Roch checked his hair one more time in the mirror, making sure it wasn't going to be ruined any time soon, then grabbed the long black trench coat off of the back of his papasan chair/bed. He slipped the coat on, grabbed his mask, and headed for the door, digging out the note from the blind date place. He was going to have to go to the horsemen lands... that was gonna be a pain, he thought as he stepped out of his room.
He turned, closing the door behind him and locking it.

No sooner had Roch approached the wide entrance to the Reaper dorm, a massive black shadow suddenly dropped onto the path ahead of him, as though waiting for him.
"YOU ARE THE ONE CALLED ROCHESTER?" A female voice suddenly announced from behind a bird-like, feathered mask. As the figure straightened, wings fluttered, folding at her hips over a squirming, whimpering fur dress.

Roch jerked back a bit, not gonna lie. He stared blankly at the female in front of him, automatically reaching for his wallet--what? He'd been mugged plenty of times--when he realized she had asked him his name. And she had wings.
"Ohhhh, WAR horseman," Roch said, it finally clicking in his mind what type of horseman he was going to prom with. "Yeah, you can call me Roch," he said. "Are you Bacca--Baccabollo?" he asked.

"It is pronounced Bacca-BOYO." The feathered mask turned in a jerking, bird-like motion as she stalked in closer.
There was a muffled yelp from her layers of furry, feathered skirts, lashed together with twine. "And tonight you will call me Madam OVERLORD, do you understand, male?"

He stared at her blankly. "In public?" he finally asked. "I mean, sure, in private, if it makes you happy, but seriously, gonna get some straaange looks if I call you that in public. I mean, especially since this is the first time we've met. Got any other nicknames? Like, I dunno... Queen Whipmaster or somethin?"
He was horrible, and he knew it, but hell, this was just ASKING for it.

A knife was suddenly drawn from the low back of her make-shift dress, barely-bottled breasts bouncing as she stepped up face-to-face with the reaper. Golden eyes behind the mask narrowed, "Such insolence from a male! Do not fret, creature, you will know your place by the end of the evening. It will be marvelous. Now WHERE IS MY FLOWER?"

"Wow, movin' sort of fast, aren't we?" Roch said, looking at the blade. "Oh! Right, the flower," he said, opening up his trench coat and digging through the pockets. He pulled out a clear plastic box that had a black and red corsage in it. "Gramps made me get this... it's yours, right?" he said, opening the box and holding it up for her. "It goes on your wrist," he told her. "Which is probably good, cuz if we had to pin it I might wind up killin' your dress."

Bacca glowered through her mask down at the offering, appraising it for worth. "It will do, I suppose." She had researched (briefly, by cornered student and knife-point) the finer subtleties of prom and all important factors for it's proper execution. Corsage was an important stage. It set the tone for the evening, an offering from the male to the female to attempt to appease her wrath and put her in good spirits.
It could have used more colors.
"YOU WILL PUT IT ON MY WRIST!" She demanded, straightening up with shoulders squared and arm extended. Her talons had been cleaned, but still stained a faint red.
She was being lady like. Her sister would be proud.

"I'll be honest," Roch said, "had I known you were from War I'd probably have picked somethin' brighter." He slid the bracelet over the blood stained fingers, not saying a word about them, then left it around her wrist.
"There we go, Madam Undertaker!" he said cheerfully. "You ready for the party? I'm hopin' they got a spread like they did last one, there were TABLES covered in food," he told her, offering his arm as he'd been told to by Vegas. "The meatballs got the best airtime, though."

Bacca's eyes flashed gold behind her mask, the hand without the flowers suddenly arching to slap him sharply across the face. "It is OVERLORD. My sister is the Death Bringer." She hissed as though he had served a great disrespect. "You will speak when spoken to, and eat when told." She snarled sharply, hefting up her still squirming and whimpering skirts to whisk around, ready to march towards the gala. Almost immediately, her voice shifted, softening with a touch of girlish delight, "This will be fun, yes. It was a good idea to come socialize with the cretins."

Roch reached up, rubbing his cheek and watching her with a dark, rather dangerous expression. Then it cleared and he shrugged it off. Who gave a jack, he figured. If anything he could hoist her off on someone and skip out early. Wouldn't be the first time he'd skipped one of these jackin' things.
But note to self, don't sign up for blind ANYTHING. Who knew what you'd get stuck with?
