One memorable scene in a movie is from A League of Their Own. When the mail man came up into the room to deliver a notice of the death of a husband/soldier. He misplaces the name of the person it should be delivered to but The coach played by Tom Hanks just rips it out of the mail man's hand and reads it. After reading it, he figures out who the notice belongs to and proceeds to the lady that owns the notice. he passes a couple ladies, most of the ladies on the baseball team
have husbands serving as soldiers so it could be any of them... as he nears "Dotty" played by Gina Davis... she falls to her seat and thinks that it is her husband that has died. But instead was her team mate that was standing next to her "Betty Speghetti". She then collapses and sends out cries which only makes the scene much more sad... but very powerful..

Edward Scissorhands

When I first saw this I was maybe six or seven. The last scene of this movie where the Kim, who is now a grandmother finishes telling her grandaughter her story of Edward.

"She never saw him again. Not after that night." (grandma)
"How do you know?." (little girl)
"Because I was there.." (grandma takes off her glasses, it is Kim older)
"You could have gone up there! You still could go!" (little girl)
"No sweetheart. I'm an old woman now. I would rather he remembers me the way I was. (grandma)
"How do you know he's still alive?" (little girl)
"I don't know. Not for sure. But I believe he is. You see, before he came down here, it never snowed. And afterwards, it did. If he weren't up there now, I don't think it would be snowing. Sometimes you can still catch me dancing in it." (grandma)

As a kid, I wondered why the heck didn't she visit him. But now I guess sometimes it's just best to leave it as a memory.

There's this scene in this Filipino movie I saw once (forgot the title) about this guy who was "involved" with these two women; think "love triangle".

Lady 1 loved him, but he loved Lady 2, and Lady 2 loved someone else at first, but then fell in love with him.

The ending scene is where he has to decide who to choose, his true love (Lady 2) or his betrothed (Lady 1) whom he had gotten pregnant. Eventually, honor and responsibility forced him to marry Lady 1.

He says goodbye to Lady 2, such pain in his eyes, and walks away. Lady 2 stares after him, tears running down her face.

This ultimately illustrates the sacrifices one must sometimes make in life and love; not everyone gets a second chance and not all movies end in "happily ever after"...
