Greetings my fellow comrades.
The other day I had a horrible problem, the infamous writer's block. Now, I ignore how often this happens to you or if you actually had it, but I thought it might be useful to place what I usually do to counter it.
Wether it happens to myself or a friend I'm Rping with, the writer's block always finds a way to cripple the Role's motion for a while, sometimes days which is discouraging to a point. Now I don't want this to happen to my fellow guild members right? so here I've elaborated a template in which you might find a way to deal with this annoying issue.
The template consists mainly 4 paragraphs, 5 at max.
(it also helps when a newbie is interacting with an experienced member or a literate one)
000001.- introduction (when you get into an area/ when a person is having writters block to build a scenario)
000002 .- Motion of the character (you can dance around, play with the scenario, preparing or receiving an action)
000003.- Intentions of the character (Reasons, emotional state, descrive te inner feelings, turmoils, doubs of your character
00000000 bla bla)
000004. - Action of the character (what one liners or not lit people really want to know, which would be very similar to a
00000000usual post)
000005. - Resolution of the action (extra, could be in 4 but just in case you want to throw little details to lead your partner
00000000 so they wont loose the track of the situation.)
So people already rping with each other know the paragraphs. But a person who wants to join only needs to see the following paragraphs:
000001.- To know where they are.
000003.- The situation of the characters (optional)
000004.- Which is what their characters would actually see. If there's a 5th paragraph it's not completely necessary to read it,
00000000then again it wouldn't do any harm to do so either.
So instead of reading 5 paragraphs you only need to read from 2 - 3 paragraphs (being the one's listed above) to get the idea of what's going on, the extras are focused more on the people already rping but you are welcome to read them.
Now one liners and non lits (semi-lits) are encouraged through this template to at least write as well 2 - 3 paragraphs at best.
Now, by saying this I don't expect anyone to pull out a novel something like that. But following the template instructions, they could resume it all in a single but well structured paragraph -w-
