A number of you already know of Puppet, my newest creation. For the most part I have everything down for it, except for one thing.
What Puppet does to get a new ID.
Say, for example, Puppet wants a Raven 'ID'. How would it go about getting it? Scans? Seems a little lackluster and too easy. Fight them enough? Too much of a "Learning Robot" in my opinion, something I DIDN'T want to achieve.
I had an idea about Puppet getting someone's signature, in like a book or something, but I don't really know.
So, any ideas?

Have the creator pay people to demonstrate their abilities in a controlled testing environment and then input the data into the robot.
Either that or kidnap people and drug them so they think they're in the dome when they're actually in a controlled testing environment.
Or commission Alex to do the data gathering. =P
So for the second idea when ever you post after someone as puppet and win you have it drag them back to be drugged and set up for the testing or whatnot.

Well it already records data......
Actually, I could probably do it in a quirky not set way, give a little bit of humor to an otherwise rigid character. But still, any other ideas besides drugging people?

DNA recreation? Or something along that line?
Like Brian said, After the battle you'd take a sample or something.

You could take the boring and mundane route and just video tape every fight and then replicate the results on the tapes.
But seriously if you already have a data recorder in the bot what else do you need?
You just wait till the bot gets home have the programmer go over the data and then make the necessary changes to the robot.

Was trying for more of a trigger sort of thing, but I think scans and data are probably the best way to go.

Oh.
xD
Thought you didn't want a learning robot though?
Having it do it automatically once a trigger happens would probably constitute a learning robot.

Perhaps if a character beats Puppet a certain number of times, Puppet will register it as a "worthy specimen" and set about to copy the 'domer?
HOW it copies, could be any number of ways... maybe it needs to collect DNA, such as a strand of hair like Brian and Visher said. Or, it could simply shift into a sort of "copy mode" and the next battle is spent gathering the remaining data needed to accurately copy the individual?

Brian_The_Elementalist Oh.

Having it do it automatically once a trigger happens would probably constitute a learning robot. Which is why I'm thinking the data and scans is the best way to go.
