Hey y'all. This is your Captain speaking.
The name that I am most comfortable with online and Gaia is my username, Sypon. Fun fact: The origins of Sypon date back to my days on Neopets roughly ten years ago, and I've grown extremely fond of the name! Variants that I've heard include "Sy" and "Spoon"; I don't mind most nicknames.
Aside from the technological world, I love acting, improvisation, live action roleplaying and going to the zoo. I was split between going into theatre or art, career-wise, and ended up at DigiPen Institute of Technology, where I'm pursuing a degree in Digital Art and Animation in hopes of working on films or video games (which I also love).
That being said, art and gaming are two more of my (clearly prominent) interests! I love making and looking at artwork, and am currently enjoying both digital and traditional media at school. I would love to play more video games, but I typically don't have time or resources to do so. However, I do enjoy playing Pokemon and N64 classics (Mario, Zelda, Banjo Kazooie, all of that jazz!), and wish that I was more up to date with the current console titles for the 3DS, XBox360 and Wii specifically. I also used to play World of Warcraft (for the Horde!), but have since not had time.
Hmm... Other fandoms. I am a fan of Homestuck, which Cylem finally pushed me headfirst into! Again, Pokemon is a big love of mine since I was young (another fun fact: Sypon comes from Pokemon). I am not as big into the animes, but my buddies have slowly been filtering through some and I've gotten more familiar with a few series! I'd definitely Naruto it up with some chumps. I like a lot of things. x)
My schedule is quite rigorous. I often don't have much time to get on, but always try to make an exception for roleplaying, which I have a huge passion for. As I said above, my favorite franchises/stories include many of the video games that I play, and I love roleplaying (and generally being a fan of) those.
I can't think of any warnings. I'm generally a peaceful person, and haven't been primarily on forums for long to know how I tend to come off - though I love to joke around!
A little bit of sentiment before I close this intro:
I'm always excited to see enthusiastic people who love to roleplay-- to work together to craft an original story, even if over weeks, months, or even years. It's an awesome sight to see. I made the Grotto because my friends are inspiring, hilarious, and unique crafters of their own individual literary styles. I stand by the cheesy idea that this sort of social quilt brings people and creativity together to craft something really special.
I'm excited to see what comes from you talented folks!

I'm Doutei and you can call me any variant of that name that you think I'll recognize. The most common nickname I think people use for me is Dou. I'm Yama's twin so that's why the two of us join things like this together/seem disturbingly close. It also means that if one of use mentions we're off to dinner you'd best assume the other is going as well. I like jazz, cats, and crappy TV shows. I like to eat a lot so sorry but you will prolly hear me complain that I am hungry a lot. I'm pretty friendly so feel free to hit me up on skype!
My hobbies are drawing, roleplaying, playing piano, doting on the family cat, and bothering my friends. I feel like I need to take up more so I can learn to do more interesting things. I used to play the clarinet and while I prolly still can it won't sound pretty for a while. Oh well, I should be looking for a job before I take up anything new.
My fandoms are kind of varied but like most people I enjoy the Pokemon games (gave up on the anime unfortunately), some Final Fantasy games, the Tales of ___ series of games, Phoenix Wright, Professor Layton, Hotel Dusk, Ghost Trick, and Monkey Island. There are prolly more but I can't think of them right now, plus if the list got longer it'd get really obnoxious.
As for my anime/manga fandoms, I like a lot of old school manga like Ranma 1/2 and that kind, CLAMP's earlier work but not their new stuff as much, stuff by Ken Akamatsu, and others I can't remember right now. As you can see, I'm not the best at remembering things.
Disclaimers: I complain about hunger a lot, tend to use obscure reference to make jokes that fail, and am sometimes bad about remembering to respond to PMs/posts in a timely manner. If this happens just poke me again and I'll get to it.

I'll respond to basically anything I recognize as a reference to me, as long as you're not being insulting razz
Let's see... Yes, I like PokeMon and other various video games, though I don't get too much time to play most of the time because of life. I'm at college studying languages and stuff. That's fun.
I enjoy knitting, though I think I'm starting to develop a bit of a problem because of wanting to do so many things and not having enough time xp I also like to write, but I haven't been doing that nearly enough lately. Maybe some day I'll actually finish a story.
Warnings? I sometimes use more emotes than necessary and try to hug people without provocation. Myep.

 "Cylem: Introduce yourself."==>??? seekingCylem [?SC] AT ?:?? responded to memo. [ HOWDY. My name is Emily, but I go by pretty much anything. Usually I'm called Cylem. My username doesn't have much of an origin story seeing as it's gibberish from my MapleStory days.
My hobbies include Tumbling, art, games and roleplay in no particular order. Like Sypon, or more accurately, with Sypon, I attend DigiPen for art-student-purposes. As far as games go, I don't have much time for them anymore, but I have a gigantic, bleeding, soft spot for MMOs. Sadly due to not being made of time, money or patience, I haven't played any p2p games like WoW, but I've definitely stumbled my way through a lot of f2p Korean grinders. I also like to read the really bad roleplays in Gaia's Barton Town forum.
I also really like the animes. I prefer reading manga generally and I haven't seen anything new since Madoka, but I'm familiar with a s**t-ton of titles. Regardless, the ones I've RP'd are the mainstream Naruto and Soul Eater, but I'm up for pretty much anything. As for game fandoms, off the top of my head I can name the World Ends With You, Avalon Code, Phoenix Wright, Pokemon and all that.
Also I really, really like Homestuck. A lot.
For disclaimers I guess I'll say I don't post much since I don't usually have anything to say, but I'm a hardcore lurker, so I'll probably read whatever gets posted here. When I do have something to say, I tend to ramble.

I'm the older twin and the one that cooks, cleans and basically keeps Dou alive. I like video games, music, manga, cute things and Elmo. I also like desserts so maybe we can trade recipes if you know any good ones, yeah? Or you can just give them to me, you sweet thing you. ; D
We're both kinda lazy so we may not post multiple times per day but we do try to be fairly active on gaia and skype when we're not worshipping our siamese cat. My skype is xxxyamashii if you'd like to add me on there to plan or just hang out and talk about roleplaying theory (not in a sophisticated way lol), cats or cheeseburgers.
I like Phoenix Wright, Ghost Trick, Professor Layton and puzzle games like that. I also like rhythm games too (Rhythm Heaven anyone?). I'm a huge fan of the Monkey Island games and like to pretend I'm a pirate sometimes. Final Fantasy is also okay but I prefer the other listed titles a little more.
As for manga/anime, I like crazy things like Ranma 1/2, Samurai Pizza Cats and Kodocha. I'm more into the older series like Rayearth and Love Hina. I know some more recent stuff too but I'm not as versed in them.
Playing the piano is fun, can also play the clarinet and I have double jointed thumbs. Warnings would have to be that I like to sleep in and get grouchy when I first wake up so I won't be very nice at those times. Normally I'm okay at posting unless I'm really unmotivated and it will take over a week, in which case you have permission to slap me around until I do what you want.
Also, people tend to compare us to the Hitachiin twins which is pretty accurate I guess. Decipher that as you like.

Salutations!
The username is Katanari and while a few people have my express permission to call me Kat, I prefer Green. Katanari Damacy on the other hand is totally cool. You may also call me Lord or Master. I'm down with those as well.
I'm currently a student at Bellevue College and working on my transfer degree. I'm hoping to major in theatre and something else to support my habit. My current dreams are to write a novel, act on Broadway, and work with Joss Whedon and live as a shepherd in Ireland. I love to sing. In fact, most the time I never actually shut up unless I have headphones on. I like to dance, albeit poorly, and climb to high places. I also play Duel Monsters (of which I am a champion) and more recently, Magic. For some strange reason I generally dislike watching movies and television.
I like to consider myself a pretty big gamer. Some of my favourite video games are The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Goemon, Harvest Moon, Sonic, and Portal*. I previously played World of Warcraft but upon becoming a poor college student as well as losing interest I have since quit. I still play a few MMOs, in essence Aion, Phantasy Star Online 2, and Guild Wars. I am currently impatiently waiting the release of Guild Wars 2 as it is going to rock the face of the MMO world. Other games I enjoy are igo, chess, Imaginiff, Dixit, and Elixir. Card games are always fun too!
I'm a big reader and while I haven't visited recently due to scheduling, I'm planning a big trip to the library. In the meantime I've been settling back rereading the Redwall series. I'll devour pretty much anything in page form; I'm open to all sorts of genres so if you have any favourites that you want to talk about, toss them my way and I'll chew through them as fast as I can get my hands on them. Some of my personal favourites off the top of my head are Changeling, Jack of Shadows, and The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny, A Once and Future King by T. H. White, Stardust by Neil Gaiman, and Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Obviously I like a lot of fantasy. I love sci-fi too but no immediate titles are coming to mind.
I used to be really big into anime and manga but recently I've devoted more of my time to reading. Some of my favourite series though are Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, Trigun, Hellsing Ultimate and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. Cartoons are good too. Invader Zim and Angry Beavers are awesome; I'm a fan of Richard Horvitz. Also, I love Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and Jackie Chan Adventures. Seriously. How can anyone not like anything with Jackie Chan in it? My favourite movies are Spirited Away, The Lion King, and Princess Bride. Disney's animated Robin Hood is up there too.
Warnings: I have a tendency to ramble if this lengthy introduction was any sort of indication. I have high-functioning autism and despite that I take medication to help deal with general depression and anger, I can be pretty moody. So if I'm being an a**, don't take it personally. I promise I'll apologise later. On that similar note, I generally speak my mind and don't dance around issues. Again, it's nothing personal.
Finally, I would like to say how excited I am to RP with you all. I think I know most everyone here but in case I don't... Hello and it's nice to meet you!

Oh gosh, introductions. Well, um, I go by Aura pretty much everywhere, so I’d really like it if you called me that! I’ve had a few people use the Kitsune part of my username instead, but I’m not used to that so I might not realize you’re talking to me if you do! Aura doesn’t really leave much room for nicknames, but if you think of any good ones that I’d know are me, go for it!
Let’s see…Hobbies are next! I spend a lot of time online here on gaia and pretty much all of that time is spent in roleplays. I love writing a lot, but so far I still have trouble finishing longer stories. I’m really big on reading, too, so I’m always on the lookout for new books, so if you have any suggestions for me, let me know! I’ve been dabbling in drawing, too, and I’m not very good yet, but I hope to get better at it eventually!
I also like video games, mostly the roleplaying sort. First person shooters are fun, too, but I have terrible aim, haha. My all time favorite game series EVER is Wild Arms, so odds are you’ll catch me babbling about it in fangirlish frenzy at some point. To get it out of the way now: If you have never played any of the WA games, please remedy this as soon as possible! I’m also pretty much in love with the Portal games.
Other than that, let’s see…I like finding interesting new webcomics to read, and I’m also a really big Homestuck fan! Gotta tell you, Cylem, that introduction was wonderful. As for anime and manga, I like way too many to list and I’m always open to watching/reading new ones, no matter how crazy. I usually claim Naruto as my favorite, but I’m not entirely sure it’s really my favorite favorite anymore, if that makes sense?
Warnings? Um…Well, I can be really forgetful and indecisive sometimes…And I guess I watch a lot of movies and things, too, so sometimes I might get distracted by whatever’s happening on tv and not respond for up to a couple of hours, haha. But I always come back!
Anyway, this seems really long to me now, so I’m going to call this introduction done and hope it’s shiny enough! Oh, right, shiny. I didn’t mention I was a Browncoat, did I? Yep, there’s that, too.
