Water
Earth
Fire
Air
Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But the last Avatar, a young airbender of the Eastern Air Temple lost his life in the attempted genocide of the all airbenders by the Fire Nation.
The next new avatar is said to be a waterbender according to the Avatar cycle, but the tribes have yet to put forward any information of a possible Avatar out of fear that the Fire Nation will turn it's attentions towards them. The Fire Nation, believing all Air Nomads were killed in the genocide and the Avatar cycle broken, have mostly ignored the Water Tribes in favor of waging all out war against the Earth Kingdom.
The remaining few airbenders have fled, taking refuge wherever will accept them, never staying in one place for any longer than they have to before moving on, never allowing any sign of their presence to be left behind, lest the Fire Nation become aware of their survival.
The Earth Kingdom remains the Fire Nations most formidable opponent, never giving any more ground than the Fire Nation can wrest from them, but even the great Earth Kingdom finds itself faltering under the onslaught of the Fire Nation's relentless attack.
Some claim it is the end of days, others believe it to be just another chapter in history. Without an Avatar to balance the scales, there seems to be no hope for the four nations.
This is where the world finds itself. Will an Avatar rise to bring peace to the world? Will the Fire Nation conquer? Or will the world tear itself apart under the strain of a war the likes of which history has never seen? This is that story, and we are it's actors. It is time for curtain call. The stage is set, a battlefield, victory or death.
Action.
