could feel the heat rushing to her face. "Ivana,," Yumi hissed, thoroughly embarrassed. Unfortunately there was nowhere to hide so she pretended to be intensely studying anything that was not in the direction of Joey or her brother.
Yugi laughed quietly at their antics. After a quick glance at the Pharoah he said more seriously, "a coffee shop is a good idea. There's one a few blocks towards the bay. It's not usually too crowded but it should be enough so others can't eaves drop on our conversation." He could attribute his sister randomly showing up as a coincidence, but knowing Ivana and having them both show up at near the same time? There was definitely something more going on and he knew the Pharaoh wanted to know what it was more than he did. Yugi had a feeling that the less people who knew about it though, the better. Especially with the other members of Kaiba's tournament.
The Pharoah nodded at Yugi and disappeared, waiting for a more opportune time to talk.
"I would love a lime berry smoothie," Yumi said, trying to hide the lingering color on her cheeks, "my treat."

Joey nodded at the mention of the coffee shop. ”Yeah, that one’s not to far off from here.” He said and Ivana nodded. ”Then lead the way blondie.” She waved for him to lead and she stayed behind next to Yumi and tapped her hand softly. ”You can see him right? The other one?” She whispered softly. ”To me he’s very transparent… It’s weird… he’s the first spirit I’ve ever seen… Is this what they look like to you?” She asked and suddenly they were called to. A girl and a boy, both with brown hair were introduced to them as Tea and Tristian. Tea seemed to be a bit nervous around Ivana and appeared to be extremely comfortable around Yumi. It didn’t bother Ivana at all, being the daughter of Maximillian Pegasus, most people either hated her or wanted to be her best friend because of her money. It was very rare to have people actually want to talk with her without payment. Which was why Yumi was her only friend besides her Fortune Ladies and Armed Dragon. When they reached the café Ivana flipped out her credit card and pushed the group out of the way after hearing what they wanted. She quickly swiped her card and when her name came up on the register the barista quickly looked up and down from the name to her face. ”Oh it’s wonderful to have you here Ms. Pegasus. Is there anything we can do for you?””Nothing else except get the drinks I ordered please.” she told the woman who nodded and quickly got to work as she walked to the table the others were at. Joey frowned and looked at her. ”Pegasus? I thought your last name was Hale.” He glanced at his other friends who nodded. ”Biologically my last name is Hale, but legally it’s Pegasus, but we are not here to discuss me are we?” Her eyes flashed between the two siblings with the crazy hair as the coffee and smoothies was passed around. Ivana’s pitch black coffee was set down in front of her and the barista stood there, just looking at her. Ivana looked up and the male barista blushed and quickly bustled away. Ivana ‘tched’ and then returned her attention to the conversation as she sipped her bitter coffee. [[ You're doing fine! ^.^ ]]

Yumi glanced at Ivana from the corner of her eye and her brow rose a tiny smidgen. "I wish," she whispered back, "it would save me a lot of embarrassment. They, he, look solid. Like real people only they show up out of nowhere and leave just the same. Do you know who he-?"
Her question was cut off when Tea and Tristan were introduced. Yumi noticed that Tristan seemed much more interested in Ivana which amused her since apparently for once it seemed they didn't know her relation to the one and only Maximilian Pegasus. He was just drooling over her looks and the look she sent Ivana said so. "I'm Yumi," she replied.
"I wish I could say I've heard more about you," Tea said, sending a look towards Yugi, "how long are you going to be in town?"
"I'm not really sure," Yumi answered, "I'm going to guess at least until Battle City is over..." she looked towards Ivana, or however long it takes.
Yugi smiled but there was an underlying emotion that Yumi got the briefest glance at. He must know that there's something going on, Yumi thought. I wonder if he knows what... She really hated being out of the loop when it involved people she cared about.
It seemed that once they were all together, the questions and quips were flying back and forth faster than a pinball and before Yumi knew it, they were at the coffee shop. She wanted to thank the barista for attracting more attention to them than her and Ivana would have liked but there was nothing to be done about it now.
"The booth in the corner should be big enough," Yugi suggested, taking his sister by the hand and leading them to the more secluded area of the shop.
"I have a feeling I'm the only one who doesn't have much of a clue as to what's going on here," Yumi said. When she looked up, she could see the spirit that could pass for her older brother standing off to the side. She also noticed a bunch of boys staring their way and whispering amongst themselves. It only took a minute for her to realize they had duel disks and she looked like a twin to one of the most famous duelists in the world. "If you would like a picture, I charge five hundred dollars an hour for a photo shoot," she snapped, "minding your own business is free."
Startled, they left the coffee shop and pulled out their phones no doubt to tell their friends about who they'd seen. She gave an exasperated look to Ivana and said, "now that we have some privacy, what's going on?"
"I believe we each have a piece of the story," Yami commented.
Yugi looked at him and nodded. "It's not a coincidence that you both are here," it wasn't a question, but he gave the two girls questioning looks. "I could understand Ivanna being somehow involved but, you don't duel Yumi, do you?"
Yumi shrugged as she sipped her coffee, "my brother is the King of Games and my best friend is the daughter of the creator of Duel Monsters, you don't think I didn't pick up a thing or two over the years did you? But it's all in fun. I don't do tournaments. I do galleries."

Joey cocked his head as he took a sip of his coffee. "Galleries? What's that?" he asked and Ivana took the time to stare straight at the Pharaoh. Interesting. She was quiet intrigued by him, seeing as he's the first spirit that she's ever seen. But she couldn't quite believe that he's the pharaoh of the prophesy.
”I guess I'll start with my side. I wanted to go to e tournament, just for fun and to get out of the house. But when I got here I met up with Ishizu. She told me about you, Yugi, and the Gods. When I was younger and my father was making the cards I made a connection with them. Ishizu believes that I will be of some help with getting them back from, I don't know if you've met him yet, Marik." she explained. "I can tell you this about him, he's got a whole other side to him. He likes to play mind games and for some reason he really hates that guy in your puzzle." she reached over and tapped the jewelry hanging on Yugi's neck.
Ivana noticed the small glare that Tea gave her when she touched Yugis necklace, but ignored it. "Wait.... So you're saying that this Marik guy has all these Egyptian God Cards?" Joey asked and Ivana shook her head. "He has Slypher and Ra. I know he still has Ra, that's the card I have most connection to, but obelisk is in another's hands. Ishizu said she gave him to Seto Kaiba." she stated and glanced at Yumi. "I asked Yumi to come for... Moral support." she couldn't say 'to make sure my back doesn't burn off with her magical powers' but she hoped that Yumi would get the idea of what she meant. "Rich boy has a God Card?! He'll be hard to beat now Yug'." Joey nodded and crossed his arms. "Obelisk may be powerful, but so are the other two. Besides, each of them has their own weakness." Ivana stated as she took a sip of her pitch black bitter drink. "Oh you know?! What are they tell us!" Ivana shook her head. "Not allowed to. Ishizu said the Pharaoh needs to figure out the weaknesses on his own to learn more about his past. I can't help you in that aspect." she said and Joey glared at her. "Take it up with Ishizu and complain to her. Not me." she said and took another sip. Ivana's cell phone rang and she picked it up and turned away from the group. "Ivana here.... No.... No you put it.... No.... The other file…. Are you an idiot? Just give me the ID and I'll do it. Yes now..... I don't care." she listened for a few more seconds then hung up. "Sorry. You're turn Yugi." she said and took out a small pen from her hair. She pressed a button and it turned into a small tripod with a very tiny protector. She tapped it and a holograph of a computer appeared. She began to type and fix was her secretary just broke in the system. Sometimes being the adopted daughter of CEO sucks.

Yumi stared at him a moment, trying to figure out if he was serious or joking with her. Sometimes it was hard to tell; some people mocked her introverted preferences. "Art galleries and contests," she replied. "I'm an artist. I was actually just putting the final touches on my latest submission when Ivana called me. I'll have to forfeit this year but I couldn't say no to my best friend needing moral support for one of the biggest duel monsters tournament since Duelist Kingdom." Yumi decided not to mention that this competition happened yearly with surrounding cities all competing in the city's largest art museum.
"Maybe you could gain an appreciation for something other than dueling Joey," Tristan teased. "I'm sure Yumi would give you a lesson on some of the simpler works of art out there."
"Did you bring any drawings with you?" Yugi asked.
Yumi nodded, pulling out her sketch book from her bag. She opened the page containing her favorite duel monster since that was a common interest around the table.
"You're really talented Yumi," Tea commented.
"Thank you," Yumi replied.
"You better watch out Yumi," Yugi said with a mischievous smile, "Grandpa will have you designing new posters for the shop once he sees how good you are."
Yumi gave him a look and returned her sketch book to her bag and took a sip of her drink before it completely melted.
Yami looked at Ivana and inclined his head, just enough to be noticed. He thought of a few theories as to why Yumi could see him, such as being directly related to Yugi, but why Ivana could was more of a mystery to him. Perhaps it was the connection with the God cards she had mentioned. The God cards that he and Yugi were suppose to retrieve.
"I don't know Ivana," Yumi said impishly, "I have a feeling even you don't know all the secrets to the Egyptian Gods. They are Gods after all." And Gods were even trickier than spirits. "I thought you were looking for a new secretary?" It was a rhetorical question; one she didn't expect an answer to.
Yugi looked towards the Pharoah who nodded before he looked between his sister and Ivana. "Well, the Pharoah met with Ishizu just before the start of Battle City. There was a stone slab at the museum beneath the Egyptian exhibit showing an ancient battle between the Pharaoh and someone who looks just like Kaiba. Ishizu said that in order for the Pharaoh to regain his memories, he would need all seven millennium items. I guess you could say this is the tournament is the next step to fulfilling our destiny."
Yami noticed Yugi wasn't elaborate in his description. He couldn't say why though, nor could he ask since there were two girls who could see and hear him. Instead, he settled back in his soul room where he and Yugi could talk within their minds.
"What are you thinking?" Yami asked.
"What?" Yugi replied, confusion shining in his eyes.
"You don't seem too eager to repeat all that we've learned," he replied casually. "Either Ishizu informed Ivana well or she knew more than she let on before arriving for the tournament."
Yugi shrugged, not knowing how to reply. "I guess. There's so much we don't know yet."
"We'll figure it out," he assured.
Outside, a duel started with a rather large monster being summoned right near the window. Yumi jumped spilling her smoothie all over the front of her shirt mumbling under her breath while trying to off with the meager pieces of paper they tried to pass off as napkins. "I was not expecting that," she said, a slight tinge of pink rising to her cheeks.

Joey smiled at the pictures as he recognized the drawing. Blizzard Princess huh? "Wow! You're really good!" he told her and was about to hand back the drawing when the monster was summoned. "Yikes!" he yelled as Tea quickly pushed against him scared for her life, forcing him and Tristan out of the seat. He glared at the brunette and then spotted Yumi's messy shirt. He quickly took off his blue jean jacket and handed it to her. "Here." he grinned at her and Ivava's eyes snapped to the boys grin, her fingers paused and then after a thought, she continued to work. She should have fired her recent secretary and gotten a new one, but no. She just have to give this idiot another chance. Her father was going to get angry at the secretary when he finds out that he's still there.
Ivana glared at the person who summoned the monster. Sure they couldn't see her, but it didn't stop her. She pressed a button on her tripod and it turned off and she returned it behind her ear. Her coffee was gone in another sip and she placed it on the table, only for the male barista from before to quickly take it and throw it in the trash for her. Joey attempted to get the attention of then barista and was unsuccessful, so Ivana decided to help him out. "Excuse me, Barista?" instantly there were three different baristas at their table asking what they needed. "My friend was trying to get your attention." "Any friend of you is a prized customer." one said and she resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "Oi, she spilled her drink." Joey started to explain. "We'll get another one for her!" one ran off, the second one brought more napkins and the third one refused to take Ivana's card. "It's on the house miss Pegasus." Ivana nodded and handed Yumi her new drink. "It must be nice to be famous." Tea sighed, her thoughts fading into her dream land. Ivana made no move to respond to that statement, but instead looked at Yugi.
"Well Yugi, this is where I bid you goodbye until we bump into each other. You better be ready for the semi finals, I don't want to have to demollish your pride in two turns." she smirked at him and gave him a small wink. She gave a small hug to Yumi. "It might be best if you stay here with Yugi and his friends." she gave her a look that said she would be safer with them. Being connected with Ishizu and the God Cards meant that she was probably in more danger than she would like. She'd rather have Yumi be safe with those whom she knew could take care of her, and she was positive Joey would- "Yeah! Besides, we'll have fun!"- be all up for the idea. She held in a small chuckle and smiled to Yumi as she stood up. She gave the group a small wave and headed out of the cafe.
Ivana had quickly finished off another amateur duelist and smirked as she collected her fifth card. Just one more and she’d be on her way to the semi finals. She was walking by an alley and she spotted one guy passed out and a black haired kid standing up to a man who looked like he was about to knock him out. As his fist reared back she quickly caught it.
”Hey, do you really want Kaiba to disqualify you this early in the game?” She asked him and pushed him away from the kid, as she moved infront of him in a protective stance. Sure she didn’t know much fighting, and in heels and a dress sure didn’t help but she would protect this kid.

Tristan glared at Joey and tried to maneuver out from underneath but couldn't due to Tea still being on top of Joey. "Do ya think you two could possibly get off me so I can get off the floor?" he grumbled.
"Sorry," Tea said, pulling herself up with the help of Yugi. "Thanks Yugi."
"No problem, Tea."
"Thanks," Yumi said as Joey handed her his jacket, her blush deepening much to her brother's amusement. "Thank, Ivana," she said, accepting the drink, happy the attention wasn't on her and her newly tie dyed shirt. She closed the jacket a little tighter around the stain. "I'll be sure to have this washed by tomorrow."
"Kaiba did a really good job on the new version of the duel disk," Yugi commented, watching the duelists out the window. "It's more efficient than having to throw the original version wouldn't you agree Joey?"
"Original version?" Yumi asked, looking between Joey, Ivana, and Yugi.
"In Duelist Kingdom Kaiba and Joey had a duel using the original version of the duel disk," Yugi explained. "It was a very different experience from the platforms that we were just getting used to dueling on."
"Oh," Yumi replied, swirling her new drink. If she was going to be around for Battle City, it might be an advantage to get acquainted with the newest technology instead of the newest paint colors she could concoct.
"I look forward to dueling with you," Yugi replied, a challenging, but happy, gleam in his eye.
Yumi nearly throttled her friend by the shoulders when Ivana hugged her. "Are you crazy?" she hissed, barely above a whisper. Noticing the smile Ivana sported when Joey jumped on the idea of her hanging around with them, Yumi sent a smoldering glare that said you-will-pay-for-that-coniving-stunt. Not only for that little stunt but also for leaving her less than a choice to separate with her in case something went wrong. Namely with Rah. At least they were in the same city.
The spirit appeared beside Yugi again and said, "I also look forward to a duel with her. She seems like an honorable and worthy opponent." Yumi had to bite back a retort. Worthy. Yes. Honorable. Not for leaving her in such a situation. Yugi nodded in agreement.
"You two aren't going to get ahead by sitting here finishing your drinks next week," Tea said, standing up to leave. "You better go and start collecting more locator cards."
"Let's go," Yugi agreed, grinning.
"What good will disqualifying him do when I can defeat him and collect his locator cards?" Seto Kaiba sneered as he walked down the alleyway. He activated his duel disk and waited until the thug did the same. The match was over in a few moves and his opponent handed over two locator cards and his strongest card: nothing that was any value to him so he slipped into his pocket and turned to the girl who's voice originally attracted his attention. "Well, Ivana Hale...or should I say Ivana Pegasus? I wasn't sure I'd be meeting you this early in the game."

Joey smiled as at Yumi at the idea of her being with them. His pride quickly rose as they began to walk down the street with him next to her. ”So Yumi, do you play duel monsters?” He asked. ”I saw that you drew them, which was amazing, but have you ever dueled?” He attempted to make small talk with her. He was good with women he didn’t have any feelings towards, but this girl was really pretty. Talking to her normally would almost be like Tristan trying to talk normally to his sister. Almost impossible. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a sign that said ‘Ocean World.’ On it had Mako Tsunami on it and Joey stared at it. Was he seeing things right?
”Oi, Tea? Is that Mako?” He asked and Tea quickly walked over next to him and looked intently at it. ”It is!” She exclaimed, shocked. She’d never thought they’d see him again! Especially in here! She always thought that maybe he lived in a shack on the sea shore. ”Let’s go in a check it out!” She told them and Joey grinned. He’d be able to sit next to Yumi. Maybe even hold hands with a pretty girl.
They walked in and after the show, and a few incomplete ideas of holding hands, Mako challenged Joey to a duel which in the end Joey was the victor. After they walked out of the stadium he puffed out his chest and grinned at Yumi. ”I’m pretty good aren’t I?” He asked her, his hands behind his head.
Ivana’s eyes snapped to Kaiba’s as he appeared. The way he held himself and talked was exactly how Ishizu had told her. Prideful, and a snob. She watched as the duel was over quickly and the shorter black haired boy smiled up at her. ”Thanks for helping me, but my brother has it from here!” He told her and she patted his head before he took off to stand by his brothers side. ”You’ll be seeing a lot more of me. Especially in the finals.” She told him as she tucked a couple of strands behind her ear, keeping eye contact with him. She wasn’t going to come right out and say she was going to wipe the floor with him, but she was pretty sure he knew what she meant. ”Though I do have to compliment you, it’s a pretty good tournament you have here.” She told him.

"I only play for fun sometimes," Yumi replied. "The last time I played was with Ivana. She really wanted to show me the 'new' dueling platforms they used at Duelist Kingdom. I think I still prefer the old table method." Yumi looked at the sign that had suddenly captivated Joey and Tea's interest. "Mako Tsunami? Is that his real name?"
Yugi laughed. "I don't think so but he certainty lives up to its reputation. He's an excellent duelist Joey and I met in Duelist Kingdom. He wanted to win the prize money to buy another boat in hopes of finding his father."
"Oh," Yumi replied with widened eyes.
"Come on Yu'," Yugi said, tugging her towards the entrance.
After the duel was over, and they were walking out, Yumi took a count of the things she was leaving with that she hadn't come with: she had officially had adopted a miniature whale plushie, an autographed picture of Mako on a surf board with dolphins jumping around him, and a handful of tickets to his next show. "I see you guys have a lot of friends," Yumi commented, figuring that was the reason she was leaving with so many souvenirs.
"I've met a lot of people dueling," Yugi agreed. "Although it's hard to predict if and when we'll ever meet again."
"Joey, if your ego gets any bigger, it's going to pop with the next thing you run into," Tristan teased.
Yumi looked at Yugi, who was simply smiling at his friend. "Yeah Joey, you did great," she offered. "Your dragon is pretty cool. It's like the opposite of the Blue Eyes White Dragon."
Tristan snickered and Yugi grinned wider. Yumi glanced at them wondering what she had missed.
Kaiba smirked and shook his head, "we'll see. This tournament is none like you've ever entered although I'll admit your dueling skills are superior to most who've entered this tournament. If we duel in the finals, I look forward to acquiring your Cyberdark Dragon. Come on Mokuba, let's go."
He took one last glance at the illustrious daughter of Pegasus. It was two things they had in common; they were both adopted by powerful business men, and they were both elite duelists. Indeed it would be an interesting duel if she could make it to the finals.

Joey glanced at Yumi whom was holding a small whale plushie and a signed picture of Mako. He was a little jealous about her getting the signed picture and the slight fliring that Mako had done, but he ignored it for the time being.
”My ego is at a perfect size.” He nudged Tristan’s waist with his elbow. At Yumi’s compliment his face turned a soft pink color. ”My Red-Eyes is the best dragon around! No one can beat me!” He gave her a thumbs up.
”Yeah, everyone except for Kaiba, and Yugi, and Me… Let’s see who else is there?” Tea began to pretend to count on her fingers the people he had lost to and gave a silly grin when Joey tried to hush her up.
”Rich boy is just lucky. His Blue Eyes is nothing compared to my Red Eyes.” He assured the Yugi look a like. His cheeks were flushed with a light pink color and Tea smirked as she pushed him slightly towards Yumi. His arm bumped hers softly and he jerked back as if he touched an electric fence. ”Sorry.” He mumbled softly and then sent a glare towards Tea.
Ivana smirked at his attitude. ”I’d like to see you try that without using Obelisk.” She told him and gave a small wave and smile to Mokuba who gave one back before she turned and walked back onto the sidewalk and out of the alley.

Tristan gave Joey a look and said, "Right, keep telling yourself that pal."
Yugi snickered softly, trying to look the other way and cover his mouth to hide the fact. Even the spirit seemed to be amused at Joey's antics. Yumi felt her cheeks burning a strawberry red. "It's amazing that you and my brother are two of the top duelists in the world," Yumi started, sending a meaningful look at Yugi, "I remember Yugi and I sneaking into our mom's make up and playing dress up over a tea party."
Yugi instantly sobered, sending a glare towards Yumi who smiled. The spirit of the puzzle looked at Yugi curiously. Yugi said nothing. At least that Yumi could hear.
"You must have an older sibling, Tristan," Yumi commented, noticing he was also quiet.
"A sister," Tristan replied.
As suddenly as she felt a stream of magic flow through the streets, it was gone. Yumi looked around to see where it could have possibly originated. Everyone seemed to be going about their normal every day activities seemingly oblivious to the magic that she had just felt. What was that? she thought. "Sorry," Yumi said, taking her cell phone from her pocket, "I need to ask Ivana something." Is everything ok? Yumi text.
Kaiba snorted. "I didn't become the world champion because I had Obelisk," he retorted. How dare she insult his skill? At his tournament nonetheless. "Just be sure not to lose before I get the chance to defeat you. Otherwise I'd just be wasting my time."
