Well Format is what i'm here to talk about, as well as a few tips I've discovered.

#1) Talk in 3rd person.

"Silvo walked into the room"

Don't say "I Walked into the room"

sayin "He walked into the room" is acceptable as well, however you must have first identified who 'he' is my specifying"Silvo" at an earlier point of time.

Bad

He walked into the room, tired, He then sat on the couch and read

Good

Silvo Walked into the room, tired, He then sat on the couch and read

The Second is the best way to do it.

#2) Their are three area of rping, the internal voice, the actual voice, and the third person dialog.

Its best for the internal voice, you thinking to yourself to use single quotes.

'I LOVE DRAGONBALL' << single quotes ""

when talking out loud to someone you can use double quotes.

"I LOVE DRAONBALL" << double quotes ""

If you want these to stand out you can bold them by placeing [b.] at the begining and [/b.] at the end (Remove the periods)

Personally i bold my talking voice, and italisize my internal voice [i.][/i.] (without the . )

So for internal my voice would be 'I LOVE DRAONBALL' and my external would be "I LOVE DRAGONBALL"

When doing 3rd person dialog you can keep your text normal, since it will be most of the talking, however if your playing 2 characters on one account you might want to play them in different colors.

Example A below is without bolding/italics
Example A

Silvo Walked into the room, tired, He then sat on the couch and read. The book was a non-fiction he had wanted to learn more about the human body 'wait theirs a mini pinecone inside my head?' Silvo thought to himself, "Pineal gland, sounds dirty..." he said as he turned the page.

Example B below is WITH bolding/italics
Example B

Silvo Walked into the room, tired, He then sat on the couch and read. The book was a non-fiction he had wanted to learn more about the human body 'wait theirs a mini pinecone inside my head?' Silvo thought to himself, "Pineal gland, sounds dirty..." he said as he turned the page.

If you want you can highlight over the area and press the [b.] and [i.] buttons above to bold or italisize an area.

Remember, even if you do use '' and "" it might also be nice to put "Thought" or "Said" after just to make sure people understand, plus it makes your post look bigger!

#3) Additional Formatting!

So your looking at me thinking i'm an idiot right? Well some people don't like bold and italics in their text, though i LOVE it, some people color their talking moments, and though moments, for my main character i do all of them!

Personally i like Reds word external words, and Blues for internal thought. Regardless this is how you color. Their is a scrollbox up above that has a color, highlight an area and put the text you want between the two [][/] boxes, this goes for bolding and italics as well. the [] box is the start of the effect and the [/] box is the end of the effect. its how UBBC code works, screw around with it a little in the forum below if your not used to it.

this will make your text red
Text[/color.] (without the periods)
Text

blue..
Text[/color.] (without the periods)
Text

green..
Text[/color.] (without the periods)
Text

etc..

Note: when using [][/] make sure their is always a corresponding[/] for every started [] or else it wont work.

#4) Elaboration.

Your getting annoyed at how small your posts seem to look, that their only one or two lines? well this is where it gets good.

Lets put out a small scenario. Silvo walks into his office and says "wow that was a boring day"

A Very basic point, just a small part of a larger post.

Basic

Silvo walked into his office "wow that was a boring day"

Adding the colors to make it all the more shinny and readable.

Proper formatting

Silvo walked into his office "wow that was a boring day"

Add onto the basics, facial expressions, movements, voice tones, volumes, imply objects if you know their location.

Expanding on basic things

Silvo walked calmly into his office "wow that was a boring day" Silvo spoke aloud to the empty room

Expanding on the smallest little details that you wouldn't even think were nessisary, and could be easily overlooked, describe your character's face, the way they walk their hair color, elaborating the text a slight bit with bigger words if you can think of them.

Seemingly Pointless Expansion

Silvo walked calmly into his office, through the doorway he took a moment during his walk and spoke aloud "wow that was a boring day" the room was empty and no one was their to hear him.

Showing more detail into just the small movement, in the 3rd person describe where you just came from, why you came to this location, how you got here, what events took place prior to the arrival.

Looking back over the day

Silvo walked calmly into his office, he had been out much of the day walking around the city readying up on the human body. As he walked through the doorway, he left the door open for now taking a moment during this walk he spoke aloud to the empty room"wow that was a boring day"

Through a bit of character overlay, a few thoughts such as a reasoning towards the action, maybe some background on the character's real personality, something to make the post larger if what you originally had was too small.

Implementing thoughts

Silvo walked calmly into his office, he had been out much of the day walking around the city readying up on the human body. As he walked through the doorway, he left the door open for now taking a moment during this walk he spoke aloud to the empty room"wow that was a boring day" why did he say this? maybe he spoke out hoping that someone would answer him, keep him company, Silvo had lead a lonely life, and to have someone to hold would be nothing more than heaven to him... though already being dead what more was heaven then he already had...

Now you're not expected to do the last version for a simple motion, unless that simple motion was your entire post.

Its nice to have 2-4 lines minimum (not sentences, lines as in lengths of the text box.

#5) Pictures, Graphic Descriptions.

Often people will add a picture of their character, or something along those lines so they don't need to describe the character all the time.

If you want to talk outside of character put (()) or () or [[]] or [] in a separate area completely away from the text. try not to have conversations in these, their for asking for more description or to apologize for something, or to inform others of something.

Hopefully this has helped you understand what we're looking for people to Rp as, or if you're looking at this before joining, gives you an idea of what kind of Rollplaying Sample to send us.

Good luck, have fun. and don't Godmode

Extra Hint:

When you leave from one area to another put underneath the paragraph that you have left to a different location, otherwise you appear to be in two places at once and thats not allowed. Make it clear you left. putting [[Gone to Office]] underneath is a kindness and saves the person from reading your entire paragraph.

Bonus Extra Hint: Quote the person you're talking with under your post so it sends them a notification that you responded.
