and they are coming in three weeks
so you bet your a** im gonna wanna roleplay
anyone up for one/ones small-group character-driven not-fancy-plot-stuffthattakesforever roleplay brainstorming with me?

Running with Lady Robayn's idea...
I like the idea of limiting to one power, so if super strength that's all you got, no flying to go with it. Maybe extra cool points for abilities that are different of interesting...no idea how that would be of use but it sounds niffty. Go a semi-future time frame, something like 2025 so no laser guns or super sci-fi but something were new technology is able to be used for heroes who wish to use them. Also it would allow for interesting bad guys, go the Shadowrun route and have cooperate run societies were the big business people are the rulers of areas and govern everything. The Heroes are either hired mercenary style to guard these people or places, or work to stop them and bring back some form of people approved government system.
My style of idea...
Do what we all know how to do well, and take it fantasy style. Maybe run with the little setting Lady Tes already kind of cooked up in her, Ijustwanttorp thread she made. Seemed well enough fleshed out to allow for some fun to be had their with new and different character styles.
Working of an existing media...
Game of Thrones setting. I know still fantasy but more political and we pick the houses we wish to represent and make it some time in the future after all the stuff in the books. Roll the dice for what house has the thrown and then start rolling characters for the houses.
that's what I got to throw into the brainstorm.

I have not lady Tes, but I can always use the niffty ol' world-wide-web and find out what I need. I'm really behind on my reading of good books, I have one now that I'm taking forever to read...I'm a lazy reader lol.

ooo modern fantasy now there is something we have not done. Old D20 style, elves and dwarves, witches and wizards, dragons and demons...in New York city. Take all the fantasy ideas and now through some modern day technology, and modern day politics and you have yourself a wonderful mix of fun stuff.
Enchanting guns and bullets to have benefits like swords and arrow did. Swords and arrows and axes are still see-able weapons but they would need to be enchanted to have a chance against guns. I like it, I'm game.

sorry lady Tes, you know me I get to talking and I don't shut up lol. I think the idea could be easily simplified as such. All fantasy ideas work within the modern time frame and it is common knowledge with fantasy races mixing with humans.
Basically you can be an elf living in an apartment complex who works for a computer business to keep secrets from the competitors with a gun and sword. A half-orc bum living off the streets getting hired to be a bodyguard for a pop star. Just take today's world and throw in fantasy stuff in place where it would fit best...bloody hell I'm getting to into it again I think...
Elves + Guns + Magic + Computers = RP
No fantasy race is off limits as everyone here should show some level of creativity and not go making a dragon cab driver. I'll even write up the first post set up with just a few questions answers.
Setting: Real cities or made up?
Antagonist: Modern day evil cult or big business tycoons
World: At war, on the edge or war, after a war, or peace
I'm not really good at keeping it simple am I...maybe I should just wait and see what comes about and jump in when it happens... sweatdrop
