Does the exclusion of gay people in your religion cause you to stray away from your god and religion?
Yes.

No. I practice my religion whether the people in it want me to.

I have no opinion whatsoever because I was never really religious in the first place.

I was at the bus stop yesterday speaking to these two women about politics. The conversation somehow turned to God and gays. One of the women said that she believed that gays and lesbians are posessed by a demon (yes, this is what she said and my jaw fell open too) and that the demon can only be released if gays and lesbians found God. I wanted to say something so badly but I thought Better not. Last thing I need is to get beat up by a mom, and a woman who's going to Price Rite for salt-free bacon before I go to my job interview. She started talking about how disgusting a sin homosexuality was and that she would never want to rot in hell for eternity. But I know people who are from the LGBT community and are very religious, but I also know people who have turned away from their religion because of that feeling of exclusion from the people around them that share the same religion.
Do you say anything when people openly bash people from the LGBT community? And when you don't, do you fell slightly guilty (yes, I do feel slightly guilty)?
Are you religious or not? And when someone is religious and bashing the LGBT community do you become turned off from your god?
I'm not religious, because I feel no connection whatsoever to God. But being that I'm not very religious and I'm also told that people who are gay can't come to church it makes me irritated and even makes me feel like turning away from the church completely.

I'm not very religious in the sense that I don't go to church and I'm not constantly praying but I do very much believe in God. I always have believed in God even though people of the same religion think that I'm commiting some great and horrible sin just for loving a person of the same sex. I'm not gonna let someone's belief and/or opinion make me feel like I'm not good enough and that I have to somehow change myself to please them. God made you and I the way we are, there is no need to change that just because a group of willfully blind ignorant people can't open their eyes and see the truth. I believe God loves us all, whether you believe in God or not, and whether you're homosexual or heterosexual does not matter a bit. I understand where you're coming from though about kinda being turned away from religion because of the people associated with it. I'd be lying if I haven't felt that at some point or another, but at the end of the day you just have to rejoice in the fact that there is nothing wrong with loving another human being, same sex or not. heart P.s. I hope you got that job by the way, lol.

I'm not part of Christianity or any other monotheistic religion anymore. I used to be but I changed my beliefs but not because of the bashing of the LGBT community. However, I get pretty pissed off when somebody's insulting gay people.
Here, where I live, it isn't as bad as in other countries but there are still people who look down on the LGBT community, especially very religious people.
I'm always getting into conflicts because of this. Their arguments sound poor to me. Why should they hate homosexual people when their god created them this way?
Nothing's wrong with it because you can't choose who you love.

I personally am a Diest so my religion has no problems with it but I have many friends and know many people deeply rooted in religion. I know the Morman religion accepts homosexuality outside of their own religion and they are well on the way to accepting it altogether. I know many deviations of the Catholic and Christian religions are well on their way to accepting it. The one branch that seems to be completely against it (as in their "pyramid of sin" puts homosexuality right next to murder on the top rung) is the Presbeterian Church which is the church of more conservative beliefs in America. However, this church is run and operated by the older generation of Americans and often times the children of these religious extremists are completely against their parents beliefs on things such as homosexuality. So within the next 30 years or so I think the beliefs involving homosexuality will be much more accepting in America. We just have to wait for the younger generation of American's to take over before we see any major changes in religious beliefs.

I usually just ignore gay bashers, but if they are bothering someone who doesn't want to be bothered I do try to intercede and discourage them from bashing. I would feel guilty if I didn't.
I am agnostic, so no, not religious. A religious persons behavior doesn't change my opinion of the religion they are in, or my opinion of God. People don't always follow their religion correctly.

Whatever deity is up there, it is not asking for my obedience but for my faith. What do you wish for when you want to have a spiritual path? To believe or to be told what to do?
