╔══════════════╗ Story ╚══════════════╝ A long time ago, there was a little boy. He was the son of a prince and his princess. His father was a 'Light' a man of great power, able to control the sun and moon to do his bidding. His mother was a 'compass' able to control the winds and the air around them.
His grandfather was king of the land, a dark haired man with dark green eyes. No one dared to anger him for his temper was quick. His son feared him and wouldn't speak in his presence, and often ran at the sight of him.
The little boy, who was named Elithdel (Meaning 'light in the shadows'.) was told to never speak to his grandfather, but he didn't listen. He often spent his time with his grandfather who taught him dark things, things of death and the Shadows. By the time his parents learned it was too late. The boys precious blue eyes turned bright emerald green, and after ritual after ritual, the boy became something they feared, a Shadow mage.
His grandfather and he ran away, and after that it got worse. With no one to protect him from his grandfather. His grandfather abused him, tortured him till he did his bidding and finally one day the boy had enough, he lost his mind. He killed his grandfather and all the people who dared to come near him.
Now five hundred years later, You, and a group of travelers you are with. Have heard this tale and where the boy is claimed to have lived and you wish to go and see what remains.

╔══════════════╗ Rules ╚══════════════╝ ♣- Follow Gaia TOS ♣-No godmodding. ♣- I have the rights to ban you from the RP should you not follow the rules ♣-I'm not expecting perfection with posts, I'm most certainly not that great either, But I do expect at least five sentences/a paragraph. ♣-Any kind of humanoid character is allowed, I do not allow: cats, dogs, dragons, birds, ect. Your character may have a pet however! But it has to be something that would be considered somewhat normal. A hunting dog for example is perfectly fine. ♣- No person is perfect, therefore your character shouldn't be either. Characters should have flaws and fears and not be perfect at everything they do. You wont be able to play 'The flight of the bumblebee' the first time you pick up a violin, So why should they? ♣-Character profiles will be PMed to me, and I will be posting them up on a post here. Saying either: Acccepted or Declined. ♣-Stay active, I expect you to post at least once a week, I understand however if you are busy, Please PM me and let me know if you will be gone for a week. Or, Post it in OOC ♣- Have fun! ♣- Characters are allowed magical abilities, but please don't turn into a god.

Username Freiheitfreedom My Character's name is: Elithdel My Character is this many years young. 420 years My character was born a: Male My Character's race is: Elf My Character looks like: Elithdel is short, with soft pale skin and dark black hair, His eyes are stunning emerald green and he bears many scars and burns across his body, he is very thin and very sickly in appearance. Often wearing a black mages robe and carrying a dark wood staff with silver inlays. My character's personality is: Quiet, scared. My character's background story is: The story line, contains his back story. My Character is terrified of: People. My Character is good at: Magic, playing music. Username LadyFireCat My Character's name is: May My Character is this many years young. 17 My character was born a: (gender) female My Character's race is: Human My Character looks like: May is of average height, though the tan cap she wears gives her an inch or two in height. Her skin is tan from the ridiculous amounts of time she spends sleeping in the sun and she is never too far from her worn bag that she tends to swing around as a weapon. She has brown eyes that match her shoulder length muddy hair, which she usually leaves free to swing around. Her usual clothing are shin length black pants that are rather tattered and worn and a simple light blue shirt with sleeves that trail down to the edge of her wrists. My character's personality is: May can be rather abrasive to strangers, often complaining under her breath about their presence. However, she is easily intimidated and can be persuaded to be quiet rather easily. She tends to become sarcastic and insulting when pushed into a corner. If she feels it is needed, she will lie her way out of a situation and will do anything to survive. My character's background story is: May was raised by a couple of farmers, living a simple life until the day her father died when she was twelve. Unable to keep the farm running without her father, May and her mother took to wandering in and out of towns in an effort to find a place to settle. When she was fifteen, her mother disappeared while she was exploring a new town and May later found her hanging off the arm of a new man, draped in gold and jewels. Angry and betrayed she confronted the couple and was promptly thrown into jail for attacking nobility. In the middle of the night, as May lay brooding in her cell, she was visited by her mother who told her that if May kept shut about their relations and left the town immediately she would be let of jail and given a large amount of money. Reluctant to stay in the same town as her traitorous mother, May accepted eagerly and didn’t look back as she left the town gates. She spent the next two years wandering the earth and hunting down old artifacts and objects of legends to sell at the market. My Character is terrified of: enclosed spaces she can’t leave My Character is good at: bargaining, lying Username Jikial My Character's name is: Alexander Brighton My Character is this many years young. 19 My character was born a: Male. My Character's race is: Human My Character looks like: a rugged warrior, complete with a short beard, long hair braided in the back, and a surprisingly young face behind it all. He has a brutish build. My character's personality is: Honorable. He has been trained to be honorable as a way of life. He is also noble and as such, gullible. He can be tricked into anything as long as it sounds like it's a good cause. My character's background story is: Raised as a squire in an order of knighthood, he trained to be a good, but not the best, swordsman. Where he excelled was in the study of chivalry and the practice of nobility, always quick to help a fallen comrade, and never striking an unarmed opponent. A tender and gentle man at heart, he decided to part with the order to become a knight errant (though more of a squire errant as he was never knighted) to protect people instead of going to war for them. My Character is terrified of: being inside in the dark, savages, and very large animals. My Character is good at: being a swordsman, being chivalrous, diplomacy. Username Jason Kharo My Character's name is: Vernos Kharo My Character is this many years young. 537 My character was born a: Male My Character's race is: Trapped Spirit My Character looks like: My character's personality is: Quiet, decisive, quick-thinking, dead. My character's background story is: In life, Vernos Kharo was a assassin of superlative skill. Born with the gift of foresight, he was able to make his way to any target and eliminate them with understandable ease. Trained to be a master of the twin daggers, Vernos Kharo took a quest to uncover the legendary Crescent Blades. As he finally reached the plinth where they lay, he cast down a dark being that attempted to stop him. Casting one last incantation, the being spoke that on his death, he was forced to live for eternity as a Spirit Kind. Skip to a decade later and Vernos had been assigned to assassinate a Prince, some one whom dabbled with the soul black Magicks. Preparing to land the final killing blow upon the Prince, a blade of pure darkness slit the assassin's neck from behind. Falling to the floor, clutching his daggers tightly, he looked up to see the very same dark entity that he had murdered all those years ago, standing over him. It laughed as it delivered the death blow. That, however, was not the end. Vernos Kharo did not truly die, but was brought back to life, only in soul, however. Permanently clad in his withered robes and ancient light armour, his face hidden by a half, dull silver and midnight black mask along with his cowl, the dead assassin now stalks the land. Never sleeping, never resting, never tiring. Since he technically has no mouth, Vernos had learned to communicate through a telepathic link. My Character is terrified of: Although a spirit, Vernos still remains some human traits. One of these is his ultimate horror. Failure. My Character is good at: Despite being dead, his afterlife has done nothing but amplify his already prodigious stealth and acrobatic skills to inhuman levels. He is the master of the dagger and has used the Crescent Daggers for over 500 years of his life. Note from Jason and Freiheit: Vernos can be injured like any other human being, but can only be killed by his own blade.

The sky was darkening quickly as a young girl, wearing the plainest clothes possible and carrying a worn bag on her back, trotted quickly down the road. Time had passed more quickly than she realized and now May wanted to make it to the next town before it got too dark, she wasn't looking forward to spending another night out on the dusty roads.
Fiddling with her purse she scowled at the light weight, sorely regretting the spontaneous purchase of the boots she was currently wearing. I should have just enough to grab a room at the next inn, but I had better find something to sell soon or I'll be reduced to begging at doors.
A smirk crossed her face and she picked up her pace as she spotted some smoke rising around the bend. And, until then, I'll just persuade some gullible traveler to lend me some money.

Chainmail was heavy. It was good for a short battle and even training sessions in the yard, but when traveling for long distances at a time it was heavy. Alex almost wished he had left the order with a stolen horse, but no, honour said not to, honour said a lot of things Alex was regretting right now.
As the sky darkened the errant man looked from where he was sitting on a stump by the road to see if anyone was coming and saw, to his disdain as he was intending to disrobe in the coming weather, a girl making her way towards him.
His hand moved reflexively to his sword's hilt, not in a menacing way, in fact it looked so natural it seemed as though he relaxed when his hand was upon it.
Alex leaned forward a little and stared into the dirt. If she spoke to him, as he looked rather like a knight, or at the very least a town guardsmen, then she probably was not a bad person.

There Is a small Inn not far from you both. The lights are on and it is open. It is starting to thunder like it might rain, One might even think the tree's around you are whispering with the way their leaves sway back and forth. Of course, it is up to you if you wish to enter this Inn or keep going. Thunder crashes and lightening lights up the whole area, One might think they saw a young man standing there, but when the light fades he is gone.

The signs of the coming storm did not improve her mood and May, in the midst of hissing curses under her breath, almost missed the man sitting by the side of the road. Startled, May nearly tripped over her own feet, stumbling forward and coming to an abrupt stop not two feet away from him.
Eyeing his sword warily. May attempted a bright smile at his bowed head, hoping that the man didn't have an inclination to stabbing young grils by the side of the road. You never knew who was who at this hour and May hadn't survived the past two years by being an idiot.
The chain mail, however, suggested the back story of a knight and May quickly hid the smirk on her face at the thought of maybe persuading the man to lend her his money purse.
"Oh, my!" she chirped, lacing her hands behind her back and pitching her voice higher. "I didn't see you there, sir! What brings a noble man like you out here at this time of night?"

Alex looked up at the girl, at the moment he did not feel too noble. He felt like a man in heavy chain mail. He still wanted his break, but he was surprised she would call him noble anyway, better safe than sorry on her part he guessed.
"Just traveling, m'lady."
The squire looked around, down the road there was an inn, and for a brief moment. . .he blinked. There was no man between them and the inn. But he thought he saw one.
"There is an inn down the road, I plan on staying there for the storm and the night," anything to get out of this mail, "You are headed that way, if you wish we can walk together."
He stood from the stump revealing his height and stature. Even weighed down with the mail and tired, he stood straight and proud.

May peered down the road, absently trying to see the inn though the flashes of lightning only illuminated the road for a brief second. For a moment there was the suggestion of a young man standing in the road, but the next flash showed moths but tumbling leaves and dirt.
Shrugging off the illusion, May blinked and resisted the urge to back away as the man stood up. He was certainly bigger than she had thought and his strength, or pride, must have been strong to keep his back straight under what must have been heavy chain mail.
"I would be delighted, sir knight, to accept your invitation. I'm afraid I misjudged my travel time as I left the last town, else I would have made it there hours ago." May tilted her head and beamed up at the man, trotting lightly down the path. If there was anyone lingering on the road before the inn, she was certain this man would protect her, or at least serve as a distraction for her to run away.
For a moment she felt a brief surge of guilt, but survival trumped morals so she shook her head and turned to look at her current traveling companion.
"Since we are to be traveling together, if only for a brief time, we should exchange names. I would not want to be calling you sir knight for the entire night," May said, giggling a bit at her unintentional pun, before clearing her throat. "You can call me May, if you'd like. It rolls off the tongue much quicker than milady."

"I am," and for a moment he paused, he did this almost every time he went to lie about this very certain thing, "Knight Alexander Brighton," a title any other man would proudly announce with his chest puffed out and a grin of pride, but which came from Alex as a little less prideful. "But you may simply call me Alex."
He smiled at her and outstretched his hand, intending to take hers a put it to his lips, as was the custom. Ladies were to be respected after all.
"I am just looking for work."

May narrowed her eyes slightly at the hesitation, though the smile stayed on her lips. She couldn't blame the man if he was lying about his name, she wouldn't have trusted a girl wandering around alone at night either.
May held her hand out to him as he made a gesture to kiss it, "Then Alex it shall be. What sort of work are you looking for Alex? Aren't knights generally employed by the people that trained them?"
She was sincerely curious, most knights she had seen had been in the service of some order or other, which made this lone knight without a steed interesting.

Alex set off towards the inn expecting her to follow, this was a rather common question he had answered before in the employ of others. "I am a Knight Errant my dear, we travel the country helping those who need help for modest sums of money." Modest indeed, his coinpurse, neatly tucked under his chainmail specifically because of pickpockets, was such that while he could afford a few stays and a few drinks at any inn, Alex could not buy a horse or have his armor and weapons reworked.
"It is part of our training," he lied, "for us to see the world outside our courtyard as it is meant to be seen." Really his order was more concerned about going to wars and attending dinner parties, but he could always make an order up. Alex did not intend to travel with May for very long, at least not long enough to find out he's merely a rogue squire.
But for the record, he will only lie about these very specific things, and considers it no lack of honour to protect one's identity, in suspicious company or not.

May walked a bit quicker to catch up to Alex's stride, swinging her bag onto her other side to lessen the discomfort building up in her right shoulder. While she didn't have much in her pack, the little she did have tended to get heavier the longer she was on the road. The weight, and the bandits that wandered the roads, was one reason why she generally kept her riches in a safe location, preferring to carry just enough money to to travel.
"How interesting! The world is certainly a very large and fascinating place, though," and here she sighed, placing a hand protectively over her bag, "there are so very many dangers in traveling the world alone. Why, after those bandits struck I barely have enough to feed myself for the next week."
Slumping her shoulders in a dejected manner, May peeked at Alex from beneath her eyelashes to gauge his reaction to her tale. If he was sympathetic, she might be able to wrangle a night's stay out of him, if not then lifting a few coins off of him shouldn't prove too difficult. Either way May doubted she would see the man past the night. There weren't too many people traveling in her direction.
