Make Teh Toaster bigger and better!
Donate a little bit of gold to the guild once in awhile, it will help us to buy subforums. Subforums cost 2,500g each, and the money from the guild account is the only money that can be used for this. It is simple to donate! Just go to the homepage of Teh Toaster, and you will see something like this.

Just enter the amount of gold, and your password {note: we will not get your password from this! All it is is Gaia's way of making sure that someone else isn't on your account donating to the guild.} And Viola! You've helped Teh Toaster! Even just a little bit of gold will help out, it all adds up.
Why should you care about subforums?
It will get all those pesky Bumping threads out, first of all. The first subforum will be "Spam" and that will be the only place where pure bumping and such will be allowed. Then a Questing subforum so you won't need to worry about seeing those threads all over the front page, and a Roleplaying subforum to make it easy to find a roleplay. Those are the most important subforums to come.
Why is there an entry fee?
The entry fee will go into the guild account - it's just another way to make sure that Teh Toaster will get subforums soon.
Is there anything else that the guild account gold can do?
Not currently, but soon there will be. We don't know what yet, but other features will become avaliable to guilds who can pay for them.
You know, the guild account cannot be accessed by any user. The gold cannot be given to anyone. The only current function of the gold in the guild account is to buy subforums. (Although, we have heard it will have other functions in the future. We've also heard about the future Guild Halls in Towns; perhaps this gold can be used for that.)
