ESSENTIALS
  • Name: Trenton Brightsong
  • Nickname: "Hey you with the lute!", "Songbird!", Trent
  • Age: 22
  • Social Class: Artisan
  • Occupation: Minstrel/Bard

APPEARANCE
Trenton is roughly 5'7", with a slight build. He has strawberry blonde hair and light blue eyes. He is very light on his feet and stronger than he appears. He has a slightly roguish look to his face, having a scar just under his right eye across the cheek bone. His nose is hawk like, and has some creasing around the mouth and eyes from smiling. He still has all his teeth. Trenton keeps his hair tied back and loose it would reach just past his shoulders. He has longer bangs he keeps brushed to the side. He's right handed.
He has a warm sounding voice, a deep tenor, and while he is a serviceable singer, he would never be called upon to play for nobles, instead finding work in pubs, restaurants, and brothels. He does find other work though as a storyteller, people finding his voice easy on the ears, and often accompanies himself on the lute when he does so.
He has very long delicate looking hands, and as they are his primary source of income he is very protective of them. All of his fingers have calluses on the end of them, and there is a scar on his left palm from the time a string broke during a more energetic song and cut his palm open.
His clothing is of moderate to good quality. His usual wear for tavern work is a little patched and worn but clean and well kept. He does keep one good set of clothing for higher paying engagements, and keeps that set immaculate. His normal wear is fur lined boots coming just up to mid calf, brown woolen britches, a loose wool over shirt and leather fur lined vest. He has a blue hat, and blue dyed heavy cloak that he rubs with wax to make it as waterproof as possible. His good set of clothes are blue and a silvery gray with black fur trim. He paid very dearly for them.
He keeps a knife in his boot at all times.

PERSONALITY
He was orphaned as a young child, and spent a few years on the streets running with a group of children, stealing what they could to survive. He targeted an older man one afternoon in he marketplace and was caught by him. The man sized up young Trenton and decided that he was to "bright" (meaning his hair color) to be a thief and instead took the boy to his home. The man turned out to be a retired court singer, and taught Trenton his craft after finding the boy had a serviceable voice and a talent for learning instruments. Trenton is forever grateful that his life took this turn instead of something far worse.
Trenton is respectful to his employers, and surprisingly to the women whom they employ, no matter what their "profession." This has marked him as a favorite of the girls, and he doesn't lack for offers of company, which he doesn't often accept. While not gay, he has a distinct disinterest in women. He's friendly to those he knows, but is otherwise reserved, not enough to be standoffish but keeping people at a casual distance until he knows them better. He doesn't make close friends easily, but those he does he holds in high regard and would do nearly anything they asked of him.
Trenton knows he'll never be the greatest at his profession, but he accepts that and works hard anyway to stay in top condition, learning new songs and stories whenever he can. He doesn't dream of fame, but instead would settle for a comfortable patronage for some minor noble.
His greatest fear is that something will happen to his hands and he won't be able to play anymore, and he doesn't believe that he'd be able to make a living with just his voice. Which leads to his second fear of losing his voice permanently.
Trenton is most comfortable just sitting and playing his lute. He's not a fighter by nature, but will do what's necessary to help those that need it.
His last name is of his own devising, not knowing what his parent's surname was.

ABILITIES
Talented Musician: Can play lute, pipes, and drums.
Vocal Talents: Serviceable
Good Memory for Songs and Stories
Some skill at pick pocketing, but can't pick locks or anything complicated.
Can fight with a knife and barehanded when necessary.

HOBBIES
Unrelated to his profession, Trenton can sew a little, enough to keep his clothing patched. He also likes to read as the old man taught him how to do so.

TOUCHED APPEARANCE
Trenton's eyes now glow slightly. There is blue scroll work around his neck and it flares around the front of this throat where his windpipe is. There are also matching scroll work on the back of his hands with "rays" going from it to his fingertips. His power would only be accessed when he's playing and talking/singing, not just talking or just playing.

MAGIC
Level One - Makes him able to conjure static images in people's heads of what ever ballad he's singing or story he's telling. Like looking at Illuminated pictures in medieval books or tapestries.
Level Two - Visions become fuller, characters actually taking motion as the story progresses, would be like watching an old silent film.

Looks good! Be sure if he becomes 'touched' that he invests in a scarf and gloves! Else he'd find himself with no one to sing to at all, art as the least of his worries! - here, and once you have, make a post here to get added to the Owners List!
