Ironically enough one of my room mates and I were talking about something like this a few nights ago. She was telling me about how if she ever was to have kids she wouldn't want to know what the sex is until having the baby. Mainly its because of all of our friends who some of which are currently pregnant and there's this thing on facebook that can keep you updated on the progress and such, One of them.....well she does this progress report like every few days so it gets a little tiresome even though we're happy for her. sweatdrop

One of the other reasons we both agreed on is even if we were to know what the sex was if we had kids we wouldn't want to tell people because we really don't believe in the "girls are pink, boys are blue" bit and would want neutral or other colors for baby stuff like green, or purple, or whatever. Makes it more fun that way.

Considering I play "Auntie Lia" a lot for my friends kids I can't give too much advice on what to expect and such. All I can really say is be ready for everything and anything because kids are sneaky little genius buggers and its unwise to underestimate them.

I would prefer neutral or masculine colors for all my children, I'd rather not fill a girl's space with pink unless she wanted pink.

Miro thinks it's impractical to not want to know the baby's sex since there are a number of other things you'll have on your mind when it comes time for delivery, and deciding you don't want to know just because someone else is annoying with their baby updates is silly. If you want neutral colors, then buy neutral colors and tell your friends you want neutral colors if they plan to buy stuff for you. It's not that hard.

The whole pink and blue thing stems from the fact that it's hard to tell a baby's gender just by looking at them because most all babies look the same. It was a way for people to be able to tell immediately how to address the baby rather than having to ask if it's a boy or girl first. And it isn't as if what they wear as a child is going to really have any effect on what they grow up to be like since they're not even going to remember those years. So what color they wear doesn't really matter.

Miro would probably dress any kids she had in green just because she personally likes the color green and they're stuck with Miro's preference until they can dress themselves twisted There will also be
panda suits ninja Then Miro can embarrass them with pictures of them in panda suits when they get older ninja

I have a friend who was told her child was a girl via altrasound. She let everyone know, decorated a room pink, got a ton of pink and purple clothes, relatives pitched in and she was AAAAAAALL set.

Probably just me but I wouldn't go for all cutesy colorful clothes or animal costumes.

I would rather dress a kid up in something that hopefully won't look embarrassing 10 years later.

Of course I have no intention of actually making babies because of my crap genes, I actually want to get snipped now, when I don't have any kids. Would rather adopt or marry a woman who already has kids and adopt hers if possible

Pretty much the same story with my cousin. When she had an ultrasound done, the tech told her it was a boy. Though not long after that, my cousin delivered a healthy baby girl. Seems that little Jennifer just had a finger showing up in the wrong place! xd

I believe in the golden rule. Would I want to be intentionally embarrassed? No.

Yeah I told most of my friends to get its unisex stuff just for the fact stuff like the sex being completely different when the baby its born. Im just really exited either way it's a blessing but id rather have a boy first xd

This happened to me. My third child with my late wife was supposed to be a boy. We were told from the first day we could find out the sex to the last ultrasound that my daughter would be a boy. We decorated the room blue got blue and green clothes with dinosaurs and stuff boys like on it. And brought out the old clothes that we didnt use (we got too much clothes on each baby shower) from our two older sons. Well...she came out "congratulations on your first daughter Mr. Doyle and Ms. Armannsson." Diantha, who yes was my girlfriend then even though it was our third child together goes "Thank you Dr. Bak-wait what?" Lol we were surprised.
