It begins..... Much of the planet has turned to ruins. Civilization is hard to come by and humans are now close to extinction. Much of what roams around the planet consists of demons, vampires, werewolves and much more. Deep within a forest near a wide river a rocky cave is hidden behind a big forest tree. Its trunk and branches help hide the entrance and only those who life within know exactly where it is. The issue is what's within? A group of survivors that needed to find shelter. A variety of races are attempting to live together in this hidden area so they are not alone but most of all so they can come together to find food, water and destroy the many evils that surround the world now. What evil? Well no one has seen this evil but its been killing off what few survivors are left. Deer, elk...bears they are all hard to come by but how will this being be stop and most of all what is it?

Matthew sat at the edge of the river. His black tail flickering now and then as he watched the water flow. He wondered why life was so difficult but most of all he wondered why he couldn't find a survivor or a friend. All he wanted was some company for he was just growing weary of being alone

Liara was running deeper into the forest. Something was chasing her. She could sense it but couldn't see it. For some reason it had picked up on her scent or presence and was after her. She heard the sound of running water and bolted for it. Her mouth dry from exhaustion as her hair blew in the wind. She preferred her human form a lot of the time but was never against being a wolf. She had just found it easier to communicate with people as she was now.
Awhile longer Liara finally reached the river. She knelt down after glancing behind her. She had lost whatever it was so now she cupped her hands and began drinking the cool refreshing clean water from the river. It was almost like it had its own natural filter. As she liked her lips when she finished drinking her eyes moved to a black wolf sitting on the edge of the river. She couldn't believe she hadn't noticed him before. His tail was flickering and in a way it seemed as lonely as she was...

Matthew had picked up on the scent of another werewolf. He remained still in his spot though but when he saw her come into view he was surprised to see her in her human form. He watched her carefully from a distance wondering why she seemed so out of breath.
A few seconds later he stood up as she looked at him. He wondered why she had even found herself way out here but either was he was excited to see another being. Matthew jumped into the water and swam across the river on the other side where the girl was kneeling. He walked out of the water onto land and shook off then he sat a few feet away form her.
You seemed as shocked to see me as I am you. He spoke using his mind which was a common ability werewolves had. He watched her carefully in case she turned out to be an enemy verses and ally. You could never be too careful now a days. After all the forest and everything had a tendency to play tricks on you.

Liara took a few steps back when the wolf came across to the side of the river she was on. She wasn't surprised when he spoke to her though. After all it was normal for wolves to share that connection. "I...." She spoke softly and hesitantly making sure to glance behind her. it was obvious that he wasn't the one who had been chasing her but she wondered if he had sensed whatever it was as well. "I was running from something." She spoke quietly almost like she was too shy to get her words out. "You are like me?" She wasn't a hundred percent sure because she hadn't been around many wolves during her life but she had a feeling that he wasn't a plain old wolf.

Matthew nodded his head slowly but only once. He could tell how hesitant she was to be here and he didn't want to scare her off. He had been so lonely he really just wanted company even if she didn't talk much. He flicked his tail again then listened to his stomach softly growl. He was defiantly hungry and he wondered if she was.
could I interest you in a little food? I don't have much but I'd be willing to share.... He took a pause then figured he'd be better off explaining himself I could really use the company. My name is Matthew but you can call me Matt

Liara glanced behind her again then back at the large black wolf that stood before her. She was hungry and hadn't eaten much so she was glad he offered but she knew she still needed to keep her guard up now a days. "I'd very much enjoy a little food..." She knew food was hard to come by too so she didn't have much of a choice to turn down a meal.

Then follow me Matthew turned around and started leading the way back to his little cave area. He was flicking his tail with excitement about having the extra company today. There was such thing as lone wolves but a being could only be lonely so long. Matthew had been alone too long.
He went deeper into the forest but it didn't take long to come to the large tree. He led the way into the cave and ran off ahead.
When he was far enough ahead he changed over to his human form and put clothes on. By then he was sure his company was deeper in the cave so he went over to the fire pit and waited for her "Would you like it rare, medium? It's rabbit meat." He spoke carefully so he wouldn't startle her with the sudden change.

She had followed and when Matthew had ran off she stood still which by this time was near the fire pit. She looked around the dark cave and was surprised to see it was a little more homey then expected and she wondered how long Matthew had been staying here.....alone.
Being alone was something Liara was very good at. Since she had been alone since she was young she was use to it and it never occurred to her what it was like to have someone help her during these hard times. She wondered how Matthew felt about being alone and was curious to find out if it was by choice or if he was in a similar situation.
She was caught off guard as he came back into view in his human form. A slight red occurred on her cheeks but she let her thoughts slide away as he asked his question. "I wouldn't mind it cooked a little....if that's not too much trouble. Medium rare..." She still loved the juices but rabbit meat was hard for her to get past anyway so she felt it would be better to cook it. Her favorite food was bear meat, if only there were more around.

Matthew smiled then began starting the fire. It was easy for him seeing how he was use to cooking fish. He didn't enjoy having raw fish even in his wolf form. For some reason the taste never appealed to him but to survive you have to do what you have to do.
Once the fire was started he took the meat from the rabbits and began to cook it with a stick and everything. It didn't take too long to get them finished up and once they were cool he handed the young woman the rabbit on a stick. "i know it's not much but you must know how it is now a days."
He began eating his food slowly "Why don't you tell me a little about yourself if you don't mind."

Liara glanced down at the rabbit meat and took small bites. Her stomach hurt so bad due to how hungry she was but she knew if she ate quickly it would make it worse. "My name is Liara. I travel a lot and never stay in the same place too long...." She trailed off as she looked behind her out of the cave "I've never had a family or any real friends....not much to say." She took a few more bites and let the silence settle in. She was usually quite and wasn't very familiar how to deal with people being nice to her.

Matthew watched Liara calmly as he listened. He wondered what had changed the world so much to create this kind of conflict. Loneliness......Matthew finished his rabbit meat and watched Liara eat her's slowly.
"You're more then welcome to stay here as long as you'd like Liara. I've missed being in a pack so I could use the company myself and I wouldn't mind an extra set of eyes."

Liara finished her rabbit and settled down. Stay? She wondered why he was being so calm, and collective and nice. "I am not sure..." She always seem to speak hesitantly and quietly but she didn't know. What would it be like to feel wanted and wake up to having a friend every morning. "Can I decided later?"
