Just had an idea while thinking up stuff for my event.
What if we made a thread for a Battledome RPG thing?
I can't really think of a good way to make it single roll battles other than for every level you have you do +1 to your roll.
Though that could work.
So have everyone start at level 0. And to get to level 1 you have to win 5 times. To level 2 you have to win 10 more times. Level 3 15 more times. Level 4 20 more times.
So instead of an exponential leveling requirements its just add 5 more each time.
I suppose we could add a win modifier if you go up against a higher level and win but I that would probably start involving fractions...
Oh and it would be a guild thread. And I suppose we could restart the whole thing if someone gets to the point where they can't be stopped.

But RPG implies a story. Would we make this a big RP or something? Or would the stats roll over through all our battles? What about unique abilities?

Well to get unique abilities in it would probably work best in a more event styled thing. This was basically just a battledome that gave people who stuck with it an advantage over new people.
Now I would like the idea of a series of events going on with stat gains and the like but that would require more effort.

Both would be awesome.
Though if we do the events one we should probably have every character involved start at the same level of power but story wise and mechanics wise.
I had a vague idea of a bunch of domers being kidnapped and power wiped. Maybe mind wiped as well. Or perhaps depowered clones. And when they beat the campaign they could meetup with the originals. I figured they would be able to grow in different ways. So a character who used to be all magic focused might end up with a clone that beats things to death with its fists.
As for the leveling Battledome I think it would be something like this.
Level 0: 0 wins Level 1: 5 wins +1 to rolls Level 2: 15 wins +2 to rolls Level 3: 30 wins +3 to rolls Level 4: 50 wins +4 to rolls Level 5: 75 wins +5 to rolls Level 6: 105 wins +6 to rolls Level 7: 140 wins +7 to rolls Level 8: 180 wins +8 to rolls Level 9: 225 wins +9 to rolls Level 10: 275 wins +10 to rolls
That's total wins. The counter doesn't reset when you level up. But now that I'm looking at it I think it might just take to long to get past some of those levels.
Maybe I'll make it five wins per level up to level five. Then ten wins per level up to level ten. Then fifteen wins per level up to level fifteen and so on and so forth.

They get to fight the originals! Lich King Discord vs Holy Avenger Discord! Blue jeaned Bonnie vs Yellow jeaned Bonnie! and I leave the mathcrafting to you. I'm merely a theorycrafter.

b***h please. I'm an omnicrafter. =P
And yeah the fighting the originals was something that I had in mind as well.
Hmmm....
I suppose there could be a prize for the first person to reach a level in the battledome proper.
Maybe the first person to get to lvl 30 will get a reward. I probably won't put an actual cap on the levels since the requirements will get higher as time goes by and as long as people stick with it no one should get so far ahead as to be unbeatable.
As for the RPG proper... I'm thinking start everyone off with level 1 at identical stats.
Have the clones pick a weapon or something for their first "class" and have that give them their first ability. Be it damage bonus, a damage reduction, healing, or what not.
Not sure what to put the numbers at yet though...
Probably going to start everyone with 100 HP or so and make it so we're only rolling D20's or something at first...
Huh. I keep thinking of this as like DnD battledome style. But I don't have any DnD books and I've never played it before.

My comment was that I could only theorycraft, not math craft.
and I've never played DnD either.

No. I caught what you meant. I'm just saying I won't be constrained to mathcrafting.
Cause I'm gonna furycraft your face off. =P

Hence the use of crow.

I'd love to go down the path of Weapons Master again..
It's not just the knowledge of the Weapon you gain.. It's how you learn to use the weapon, Any weapon, in New and unusual ways. Like this Shield of mine, A wall, A lance. The crescent blade? A be-header Hook and an Ax, A hand Scythe and Sword.
Of course Advanced weaponry style's like that would be only in the Late levels as a Master. I could even add Armor pieces as I grow and Modifications.
