After giving it some thought; I believe the guild should be opened up to everyone. I know it is contradictory as what the guild was founded on, but I believe we can attract more active members if we open it up to all of Gaia. When we were spotlighted it was shown as a guild that you can reminisce about the past, but also says where as to learn about it, which means this guild could also be a place to teach the newer gaians of how it use to be back in the good ol' days. I think that this could be the key to revitalizing the guild, there are only so many people that fall into our 6 year period of old gaians, even fewer who still remain active. That is my opinion, what are your thoughts?

Not sure. Yes it would be great to show the new folks how stuff used to be and give advice but I think that should be something on the side, not something to change the guild over. There are threads already out there for some of that actually.
It was because of the spotlight that I joined this guild in the first place... For years it felt like there were very few gaian's my age or older that were still active until I found this and was thrilled to see that I wasn't alone. I understand that it's difficult to keep things active and all... but we could at least update the age range a bit if we wish to like 2003-2010 since it's already 2012 and 2008 was like four years ago.

I do like the idea of opening the guild up more to the public. I really enjoy talking to people in here, and meeting new gaia old-timers. I think that is a great idea, personally.
However, I do not like the idea of adding an additional two years to the gap. I do not consider people who have joined in the past two years to be gaia old-timers. sweatdrop

Maybe 4 years, but I do not want to do too sooner than that. sweatdrop No offence, but most people in the last few years are normally greedy, or jerks who like to flame people for fun. 2008 seems good.
The first post gave me the impression that this thread was about turning the guild into a generic chat guild for everyone. A lot of those already exist and I've been in a few that have pretty much died after being much more popular than this one, so that would be a bad idea.
A guild should always have some sort of focus or it's probably going to fail.

A lot of those already exist and I've been in a few that have pretty much died after being much more popular than this one, so that would be a bad idea. A guild should always have some sort of focus or it's probably going to fail. That makes sense, you need a themed guild or its just a smaller CB.
