Flame of Curiosity
Long after the creation of the universe order has been established for many cycles. Cresence and Rayner continue their plans for the universe and have started to create new forms of life. While Caym and Anaita continue their work on keeping the current worlds in balance. Anaita is constantly bugging Caym for a chance to see the worlds at night. He has always refused, but her persistence is beginning to wear him down.

It isn't safe to rest around such a beast..."Chitiro are there any planets left on this cycle to do?" asked Caym walking down a ornate corridor. The castle of creation was a beautiful thing indeed, but Caym preferred the dark solitude of his quarters. It was hard to think with all these shiny objects and bright chandeliers. A small creature in flame colored armor walked at his side waving his arms as some kind of display opened up. "Well there is one, but its night cycle is a long time from now. Its the cooling period now where Anaita is just preparing the world for you." he answered. Caym sighed. "How long do I have to wait?" he asked. Chitiro did some quick calculations. "About 0.006942 orbital cycles (which amounts to about one hour.)" answered the tiny warrior. "That's not to long at all. Be ready to set out soon. I want to be out of here before Anaita.." he said before he heard Anaita's voice close by. Hiding in a shadow he left poor Chitiro to deal with Anaita for him.
Chitiro looked around confused as Anaita walked up to him. He was quite short so he had to look up at her. Back up to be polite and getting a look at her face he bowed. "Hello lady Anaita." he greeted. Even he was sure that she was looking for Caym. Her asking for a ride to the dark realm was an every-cycle occurrence. He noticed that Anaita was looking around trying to find where Caym would be hiding, and most of the time she was able to find him despite Caym's attempts to hide. She had actually became quite proficient at it.
Crescence was walking down the hallways as well. Her same cool attitude as always she was headed to her room. Watching the creation of new planets was tiring and infuriating since she didn't want to make new ones in the first place. But that alone wasn't her decision. Sensing Caym and Anaita in the hallways she knew that she was probably pestering him about the dark realm again. Usually she would interrupt at this point, but today felt different. It seemed as if Caym was finally at his limit. She would just wait this time around, and watch things play out. She hid behind a wall able to hid her aura completely from them, but someone walked up next to her. Placing her hand on the person's mouth she saw it was Rayner. "Snooping again" he said muffled. Rayner was used to his wife's games by now, and sometimes found them quite amusing. ...Just might get bitten.

~ From the day we arrive on the planet and blinking step into the sun, there's more to see than can ever be seen, more to do than can ever be done.Leaning her head back, Anaita let the last rays of the sun soak into her skin. She had been preparing this new world for Caym and his world of darkness. If it wasn't from experience, she would ask why the darkness must find its way into such a peaceful place, but their leader says balance is important and so it is. They all were even designed in pairs, a perfect balance between the two. Caym, her other half, however would never see it that way. He always tried to hide from her, to which she never fully understood. It wasn't like she was a little vicious thing that would cause him harm. She could, but it wasn't in her nature to try to harm him. He had an important task to do and she wouldn't get in his way. She merely wanted to understand how he did his task. She wouldn't complain or hide like a child if he should ever want to join her while she went to work. But that was just one of the numerous differences between the two: never could fully agree with the other when in the same space.
Speaking of same space, it was almost time for Caym to start his task in this world which meant one thing: she would have to go and ask him to take her with him again. Flashing back to the Castle of Creation, she went down the hallways till she heard Chitiro. Caym wouldn't be far from the creature and thus she would be able to find him. Making her presence known by stepping louder in her heels, she turned the corner and walked up to the creature. "Hello Chitiro. You, by any chance, haven't seen Caym have you?" she asked sweetly and waited for a response. She'd never tell anyone this, but the little creature always looked in the general direction Caym was hiding. Aloud he would say no, he hadn't seen Caym for most of the day's orbital cycles. Such a horrible liar, but she'd never rat him out. Chitiro always meant well.
"I see, well I'm sure I'll find him. Anaita said as she began to wander around. After ten minutes, she finally stepped into Caym's hiding space. Crossing her arms, she laughed lightly and held her hand out to him as though to offer him help out of the dark. "I do not understand why you always hide from me. To be quite honest, if you just took me once I'd stop bothering you and leave you be to do your task as you see fit. That doesn't sound too bad does it?" she asked as she gave him a dazzling smile. She might have a kind and pure heart, but she wasn't an idiot. Anaita knew she was beautiful and when adding that to the pure light essence she is, it was hard for some people to resist her charm. Caym, for the most part, could, but at time he relented at her persistence. At least this would be proof to him that she had a great focus and determination to get what she wants done, which is of course applicable to her half of their duties. There's far too much to take in here, more to find than can ever be found. But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky keeps great and small on the endless round. ~

We're both destined for oblivion... "Sorry Caym I tried!" said Chitiro disappointed in himself. Caym sighed. "I know you did Chitiro..." he said taking Anaita's hand. "Just once? And never again?" said Caym thinking. Still holding her hand her turned into a shake. "Once, and I never want to here you ask again." he said sadly. He almost felt her jump out of her skin, but it didn't happen. Sadly because that would have been something crazy to see. Seeing her light up made him blush slightly as he scratched his face. Then realizing he was still holding her hand he retracted it nervously. "You may not be so happy when you see me at work." he said smiling. But she knew what she was in for when she asked to go. She may not look it but she was a tough cookie.
"We are leaving in seven minutes. Be ready to go at that time." he said. Sitting down next to Chitiro he looked him in the eyes. Both of their eyes shone brightly. This was the process that attuned them to the world that they needed to teleport to, and made it possible to warp back easily. Once that was done they were ready to go. "You already have the world memorized right Anaita?" he asked. "Alright lets go to the tallest tower of this town here." he said as he tapped her forehead slightly. They were able to share simply thoughts this way as they were two halves of one power. "We'll be back soon Chitiro." Vanishing in shadows and light the two appeared on the tower previously mentioned. This world was still pretty new so the population was in its medieval period. The tower was set in the middle of a large castle.
"Not bad. They reached this period faster than the rest, but the corruption is pretty high in this area as well." he said breathing in deep. Sitting on the edge of the tower. "See that guy?" asked Caym pointing to a rather thin fellow leaning off of a balcony. "He's the kings advisor, and has been making deals with that" he said pointing to what seemed like nothing. Remembering that Anaita can't see it he gave her a small amount of power exposing a large demon stuck to the side of the castle. Anaita almost fell back when it appeared suddenly. "I bet that thing looks like nothing during the day." he said laughing. "They are alot better at hiding than me. Now the thing you have to remember is that the person at fault her isn't the demon. Its the adviser that brought it here. But both have to be killed. its like digging up the root of a weed. If you don't get it the weed with just grow back. But if you don't take the plant with it the spores with fall into the soil."
Standing up he drew both his swords and lept off the tower. Landing next to the man he smirked. The man fell to the ground holding his chest. "Damn you!" yelled the demon swinging an arm and talking the balcony down. Caym flipped backward and ran on the wall slicing off the demon's arm, but as expected it grew back. Before the demon knew where he was Caym was inside the castle chasing the man. Caym liked to make a game out of it. Just how scared could he get the man before he literally died of fright. This time the game was sadly short. The man tripped and turned to Caym offering him any sum of money. Caym said nothing and continued towards the man. The demon dropped from the ceiling behind the man and charged at Caym. Throwing his sword he hit the man in the forehead killing him instantly. The demon turned small and tried to stop it's charge, but it was to late. The demon fell into six pieces behind Caym as he called his blade back to his hand. The demon's soul tried to float off, but Caym opened his hand forcing it back before opening his mouth and swallowing it whole. Knowing Anaita was behind him he continued his explanation. "And then it is recycled."
A maid hearing the commotion rushed out to the adviser. "Assassin!" she yelled. Guards came and tan off looking for the killer. But they could see neither Caym nor Anaita. It made things simple, but not getting credit for his work got on Caym's nerves. "There are people like this all over the place. Some are demon's in human form, but the little ones are nothing to worry about. The big ones are the manifestations that must be cleared out regularly. I'm sure you've seen those with Greed selling over priced good in the market. Or cheating husbands...They are nothing as they are, but they all usually become a nuisance. No matter how many good deeds they try to cover it up with."
...Why not go hand in hand.

~ Walking through a dream, I see you. My light in darkness breathing hope of new life."As long as I receive the answers to the questions that plague my mind, then yes Caym. I will forever and eternity be out of your hair." Anaita said thoughtfully. She had to make sure he heard the stipulation to her request. Her curiosity had to be satisfied by the end of his task this night before she would leave him be. The good part was, that if he succeeded, then she would honor her word as she has always done. Smiling even brighter as he shook her hand, she was so excited to see him work. Yes, he was right. She would not be happy watching the things he was about to do. In fact, she may be horrified, mortified, and a lot of other synonyms because of what she may see, but if it helped her understand their purpose and why things are done as they are, then she shall not complain. Nodding at his time to leave, she waited patiently leaning against the wall for Caym to finish with Chitiro.
Nodding again at his question, she stepped forward so she could leave with him, they vanished in a blink of an eye. As Caym spoke, Anaita watched him more than she watched their surroundings. Sitting beside him, she turned to look at what he was pointing at. To her, it seemed like just another man talking to thin air. Odd for an adviser, but not everyone was perfect. Then he gave her a drop of his power and BAM! One large and ugly demon hanging on the side of the wall. Just the sight of something so vile made her almost fall backwards, but only almost. She regained her composure quickly and tried to think if she had seen anything like it before. To her knowledge, she hadn't. Everything was so much different during the day. There might be crime, but everything was happier and more lighthearted. His time of day she didn't appreciate whatsoever. "But how could the adviser bring it here and how did he know what to bring?" she asked aloud, knowing he'd answer her on his return.
For now, Caym was off gallivanting and being the vigilante that he was meant to be. Sighing, Anaita people watched from her invisible spot. She hardly noticed Caym's return until he swallowed the soul of a demon. "I know it's recycled, but that just seemed so disgusting." she said as she touched her mouth and imagined eating something so vile. Nope... she couldn't even imagine it. She was so lucky she was the Fate of Light and not of Darkness. Standing, she wiped off her dress and moved towards Caym, more questions rattling in her mind. She was patient for him to tell her all he wanted to before she jumped him with what was on her mind. "But how do you decide which ones to eliminate? Here people are both filled with light and darkness, so when is it decided to kill one but not the other? Is there some limit they can have to darkness and yet not to light? To be honest, I don't see the balance." she said as she looked back down to all of the humanoids passing them by. Now I live through you and you through me, enchanting. I pray in my heart that this dream never ends. ~

 So many ways to die...
Caym thought for a moment trying to word things differently. "Think about it this way. In your world there are always bad people, but its tolerable to a degree. I'm sure you've noticed sometimes they get really bad, but they next day poof they are gone. It means they have reached their limit and must be executed." he finished slamming his fist on his open hand. "That way the level of light can start to rise again, but when it gets to high I let things sit for a bit. Eventually light will be able to fend for itself, but I have to always leave a certain amount of bad to even it out." he explained. He looked around for another example and he didn't have to look far. As the guards got away the maid that reported the killing was looting the body.
Leaning against the wall he smirked. "You see this much darkness is tolerable. But say this maid gets a little too greedy. Say she decides to poison the king for a noble. The noble may have been next in line for the throne. There are three things I could do here." Raising his fingers he began. "The land has been in good shape for far to long. I would let both live, and evil would blanket the land. Two I kill the maid and let the king keep his throne, but I leave evidence that the maid made a deal with the noble. Eventually some vigilante will kill the corrupt king. Or Three the land is already in turmoil I kill both the maid and the king and the next in line. Most likely some young king would take hold. Then I leave him to you to nurture and raise him into a good king. I'm sure you've entered the dream scape before to influence others. But I can do that do just at night when I need to plant the seeds of evil. Its pretty much a huge tug of war match. We want a good pull back and forth on both sides. We just need to get the pattern going."
Looking at the time he noticed he had spent a lot of time explaining. He still had to clean this town and the next before dawn. "Come with me I need to finish this town and one more." he said leaping out the window. Standing at the entrance to the town he took out that soul he ate earlier from his chest and through it into the air. A miasma blanketed the town. Carrying disease and misfortune as it spread. Waiting to make sure that it spread correctly he looked at Anaita. "I know it's not pretty. But it has to be done." he said. Suddenly a glass broke and a thief jumped out running down the street. Someone else was stabbed in an alley, and bad things just seemed to spread. He repeated this in the next town. Disposing of a corrupt mayor and spreading his evil in the town. By the end of it he could tell that Anaita didn't have a stomach for it. "Is there anything else you wanted to know before I take us home?" he asked. "I can tell something else is on your mind..." he said tapping her forehead again. "Ah that...Crescence told me to watch the Balanced, but beyond that there were no orders..."
...How is one man supposed to choose?

I may not know it, but these are the moments that I'm gonna remember most, yeah.Anaita wasn't agreeing with anything Caym was saying. It was so set in his mind! "But what's the limit? To you it's so black and white, but isn't there always a gray area? Isn't there more to the balance between light and darkness than what we're told to see?" she asked with crossed arms as she followed him around. Even his examples made no sense to her. Three options revolving around the free will of others. And some of what he thought was so set in stone she saw other options he could take. Then again, she recognized that she was supposed to be different than Caym and their opinions would't match up. "If they have free will, should we be the ones making all of the decisions in the first place? I mean, working behind the scenes takes away a lot of their liberty." Anaita said mainly to herself.
Following him within the town and to the next town, she avoided the miasma if at all possible. This night was nothing like she had expected and it made her silent and slightly let down as she watched what unfolded from his work. Still no answers did not make her feel better about their situation. Maybe when they got back to the castle she'd talk to Rayner or Crescence... Nah, that would end up with more problems than she would want to handle. She'd just keep her opinions to herself. By the end of their night, she was done with everything. "There has to be more to this life, don't you think?" she asked with a sigh. She was ready to be home and away to the roof. Sitting beneath the light of their home always soothed the stress in her heart and soul. It was there she could sort through her thoughts and form her opinions that she would keep to herself.
After Caym's answer, he teleported them back to the castle. Politely thanking him for taking her along, Anaita turned her back on him and walked off quickly. She was practically running by the time she reached the stairs. She needed to get to the balcony so she could fly up to the room. Teleporting she could do, but she hated it. Flying was what she preferred to do. Once on the balcony, she checked to see if anyone was around before going up to the roof. 'So much for answers. What all is there that we aren't meant to see?' she thought to herself as she looked up at the sky. Just gotta keep going. And I, I got to be strong. Just keep pushing on.

Those that bare their names..."The limit is what ever I want it to be. For the most part its a game of trial and error." he answered. "We've been doing this for to long to start questioning the ways thing are now. If we don't do our job the world falls apart. Isn't that enough reason to stay on this path?" Anaita knew what he was talking about, but that didn't change her mind in the slightest. Caym felt bad for Anaita. This is what he was trying to spare her from. And even though she now saw what she needed to see he didn't feel relieved. He felt like he had hurt her in some way. As they teleported back and she walked away he wanted to reach out for her. But he didn't. She needed to sort things out for herself for now.
Caym crossed his arms deep in thought before hearing familiar bouncy steps behind him. Chitiro jumped up onto Caym's head announcing his pressence. "What did you do?!" he said leaning over and stretching out Caym's face. Unmovable Caym responded. "I didn't sugar coat it. She wanted to know how I killed and I showed her. She raised a lot of good points. but I dismissed them. Am I wrong to want to keep things as they are?" asked Caym. Chitiro thought for a moment. "Yes. You are wrong. Things must evolve. They must change. That's how the universe is. Alive and changing." he answered. Picking Chitiro up by the tail he looked him in the eye. "You saying I should apologize or something?" said Caym eyeing Chitiro like a snack. Chitiro started to panic.
"No." said a voice from behind him. Crescence looked down at him with her all knowing eyes. She was taller than him and Anaita. Even though he was fully grown she always made him feel like a child. But this was the form she chose. Bowing his head he acknowledged her. "You are right to follow your orders. The worlds must be kept like this in order to thrive." she continued. "You sure that's not just you being nosy?" said a voice behind Caym once more. This time it was Rayner. "You guys always do this...its creepy." said Caym stepping to the side. "Opposing arguments should come from separate sides of the room, no?" answered Rayner. "But every time? Do you keep tabs on conversations and come from the correct side just for that?" asked Caym. Crescence and Rayner turned to Caym at the same time. "Yes" they both answered. Then turned back to each other. "I think we should run an experiment Crescence." said Rayner. "I'm willing to bet my pupil here." Caym was confused. "I'm being bet?" he said. But he wasn't answered. "We've kept a hold on him and not Anaita for what reason?" asked Rayner. "For the sake of keeping the dark at bay." answered Crescence.
"Then I'd say that is unneeded I've seen it myself. Light can hold it own. Anaita is proof of that. if I win this bet you will release your hold on Caym, and allow him to think for himself." suggested Rayner. "And if I win?" asked Crescence curiously. "You can have Anaita back." Crescence smiled mischievously. "You have a deal. But what are the terms?" Rayner smiled at the chance to test out something new. "I have a new planet that is uninhabitable by any standards. But it's perfect for an all out brawl. Caym and Anaita will fight. Caym limited by your control, and Anaita free to fight as she pleases." Crescence was curious by what he meant by limited. "To be controlled by me is true freedom. But if what you say is true..." she said. "Exactly." asnwered Rayner. Crescence thought for a while, but nodded. "You have your deal. This will settle things once and for all. Caym inform Anaita." she answered.
Caym was beyond confused, but he knew an order when he heard it. Walkign away from the couple he thought. "Controlled" he said looking at his hands. "No that's not true. This hatred is my own. This fury is my own!" he thought. Walking down the corridors he reached Anaita's room and gave it three stern knocks. With no answer he closed his eyes connecting to her for a brief moment. Teleporting to the roof behind Anaita with his back to her crouching. "Looks like we stirred something up. We are to fight each other for a bet. And we are the prizes." he said standing up and stretching. "I have to say I've been wondering who would win between us" ...Never turn your back on pride.

~ All these lives that you've been taking, deep inside, my heart is breaking. Broken homes from separation. Don't you know it's violation? No matter which way Anaita looked at it, she just couldn't justify it. They don't know that the world would fall apart! Why? They never not did their job. They were always dutiful and precise. So just because Crescence and Rayner said the world would fall apart didn't mean it would. Light creates darkness, so isn't it possible it could balance itself out? No sense was made of her situation, so instead she created a ball of light and played with it. It was an easy going orb that she could manipulate into anything she wanted. A great way to ease her mind. There was no point in ending the day on a bad mood. Smiling for a short time, she felt something happen inside the castle. Whatever it was, it'd find its way to her and explain what was going on. There was no chance of it being an attack, but that doesn't mean drama wasn't too far from the roof. "What do you think it is this time little orb?" she asked as she closed her palm and snuffed the light orb out.
Turning to the direction of her room, she knew Caym was looking for her. And by the time she faced forward, he was crouching in front of her but his back faced her. Sighing, she stood and moved to sit next to Caym. "First of all, I am no one's prize unless I choose to be so. It sounds horrible that we're the pawns in their little games. And secondly, neither are supposed to win. We're supposed to be equal remember?" she asked rhetorically as she looked at him. Something was on his mind, but she wasn't going to force him to tell her. As her other half, she did give him much more respect than she did the other Fates. So instead of saying anything to comfort him, she put her hand on his back and rubbed little circles where she found a tense spot. It was the least she could do for his stressful night. He was probably expecting to go to his room and relax in solitude. Instead he was now going to have to fight her after a long night. Not what either of them had expected to happen.
Feeling time move past them, Anaita finally stood and held her hand to him again to help him up. Might as well not push off their fight. "No holding back and no hard feelings about the fight right?" she asked with her sweet voice. The moment he stood, they flashed into the hallway outside the throne room. Even if she didn't want to be a pawn for their amusement, there was no avoiding it. They were their creators and who knew what they would do to them if they tried to refuse? Rayner would be better about it, but that wasn't saying much sometimes. "Ready?" she asked as she put her hand on one of the doors. She'd open the moment he opened the door before him, that way they enter as a united force and not just two opponents. It's so wrong, but you'll see. Never gonna let you take my world from me. The world outside these walls may know you're breathing, but you ain't comin' in. ~

We're both destined for oblivion... "I know you aren't, but I feel that way. If what I was told is true..." he said looking at his hands as he thought. "I'll know when this is over." he said enjoying the back rub. It helped to ease his mind and she was surprisingly good at find the kinks. Taking her hand he stood up and stretched. "No hard feelings from my end. And you know I won't hold back." he said smiling. Flashing infront of the walls of the throne room. he nodded as they opened the doors. Rayner was standing next to his wife as he nodded acknowledging there were there. "I think they are ready to begin." said Rayner smiling.
Walking over to the two of them he scratched the back of his head. "This match will prove once and for all that our meddling in the affairs of the worlds is unnecessary. I know I bet against you Caym. But I acknowledge your warriors spirit. Both of you give it your all." he said hugging both of them. Then with his hands on their shoulders he teleported the three of them to the new planet.
The planet was covered with lava and barren wasteland. But the balance of light and dark was easy to see. "While you two fight I will leave this world, but I will return at the conclusion." he said. "No killing blows of course. The first one to stay down for ten seconds loses." After both Caym and Anaita agreed he teleported away. Caym stepped back a bit and took off his cloak throwing it to the side. His two swords were sheathed on his sides. Summoning a large amount of darkness to his hands his forearms turned black. "I'm ready when you are" he said. After Anaita made some preparations of her own he flashed in and started punching rapidly. She brought up a shield of light and cancelled out the blows. Ducking under the shield he head butted her in the stomach, but gaining her balance she kicked him back hard. Slamming his fist into the ground he stopped himself and reached for his blades. Throwing them in two separate directions. Then he ran up summoning one, but not the other and began to slash at her rapidly.
...Why not go hand in hand.

I will find my way. I can go the distance. I'll be there someday, if I can be strong. Anaita knew something was really troubling Caym, but so far he didn't want to talk about it. And even though she knew she had to fight him, she hoped deep down that this mentality wouldn't impede his abilities, no matter what he said. It almost made her want to hold back while fighting him, but Rayner and Celeste would know. Most importantly, Caym would know. She didn't want him to be mad at her, even if she only had his best interest at heart. So with that thought out, she entered the throne room with him to see Rayner and Celeste far too enthusiastic about this match. It sickened her to be thought of as a mere pawn, and whether or not they heard her thoughts was fine with her. She held her mentor in more regard than she had of her pupil apparently and that stung Anaita very much. At the very least, Rayner acknowledged them and gave them a hug. She guessed it must have been their consolation prize.
On the new planet, Anaita took a step to the left before a vent of hot gases released itself beneath her foot. Here they would be equal, but the land itself could prove a viable asset or liability. Nodding agreement to the stipulations put upon their battle, she readied herself for the fight. Pulling out her Blade of Crimson, she let her energy form a hardened yet transparent armor over her skin. She wanted to make sure her dress wasn't ruined by Caym's attacks. With a sigh, she took her stance and in charged Caym. Pulling up her shield, she deflected his blows only to be hit in the stomach. It pushed her back a bit, but her armor protected her. Using the momentum, she kicked him back hard and made a strategy for her attack. As he was messing with his swords, she had a plan in mind that she thought to be fool proof. He was a very direct man and so she would have to counter that with its opposite to keep him on his toes. His slashing meant nothing to her now that she knew what she was going to do.
Matching him blow for blow, she brought up the lava - a source of light and heat - and sent it flying with her blows towards Caym. He naturally had to jump back to avoid being singed, but here she would make her move. Running at him with her blade dragging in ground, she made sure to use her power to bring up the magma from below this planet's crust and use the lava spouts against Caym. Using both of his weapons now, he tried to over power her and stop her from what she was doing, but Crescence's hold on him ensured that Anaita was more powerful. Pushing him back once more, she sheathed her weapon and now used her hands to control the lava. Caym tried to outrun the lava, but because of the cracks in the ground she made, there was too much to avoid. Eventually he was brought down and held down by the molten rock. She took precautions to make sure it wouldn't burn him, but that didn't mean it wasn't hot enough for him to not try to touch. Ten seconds passed before she cut him free and helped him up, awaiting Rayner's arrival. It was a short battle, one that she was surprised was won so easily. "Did you lose on purpose?" she asked in a hurried whisper before Rayner appeared before them. I know every mile will be worth my while. I will go most anywhere to feel like I belong...

Caym didn't understand anything. He never had that kind of control over anything. He never knew that Anaita held that kind of power. The be able to control the feint light in even inanimate things. He was only able to control darkness itself to make himself stronger. Held down by the lava no matter how he struggled he was unable to free himself. He felt limited in a way. As he counted the seconds to his own defeat as Rayner appeared along side Crescence who was less than pleased. "How could you lose this quickly with my influence?!" demanded Crescence. Rayner smiled. "A true warrior needs no one giving him orders to fight. He needs to be able to feel and react with with the environment." said Rayner in a know it all tone. "Now let the boy go." He said reaching his hand out. "I will not. This match was fixed!" said Crescence. Caym glared at Crescence. "Let me go!" Caym shouted. That hatred surprised even Rayner who thought he has seen him mad before. Crescence raised her hand to Caym shaking as a light shot out from him and back into her. A deep darkness flowed into Caym from all directions. So much that he was brought to his knees. The whites in his eyes pulse black for a moment as his head throbbed with pain. Rayner walked up to him and offered him a hand to help him up. Caym smacked it away and stood up himself. Rayner narrowed his eyes. "I think you forget your place Caym." said Rayner. Caym stepped up to Rayner. "No I think that I'm fine right here." he answered. "Crescence take Anaita home." said Rayner. Cresence collapsed to the ground holding herself and shaking. Rayner turned to help her up and Caym grabbed him by the throat and threw him as far as he could. "Don't look away from me!" he said as he shot off toward Rayner. Punching him hard in the stomach a pillar of molten lava shot into the air. "You knew all along didn't you Rayner!" yelled Caym punching him again and again as they sunk deeper into the pool of lava. "Are you done yet Caym?" asked Rayner as he punched Caym in the face sending him flying out of the lava. Shooting straight up Rayner passed Caym and spun so fast he turned red from the heat and kicked Caym through the planets core and out the other side. Caym gritted his teeth stopping him self right at the edge of the atmosphere. Focusing all of this power into his hands he fired a discharge of darkness right through the hole he got kicked through. Rayner's eyes shot open and he created a barrier around himself before dodging to the side towards Anaita and Crescence. "He's overflowing. She didn't limit the flow of darkness. It's rushing in to fast!" said Rayner. Walking up to Crescence. "Dear you have to get a hold of yourself. You need to limit him. To much is flowing into him!" he said grabbing her shoulders. "He-he hates me..." she said in a hushed tone. Her eyes were empty. Sighing he walked up to Anaita. "We can't leave him this way. We have to get through to him somehow or he'll destroy many innocent planets. I don't think I went about it the right way...I can keep him still but you have to talk to him. Either that or I'll have to kill him before he does.." he said. Suddenly something hit Rayner and then bounced him around hitting him around like a pinball rapidly. Suddenly Rayner disappeared as well getting ahold of himself. Attemptiong to grab Caym they stopped for a moment before Caym turned and elbowed him across the face and to the ground. Landing near Anaita Rayner got up breathing hard. Pretending to be weak he smiled as Caym walked towards him taking the bait. Lifting a hand he surrounded Caym in a ball of energy that would keep him contained for a while. Caym screamed loud before his started pounding away at the wall with his fists. "This is your chance Anaita make it count." he said as he walked over to Crescence and put his hand on her head trying to bring her back to her senses.

Imagine what the world could be: If everyone cared and nobody cried. Anaita wasn't happy with herself that she won. But looked and Caym and feeling his mind, she knew that he didn't forfeit on purpose. There was no reason for the battle to have been over so quickly when they were made to be equal. When Crescence arrived, the answer was clear. Long ago Crescence set her free after she finished her training, but apparently she still had her hold on Caym. That didn't make sense since Caym was Rayner's pupil, but nothing made that much sense in their world to her. It was as though they were all outsiders looking in on the games the creators played. And now Caym was free? Anaita took one step towards him before she knew Crescence did him a terrible wrong. She could feel the darkness over-running his heart and soul. That hatred and malice would hurt him if it wasn't slowed, but she didn't think she'd be able to step in with the creators there. That was there job right?
"I'm not going anywhere." she said defiantly and with conviction. Caym was her other half and until he was alright, she wouldn't leave. He would do the same for her if the circumstances were switched. Moving to Crescence, she put up a light shield to protect them from the darkness inside Caym. Crescence truly needed it in her condition. It was like setting Caym free shattered her mind. Rayner would be able to take care of her once they reached the castle, but right now he was preoccupied and it was up to Anaita to help her mentor. Placing hands on Crescence's head, she tried to soothe her with light, but it had no affect on the creator. Turning to find Rayner, it was clear Crescence was long gone at the moment and soon Caym would be too. Of all the things the creators had done, this was by far the worse. First using them as pawns for their petty games. Then getting angry over who won. And lastly causing this to Caym. One would think they would think things through a bit more clearly.
"Just find a way to contain him, I'll take care of it." She said as she stood and moved away from Crescence. Rayner did his part marvelously, but now it was her turn. Transporting into the ball of energy, Anaita put up a light shield around that and a lava shield over that. One meant to keep him in and the other meant to keep people from watching what she was about to do. Being connected to his mind, she felt that no words were going to reason with him. Just looking at her made no difference as he hit and clawed at her skin. "I'm really sorry about this." she said as she kissed him. That's right, she kissed him. It was the only way she knew to connect their hearts and minds long enough to let her light pour into him. Pushing as much as she could, she felt the darkness within him slow down its entry. He was still crazy and wild, but at least his heart was slowing down. As time passed, she withdrew her light little by little, letting more darkness fill his heart until eventually she was able to step back away from him.
Hand upon his forehead and cheek, she looked in to his eyes to see if he was alright. "How are you feeling?" Anaita asked softly. She didn't even take notice to the scratches upon her body and her ruined dress, her main focus was Caym. To her, the connection between their minds felt fuzzy and she had no way to garner if she helped him or she signed their death sentences. She really hoped the former, but at the moment there was no way for her know until he spoke. If everyone loved and nobody lied. If everyone shared and swallowed their pride, then we'd see the day when nobody died.

It isn't safe to rest around such a beast...Caym felt a burning in his skin like nothing before. That's all he felt as he watched someone control his body. He felt disconnected from himself, but he didn't care. He didn't care about anything. After all he was just a puppet meant to be controlled as they saw fit. But then he felt something surround him. Something warm. It seemed to lift him up and out of that pain and confusion. As he came too he opened his eyes seeing him and Anaita locked in a kiss. He felt himself gaining more and more self-control. As she stepped back she looked into his eyes making sure he was back to normal. "I am much better. Thank you." he said blushing as the last of that burning left him. "But I hurt you..." he responded looking at her scratches. His mind was still a little bit fuzzy however, and not a lot of things were making sense. "Are you alright?" he asked Anaita still trying to make sense of things.
Rayner was able to bring Crescence back from her broken state after a little while. "What happened?" she asked looking up at Crescence. "I was about to ask you that." responded Rayner. She held her head thinking. "I couldn't control it...There was so much hate." she answered. "This is why we should have released him before hand." he answered. Crescence disagreed. There was no way that someone with that much hate should exist. He had enough malice and hatred to overwhelm even her. The hate seemed to echo from far into the future. She wasn't sure how to explain it to Rayner beside..."Caym is not normal. He is different." she told Rayner. Rayner smiled. "Of course he is. Now he can think for himself and make his own choices." he answered. But that wasn't what Crescence was talking about.
Caym turned to the two of them. "I'm sorry for the trouble I sort of caused." he said smiling. The funny thing was that he knew he was right. It was their fault not his. He was enjoying this new freedom to the fullest, and it was well deserved. "Can we head back now this place is falling apart" said Caym. Rayner nodded as warped them all back to the throne room. "You two are dismissed. I'm going to make sure Crescence gets proper rest." said Rayner. Caym turned and waved not looking at them. Then he waited for Anaita in the hallway. "So what do you think this means now? Are we out of a job?" he asked laughing. ...Just might get bitten.

~ From the day we arrive on the planet and blinking step into the sun, there's more to see than can ever be seen, more to do than can ever be done. There were no words to describe how much relief Anaita felt when Caym returned to his normal state. Blushing slightly at his thanks, she stepped back from him and began to cut her way out of the barriers she created to keep him in place. "Don't worry. Your bark is still worse than your bite." she said without turning around. Her words were meant to ease his conscious, though she had to admit some of the cuts did sting a bit. Plus for a girl of her stature, it was difficult to walk around in tattered clothing. It felt far too inappropriate and uncomfortable for her tastes. Hopefully they'd be able to return home soon so that she may get cleaned up and changed into an intact set of clothing. Once out of the barriers, she looked to her mentor. Rayner seemed to be able to do what she could not: bring Crescence out of her mental break. There was no reason that she could think of that would cause such a reaction of Crescence, but they were far older and more complex than she. Perhaps Crescence merely need a very long and relaxing vacation.
Walking to stand by Rayner and Crescence, she waited patiently as everyone spoke before she could return home. Anasta was probably worried. Anaita was normally in her room resting for her next day's work. Just as the thought crossed her mind, she was standing in the throne room. Sighing, she gave a slight bow and walked out of the room after Caym. Someone wasn't happy but she couldn't blame him. Looking at him, all she could do was shrug. "To be honest, it would be nice to see if the balance could keep itself in check without help. It proves something of the people. But if you don't mind, we can continue this - if you want - in my room so I can change..." she said as she motioned down towards her tattered clothing. Turning on a heel, she called out to Anasta who came zooming down the hallway not too long after. "Where have you been! I've been worried sick! And what happened to your pretty dress?!" the aide yelled as she moved around Anaita very quickly. Oh the little helper was quite the overconfident and hyperactive girl, one that was quite different than who she helped. But Anaita adored Anasta dearly.
"I'm fine. Just prepare my healing balm for me please." she said as she continued her walk, not even paying attention to whether or not Caym was following her. He might feel uncomfortable going to her quarters, especially if she was going to change. Instead, he might join Chitiro and get some rest himself before they find out what their duties are now supposed to be. Stepping into her room, she grabbed a new dress from her wardrobe and moved behind a screen for some privacy. There she cleaned up and put on her healing balm before changing into an exact replica of her dress. "Feeling better?" Anasta asked as Anaita stepped out from behind her screen. "Much better, thank you very much." she said as she took a comb and began to comb out her beautiful gold hair. There's far too much to take in here, more to find than can ever be found. But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky keeps great and small on the endless round. ~
